Haha, will it handle integrating TS with Jest? That's my biggest peeve with starting any project.

Rumor has it nobody inside of Twitter has access to the internal root CA private keys so they can't provision a new one, and it expired so they can't run puppet. Not the end of the world, but also this is going to kill productivity while everyone has to wipe their laptop.

What can I get for 3 sats?

How do we solve the problem of relay discovery? Remember 99% of users are non-technical and apathetic.

It's very much an echo chamber. Ultimately: content is king. It's kind of mindless to listen to a bunch of parrots going "zap?" "zap?" "zap?".

The news algorithm censoring everyone except those who say controversial things, which does actually contribute to the vitality addictive nature of Twitter. At the end of the day, your users are still human. That's something Nostr communities have to figure out. Until then, like crypto, it's a solution looking for a problem.

What's up with Costa Rica? Other than it being a great country in general, seems to be a lot of bitcoin people there. Curious why.

Don't listen in on BitMessage (if there are even still people there). It's 1000 times worse than anime tentacle porn.

I've been working on a digital board game implementation... casually thinking about deploying it with a freemium model, with payments in bitcoin over LN. It's currently open source and I'd like to keep it that way, but I've also spent the last 3 months of my life on it, and will probably need another 3 to polish it up for prime time, so pricing would be something like maybe 1k satoshis to spawn an instance? Has anything like this been done with any degree of success?

Why do we need decentralized social communication? #[0] wanted to know why Nostr was better than other supposed "free speech" social networks like Gab or Truth Social. Here's why:

Increased Resilience: Decentralization can make protocols more resilient by reducing the impact of a single point of failure. In a centralized system, if the central authority fails, the entire system collapses. In contrast, decentralized protocols are less vulnerable to catastrophic failures, because there are multiple nodes, relays, or clients that can pick up the slack in the event of a failure.

Increased Security: Decentralization can also increase security by making it more difficult for bad actors to attack the system. In a centralized system, if a single point of failure is compromised, the entire system can be compromised. In a decentralized system, however, attackers would need to compromise multiple nodes, relays, clients, etc. in order to take down the entire system, which can be much more difficult to do or even impossible.

Improved Efficiency: Decentralization can also lead to improved efficiency. When decision-making is distributed, it can be done more quickly and efficiently. This is because decision-making can be delegated to the individuals or groups that are closest to the issue at hand, rather than having to wait for a central authority to make a decision.

Increased Transparency: Decentralization can also increase transparency by allowing for greater scrutiny of decision-making processes. When decision-making is distributed, it is easier to track and audit the decision-making process, which can help ensure that decisions are made fairly and impartially.

Increased Innovation: Decentralization can foster innovation by creating an environment where different ideas can be explored and tested. This is because decentralized systems tend to be more open and inclusive, which allows for more experimentation and collaboration.

If these sound familiar, it's because these above reasons are why we favor decentralized money. Bitcoin and Nostr go hand in hand in these schools of thought. I hope this helps! 🤙

Crypto advocates have an axiom that "decentralize" is good, but this is not universal among muggles. Most humans are just don't want to think; they just feed from the teet of viral TikTok content. It sucks when WhatsApp goes down, but it's not enough of a motivation to abandon Facebook... and can you blame them? Check out this cute cat.

I prefer the word "democratized". Most of the time, things are fine, but if you don't like that people get shadow-banned, you can switch relays and take your data with you.

Inevitably the job of the relay will be content moderation/spam filtering. Call it censorship, but thankfully with Nostr it's democratized.

Setup a LNURL for my profile. That was annoying. Ended up going with a WalletOfSatoshi address, but I want to setup an address with my domain. Annoying.
