Always buy no-KYC :

Not in polite company.
Cash under threat in the 51st State :
"If Bill C-2 passes, it will become a Criminal Code offence for businesses, professionals, and charities to accept cash donations, deposits, or payments of $10,000 or more. Even if the $10,000 payment or donation is broken down into several smaller cash transactions, it will be crime for a business or charity to receive it.
This is similar to Quebec’s Bill 54, adopted in March 2024, which empowers police to presume that any person carrying $2,000 or more in cash is connected to an illegal activity. Police can seize the money, and the citizen must prove his or her innocence to get it back."

better wrap it in smth before though because that plastic bag will give your bread a weird plastic smell/taste. You can wrap it in a good baking paper first.
Butter. You need butter. Lots of butter. And then more butter.
Never trust "fiat promises". Either something _can_ be done, or it _can not_ be done.

From what I see here https://lrl.texas.gov/geninfo/faq.cfm#govSign it seems that if he just sits on it, it becomes law. If he wants it to go away, he has to veto it.
Do you think he'll veto it?
Does anybody know why Abbott hasn't signed it yet? https://capitol.texas.gov/BillLookup/Actions.aspx?LegSess=89R&Bill=SB21

Wow! Why? For small amounts, I would much rather optimize for privacy. My privacy is worth more than small amounts.
I'm not sure it does. I'd love to see ecash on top of liquid as well.
I see the exact opposite : I just don't see that custodial lightning brings enough to the table to compete with ecash, which at least gives me more privacy.
Given that both can rug me, I don't see why I wouldn't take the extra privacy. Might as well, no?
The multiple mints option is also very interesting.
So people can better see what that company then does with the btc. Maybe they want to sell some and send it to an exchange. You can then front-run that.
And do you want the precedent of having public companies disclosing their addresses? Do you want to have authorities tell you : "if big companies can do it, why can't you?". Do you want to have to argue about that?
I can't stop them from disclosing their addresses. But I certainly won't be recommending that or praising companies for doing that.
It's a bad precedent and a bad idea.
It's fine. It's cheese. It's made to last a while. If you have any doubt, take just a spoonful and wait 24 hours :-)
⚡️🇺🇸 NEW - California Assembly passes bill to allow the state to receive payments in Bitcoin and digital currencies.
It passed 68-0, and now heads to the Senate.

Don't hold your breath, California.
Yes, that's my understanding. Those bitcoins are custodial so they're on their balance sheet. So you just sort of have an IOU that they'll give them back to you. So, funnily enough, you're an "unsecured creditor" of the IOU for what used to be your own bitcoins.

After listening to “the great taking “ on bitcoin audible I think it adds an important risk to bitcoin loans, even if not re-hypothecated.
If saylor or 21 or strike do this at scale then the “asset” seizure would be your sats.
Yes. My understanding is that the shares you would own in MSTR are never actually held directly by you, but rather through custodians. In a bankruptcy of the custodian (not your bankruptcy and not even the bankruptcy of MSTR), your shares of MSTR are treated like assets of the custodian (!!) for service of the custodian's creditors!
So, again, MSTR (and others) could have the best intentions in the world and do absolutely nothing wrong, it still doesn't change the fact that you can get rug-pulled at a higher level.
