I like how most of the shitcoiners here are so quiet. They're present, but they stay pretty quiet. Feels like everything’s in harmony.

Yes, it's like the Fight Club. You know the first rule of the Fight Club.

Looks like I finally found the best web host after decades. It's

- anonymous (they don't know who you are, if you don't tell them),

- fast automation and support

- doesn't use Big Tech (like Cloudflare, AWS, or Google Cloud),

- affordable, and you can pay with Bitcoin (via BTCPay Server).

No. They'll all expect for Twitter to get better and stay.

Author of the Book "The Bitcoin Standard", that got translated into 10,000 languages:

Ordinary Bitcoin pleb on Nostr:

"nOt YoUr kEyS, nOt yOuR cOiNz. yEaH pRice gO uP!" 🤪 🤡

Two advantages they had: they weren’t as distracted by media as we are. And they had years of focus and training, like Harry Mack in that video.

Exactly, a first-world problem completely disconnected from reality, for some spoiled rich brats.

Ever stopped to think that for a lot of people around the world, Bitcoin just means finally having access to money in the first place? They’re nowhere near saving, growing wealth, or dreaming of a better life. They’re still stuck trying to survive.

But most of you just keep hOdLiNg and never spend or donate. And then go ahead and convince yourself you're a real Bitcoiner entitled to join the discussion.

Marie Collie gave me a bunch of cheap likes AND contacted me via dm tonight. Man, my profile pic's gotta look fire!

I gotta say, setting up your own sales booth on nostr:npub1market6g3zl4mxwx5ugw56hfg0f7dy7jnnw8t380788mvdyrnwuqgep7hd is actually pretty quick and easy. Really nice.

Substack is different now. People from other social media are slowly migrating there and producing great content. They're not coming to Nostr.

What I'm talking about are the basic operations every system should support by now: CRUD (Create, Read, Update, and Delete). We’ve got it in every operating system, every database, every other social media platform. Just not on Nostr? Doesn’t that strike you as odd? Without CRUD, any system is basically useless. My ancient, also decentralized weblog gives me real control over my data. The only downside is the lazy, slightly dumbed-down audience that never reaches it. But it wasn’t always like this. Social media made everyone lazy. Cheap audience for minimal effort, in return for algorithms and ads. The internet was always decentralized to begin with. With anonymous hosting in Finland, I’m uncensorable too. So what’s really left of Nostr?

Zaps. You’re generous with those, no doubt. But the rest? “Value for Value” never really worked. Just look at the celebrities who show up here, say “hi” once, collect $1000 in Zaps, and never come back.

Yes, great potential, great eco system. And Zaps are awesome, still a bit buggy with some Lightning implementations, but awesome.

But no delete, no edit, no real vanish, being trapped in hell threads. I know it's all harder to implement in decentralized environments but it's still the basics.

And then there is this cult-like culture here. A loud, widely celebrated hedonistic, materialistic bunch of "nostrfluencers" posting the simplest stuff. And you see this shit all over your timeline. Except you mute them. And even that doesn't work properly across all clients. Always going on about uncensorability and freedom, but can’t handle even the slightest bit of valid criticism. That’s cult behavior, not a healthy community.

I’m seeing parallels to the OP_RETURN debate here too. Devs set the tone, not the users. It's "If you’re just a user, shut up". What happened to user-centric approach? That should be common knowledge by now.

We've been saying, there's no diversity, for 2 years now and it won't change in the next 2 years.

Oooh master, please enlighten me. I'm so new to Nostr and I'm so young and inexperienced. Please enlighten me with your wisdom.

What is that even supposed to mean?

They're all moving to Substack now.

People we'd actually love to have around here, because of their great content, are all heading over to Substack.

And honestly, that's where the better content is showing up these days. My rarely used RSS reader is happy about it.

This is what you get for being stingy with zaps. This is what you get for pushing so-called “personalities” who only throw around shallow slogans. This is what you get for being intellectually limited. Cult-like behavior.

Screw decentralizing content if it doesn't even let you delete or edit stuff. If it doesn’t give you real control over your own content. If it tries to preserve every damn “GM” forever. First, make some good content, then we’ll talk. Content is still king. Data hygiene still matters.

Go ahead, come at me. You won’t win anything by doing so. You’ll just prove my point.

I had a discussion recently with German LinkedIn about a project that the Minister of Labor wants to push through. Namely, that even more groups that were previously excluded should pay into the social security fund.

People here are now so dependent on and accustomed to the idea of a welfare state that they can't imagine any other reality. And without realizing that this actually subsidizes certain private sectors, such as the energy industry and general wages, which should have long since disappeared from a free market. Well, it won't last much longer. The system is eating itself.

"Bismark in the 1880s created compulsory insurance for accident, health, disability, and age (pensions). He called them “state socialism” and explained that all measures were socialist, and the state had to adapt to a little more socialism. What he wanted was to make the workers more dependent on the state and on him, that is, to have a dependent population under the ideology of national collectivism. The idea was that it would generate dependence and loyalty, which the German government needed to dominate Europe."

No. Should be "how do I vibe code?"

Asked my website hoster yesterday why they no accept BTC and why I can't login via nsec. Now I'm moving to a hoster who does.

What do you mean by "stay away"? I'm living thousands of miles away from you.

I’m afraid I have to disappoint you. You are not the one who can forbid us from telling the truth. What you do, of course, is your business.

It's also a scientific fact, that alcohol is the most society damaging drug.
