Don't worry about it too much. Bitcoin solves a problem that for many is not on the radar. Whenever and wherever debasement and inflation affect people's lives, Bitcoin and helpful folks like yourself will be there.
BREAKING NEWS!
New episode of Nostrovia is out now!
Stewart Mackenzie is working to build a world where State controlled address centric networking protocols like TCP/IP are made obsolete by information centric protocols.
In this episode of Nostrovia, he explains what information centric networking is, how it's resistant to attack by the State, and why he thinks the current architecture of nostr is fundamentally flawed as a censorship resistant network.

If you have problems with zapstr, contact the platform's generalissimo: nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft

There's a system called CJDNS (https://github.com/cjdelisle/cjdns/) that provides an alternative to IP-based networking. Maybe the Nostr community will be able to draw something from it.

It's possible, but not sure if it'll require some code. https://github.com/aljazceru/awesome-nostr#relays is a list of various relay software. If you have experience running VMs or containers on mobile then these should all work at least minimally through such a setup.
Some concerns on mobile are that relays can use a lot of bandwidth and should be always online and routable from the public internet for general use. It doesn't make sense to publish to a relay if your intended audience can't get to it.
When they call Google a browser.
Power is hard to let go. Their blind spot is in everything new that grows exponential.
Spaced repetition is the best way to teach them what you like! 🥪
Share what's helpful and this is never a problem. I think each person has to choose their level of engagement with social media whatever the form. If it's not working for you, take a break.
Firefox seems to connect to many relays for Primal. StackOverflow said the limits are per server, so in theory many relays can be supported.
Coracle is reaching out to tons of relays when I load it, and publishing is (as I try it again just now) working 12/21 relays pushed to which is fine I think. Will have to run with the inspector more to see how it's going longer term.
Test post from Coracle.
Nostr has a great community with a solid social graph. The protocol has a young and experimental dynamic. Everything is signed. Encryption is easy. Relays are uhhh.
How can we replace relays with a structure that is global and attack-proof? How about a DHT plus a Web of Trust for moderation?
Here is a very rough estimate at the top 25 nostr relays sorted by read popularity:

If I want to connect to n relays, which combination will allow me to see the notes of the highest number of users?
Coracle is connecting to zero relays for me today, so trying and pleasantly surprised by Primal. Snort only connecting to 3-5 relays. Amethyst I love since it connects to 20+ but I'd rather be on web/desktop if I'm at my machine. For all I'd love more visibility into connection and publishing reliability. That's something I'd pay for.
Great work! Trying Primal as my main client on web/desktop now.
My two main problems on the relay front are a) how to choose and b) managing the paid ones.
How to choose I feel like has a combinatorial aspect. I'd like to maximize reach and reliability while using a reasonable number of relays.
For the paid ones, a way to approve subscriptions and keep them updated, plus some reporting so I know I'm getting value for paying.
Really makes it hard to savor the moment. Maybe we should have a slow mode that puts on Barry White so we can groove to our payment for a few sensuous hours. 🎷
Zapity zap. Today we use it to trade trinkets and to communicate value but we're always on the lookout for that beautiful symbol of convenience AND freedom. I need to go to more places where this is the primary currency.
What's needed is a way to print out zaps so we can show our grandchildren.
It really is brilliant, bringing the convenience and privacy of cash without the inflation. Reminds me of a Tim Oreilly quote: "the future is already here, it's just not evenly distributed."
When I heard about Simon&Schuster being sold to private equity firm KKR, Cory Doctorow and his book Chokepoint Capitalism was the first thing that sprang to mind. Guess they dynamic is not getting better.

I love that Compose is in prime real estate top-left on Primal.
Much better than floating plus symbols and compose buttons in the lower right ghetto. I suspect those to be an anti-pattern designed to keep you passive, reading, rather than creating original content.
Love the work you're doing Jack. We got this!
