I want to set up a community relay with the following features, what are my options?

- a set of "public" notes that anyone can see

- a separate "in-community" feed that only a certain whitelist of npubs can see

- same for chat: a public chat any npub can participate in

- a private chat that only a certain whitelist of npubs can see

It’s funny how novel it seems to be able to choose your #nostr client and still have your social graph and ID, when we actually do this all the time with email and podcast clients.

I just proved another cool concept with #nostr #safebox.

The idea is that the data is completely portable and can migrate to other relays. If the relay I am using becomes unreliable or hostile, I can simply replicate/migrate the data (the proofs and related data) to other relays and continue on from there. I just proved this with my latest code.

So now #safebox is acting like an organism - if the environment becomes hostile, it can pick up its data and continue elsewhere. Same with the code - it doesn’t actually matter where the code is being executed, so long as it has access to the nsec to access the data.

The implications here are pretty wild: an instance of a ‘wallet’ or ‘safebox’, as like to call it, does not need to e contained within a specific app/device, nor constrained to a specific relay - it can ‘move around’ using friendly code and relays - all that is needed is the nsec.

I honestly don’t know where else this is possible, except for #nostr.

Just wild. This is #unstoppable.

Haven't had time to do it yet, but aside from keyword filtering I think a good solution is to block replies posted within the same second as the original post. A real human couldn't reply within 1 second. Yes they can just add a sleep into the script, but it adds a layer to the spam filter. At the intersection of all the mitigations, spam will be reduced.

This is a brilliant idea to explore

sometimes people are wrong with evil intent. in those instances, dont trust verify, saves time.

Imagine how much civilizational progress we could make if there was a "100% trust each other" injectable? If you knew that, temporarily, you and your interlocutor could say anything to each other with zero risk? This would destroy dozens of malignent structures that exist to insure people keep fighting.

When they come for Nostr they will:

1. Target the biggest relays first.

2. Some might/will fall

3. There will always be some that won't AND that content, identity will always live forever

4. Torrents never ended. The model is simply too hard to beat and then there's the private tracker thing, etc, etc

Nostr is truly an incredible work and an incredible tool.
