Isn’t it awesome knowing none of us have been censored, canceled, shadowbanned (besides that one app..), had our accounts closed, kicked out, told what to say, been part of an algorithm scheme to take our money and attention, our vote, forced to give KYC, we haven’t been bombarded by bots, fakes and scammers, None of us. It actually feels really good when you think about it.

Yes, I agree, I’m just trying to be realistic - nostr today doesn’t have a lot of problems not because nostr solved them - but mostly because there are no interest to abuse nostr right now because of the tiny userbase
However, constant messages about how great nostr today makes a lot of unaware people to believe that will always stay the same. And others as a consequence believe nothing should be done with nostr cause nostr already won
Instead it would be great to focus on future and understand what should be improved :)

I see it as us having the time to build and prepare for these issues to come.. It feels like we are building a sold base.

I thinks it’s both.. I’m guilty of being too positive on nostr, but I spend most my social time here and it has been only positive.. High hopium for sure.
But we are also building. New, solid clients that filter bots. Nostr.build just implemented a CSAM filter (our only filter), haven’t needed it but want to prepare. Good things keep coming.. Also, it doesn’t need to be the biggest in the world, as long as Nostr doesn’t break..
We are using Nostr right now despite all those problems you aren’t really mentioning.
A sheer amount of features and improvements have been shipped so far addressing yesterday’s and todays problems and the focus should remain there.
Again, hope it just me over pessimistic.
But I’m looking at my personal experience at nostr and its not comparable to what was on twitter at all, not by quantity but by quality, I have to watch tiktok after deleting twitter :)
I look at nostr global stats and they are very disappointing

I still don’t see even a hint to people working on incentives to run a relay - I don’t ask for incentives already, I don’t even see people who think its important :)
So yeah, there are some vibe happening at making twitter clones and rewriting internet to work on a single mobile device, but in general it seems to me there is rather nothing to be happy about long term

Although I don’t agree with everything that’s being said here. I see that Nostr is evolving to reach the ideal you are talking about.
Some clients tried to censor some content in the past, now they are giving more choice and power to the user.
bots, scammers, fakes exist here too ! Some effort to curate the explore feed are also done to tackle this problem, shared mute lists, etc..
So we are moving collectively in the right direction I think 💜🫂
And that’s why people are happier on this platform than anywhere else 💜
And you actually get to meet people IRL!! 🫂

At one time Primal had a ‘Trending’ section that was curated by Primal, they prevented NSFW content to appear, this purposely blocked OnyxVixen which people didn’t like, and accidentally blocked people like Ralph, and people really didn’t like that.. Since, they have moved to a ‘user’ based curated system where they stay out of it.
All good now, but caused some drama.
And yet, this place is still so civil and energising?! Without any rules - it’s amazing. If this is a bubble I kinda don’t mind if it stays that way. It’s certainly a haven of sorts
