Ah, gracias for tagging me. To be honest recently been wondering if I am getting enough protein as been finding myself eating about a pound of raw meat a day the last week and a couple or more raw egg yolks. I am just experimenting.

Though, as a general thum of rule I try to follow for my weight 15 grams of protein every 3 hours of the active part of my day. For a bigger person might be 35 gr. Or more.

I have no expertise in this by no means. And there's factors to consider like age, weight, and level of how seentary or active a person is.

General rule of thumb for beginner carnivore is don't count calories and eat as much as you want, eat to satiety for the first several weeks. Your body will take a bit of replenishing malnourishment. Eventually, you will notice you begin to readjust once your body is well nourished and gets the message you won't be starving it.

I've had periods I've eaten three steaks in a day.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing the tips Diyana! So you are actually on a raw meant and eggs diet?

Yes. I am actually eating raw meat and raw egg yolks right now the last week or so. I do drink coffee... I drink it with raw butter and MCT oil right now. I did have some fruit the last couple days. And some honey sweetened Honey Mama lavender rose chocolate. It's been kinda weird I feel like my cravings for chocolate have increased around the raw meat intro but I am limiting it. Allowed myself some today for some comforting cos I felt like crap and hung over from drinking two glasses of red wine last night at a birthday party. I don't nlreally normally drink. Huge mistake. Would have done way better smoking herb or microdosing lol to satisfy the desire to imbibe.

Lol. Ive read your post. Same for me with wine, it's a love hate relationship. Love it today but hate it tomorrow.

I think a few years ago I was surprised some people ate only meat. Although I'm a huge fan of meat. And now raw mean 😂

Is it like raw-raw or something like African biltong?

Curious what's your diet like and why you are even inquiring about the carnivore. For me it is medicine. Earth medicine. Not pharma symptoms covering medicine while making you sicker.

Many reasons, but most important health. There are some things bothering I guess mostly related to stress/anxiety. Doctors I don't trust.

Apart from that, I love meat. It's fast to cook. Not much to clean after. Efficiency:))

But right now I'd eat an omelette for breakfast with about 300-400ml of beef broth and like 40-80g of dried beef. Rice cakes+butter and some type of cheese. Then I'd eat some fruits. And dinner is steak, salad and maybe rice or bulgur, walnuts.

That's it.

And coffee, mornings only.

Microdosing herb :)) keeps you functional and fun

What I hear everyone say is that you should eat whenever you’re hungry and not pay attention to calories etc. My experience is that eventually you start eating much less than you used to. Also make sure to have appropriate fat intake (50% protein and 50% fat) or you might not feel you have enough energy. Hope that helps!

Thanks man, Ive heard that as well. Just wanted some estimates so I can calculate monthly expenses on this :)

It’s gonna vary a lot depending on your needs. I work at a desk and don’t exercise very often (to my shame!) so I find I eat very little. Eggs and bacon at lunch and a steak at dinner, occasionally something extra.

I’d say plan for a week and see how you feel energy-wise and you can then get a better estimate. If you’re only starting though your body is gonna need time to adapt, so it’s tricky to plan ahead! Good luck, it’s kind of life changing if you stick to it 😎

Nice man. Get a gym subscription though 💪

I tried carnivore before and failed. Now for the past year or so I'm eating steak daily for dinner. But I would also eat some rice/bulgur and a salad.

Thinking now to ditch salads, veggies are also expensive 😄

These are some tips someone shared in the crowdhealth telegram.

"Hey there

If you’re going full carnivore it really is as simple as:

- only eat when you’re hungry (might be 3 times a day initially, eventually you’ll probably get to 1 meal a day, sometimes 2)

- eat until you’re comfortably full

- always salt to taste

- only eat animal-based products

- prefer fatty red meat

- don’t be afraid of fat, animal fat is awesome, you need fat, you’ll die without fat

- always eat eggs with yolk

- only cook with butter, tallow or lard

- be careful with too much dairy and if having any, be very mindful of labels if you can’t find them raw (might be a good idea to start with only butter and reintroduce other dairy later)

- zero seed oils

- zero processed food

- drink plenty of water"

This right here works for me.

Thanks, this is great!

This is basically it, to be honest, as long as you prioritise red fatty meat. Keep it simple.

If you want to be super strict about it, try to get at least 1.75gr of protein per kilogram of lean body mass. A fat to protein ratio of 1:1 works well, although some might need 2:1 initially if you're feeling fatigued.

Thanks doctor, appreciate it!

Good to know this is exactly what I’m doing! 😎

Listen to your body?

Carnivore is weird, you don't feel hunger and you don't feel full, eat when you desire the meat and stop when it no longer taste good

Haha, after eating only steak for weeks is there still desire?

Id say so, yes

If you are having cravings for anything....

Eat more meat.

It's that simple.

Good rule of thumb to get through the adaptation phase I guess?

It really just depends on the person. Eat until you’re full 😌
