Eventually, all social media roads lead to Nostr. But yeah, most profiles are ones I would not to read. The nice thing is that with the way Nostr works, I wouldn't have to.
Absolutely. And it's great to not be limited by the app. Wish X and FB were on the Nostr network.
I love it, however it's currently giving me an error when I try to post or reply. When is the next update?
May 2025 see all of our dreams come true!!
Happy New Year!
We saw that as well. 5.5 hours to go.
Love is a subjective measurement of one of the four primary resources of civilization, Trust. The other three resources are Capital, Information and Inspiration.
If you love someone, you are giving them a positive value for whether you trust them or not. You can describe love as 100% trust, or anything positive compared to where you see someone else on the same spectrum. You can love one person more than another, because you trust them more. You can love a sunrise more than a rainy day, or you can love how something or someone makes you feel, because you trust that the memory of that feeling is something you can bring back at any time, or get back again and again with the same person or the same experience.
If you lose trust in someone, due to betrayal or a mistake, you can say that you love them less, or that you no longer love them at all. And if someone earns your trust sufficiently, you can mutually agree to spend the rest of your life with them, trading a ring for a lifetime of memories.
I know that Sweden is following the correct path, with a law in place requiring a 1% budget surplus every year and a goal of paying off the national debt eventually. It seems to be working. No other country is following that path that I can determine, but hopefully we'll see some eventually.
I agree with you. Congress won't do it. They would rather see the United States fall as a nation state than do the right thing. And that's what the history books will record.
"Yes, and..." is the core of improvisation. And that's what this network is, a giant improv stage. It's so beautiful.
I'm looking forward to a consensus on the part of developers on what the best implementation of Groups should be on the Nostr network. Being able to see the same posts and profiles followed/followers on the different apps is great. Being able to see the same messages 1:1 on different apps is also great. But when I can go to Primal, Amethyst, OxChat and Satlantis and see the same Group conversations, that's when things will really start to explode.
I believe that paid relays could become much more appealing if they offered a dedicated website where users could log in to manage, edit, upload, download posts, content, and follower lists—all linked to their NIP. while still allowing users to keep full control over their content.
This would maintain the decentralization principles of nostr that everyone wants & needs. I suspect more people would be willing to pay for a relay.
This concept would resemble the functionality of the Citrine Relay app, which allows users to view and manage their posts in a database.
While Nostr is still in its early stages, I’m confident that relays will evolve in this direction.
In the meantime, I find the Citrine Relay app both fascinating and incredibly useful.

Yes please!
Whoever wrote that doesn't understand open blockchains. I don't need an exchange to track data, I just need a service that can read blockchain transactions and compile it into a list that the IRS will accept. I use a company out of Germany, and have never had a problem.
Already exists. https://connect.nos.social/
I use it, and whenever I post something on Nostr it automatically appears on my X feed.
My conclusion based on years of reading and making connections is that budget deficits are the actual source of ALL of these issues, and those started in the 1960's with the Vietnam War, Great Society, Apollo and other factors. Our government's refusal to balance the budget forces us to shove more and more US Dollars into circulation, far away above and beyond what a growing population can absorb by having more demand for goods and services. So every single year that we have a shortfall and we have to go further into debt to issue new currency, the people who buy the treasury bonds get the coupons and then later when the bonds mature they get more money to spend in the economy. The individuals and institutions who are buying those treasuries are not middle class or working class, they are upper class and institutions. And what do upper class and institutions do with new money that comes in as revenue? They buy stocks and high ticket items. Enter "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous". That was a TV show in the 1980's that was SUPPOSED to show how insane it was that people have this much extra capital, but instead it got spun into a "I wish I were a Rich Man" show where everyone in America was promised that if we worked hard enough for 4 decades, we could afford $100 Million dollar mansions and thousand foot yachts.
If we don't balance the budget, the US Dollar will go to zero. Milk will cost $50 per gallon. Million dollar homes will be dumps that nobody wants. Education will be so expensive, nobody will attend classes except the ultra rich. Charles Dickens will be rolling in his grave.
Balance the !@#$%^& budget at the federal level. If any politician doesn't show you a plan to do that, and if any member of the House or Senate doesn't have that as their top priority, vote against them.
Competition should be a quest for efficiency and new ideas.
Diplomacy is shaking an opponent's hand before a match, and a hug after the match.
Cooperation can yield similar results, but it's all a matter of how we think about it.
How DARE you think outside their precious box!
Build it anyway.
At least to me, if we are using Bitcoin to buy goods and services that we value, it means that we are keeping the value within the Bitcoin network.
