#MentalHealth Awareness. These are the habits that helped me when I struggled with chronic migraines:

Eat primarily animal based protein.

Cut out highly processed foods.

Get to sleep before midnight.

Move around for at least 2 hours day.

Get some sunlight on your skin and fresh air everyday.

Cold showers/ice baths or hot saunas.

Do work that is meaningful to you

Stop watching TV.

If are going to use social media curate your feed so it helps you develop yourself and learn.

Fasting, drinking only water.

Read the bible for 10 mins everyday.

Worship God!

Is there any other habits I am missing that helped you?

I also think the term of “mental health” is incorrect.

I think the term should be “spiritual darkness”

I genuinely of the belief now those struggling from mental health like I was are just possessed by demonic entities. They have been living a lifestyle of sinful pleasures and some form of immorality which cut their natural connection to God off that’s when mental illness starts to manifest.

We all need God in our lives to be saved imo.

Adding to the list

Eliminate, or at least reduce, alcohol

Strength training, and stability, mobility training

I should have said I quit binge drinking as well.

Great point.

Yes lifting weights, looking strong and lean helps as well for positive self image.

Fuck yeah. However I argue that if someone gets jacked from lifting heavy weights they will also have good balance with strong joints and connective tissues, no specific training required.

And lifting weights is very important, beyond looking great and feeling good about it, also to keep muscle mass as you get older, to live longer, avoid falls, etc. I got this the the book Outlive by Peter Attia.

Yup my goal is to build a giant suit of meat armor for myself before I get old. Want to get my squat past 500 pounds in the next couple years.

Oh I just listened to that dude interviewed on the Jocko Podcast!

Send us the proof of work #gains and share your progress on nostr. Could help inspire lift more nostriches up.

Here is me squatting 405 pounds about 6 weeks ago. Been using the Starting Strength method. Very effective, they train old people too, which is strong signal, if it gets gains for grandmas it will work for anyone. There is a lot of noise out in the "fitness" world to cut through, but weight on the bar doesn't lie. Last year I thought 315 was a lofty goal. https://nostr.build/av/144c0a29b9a142272c629dce5bbfc7a714301490dbe344498a567b8757c1cd96.mov

That's a solid squat. Nice work, man!

In SS gym no less. Very cool. Wish there was one around here.

They do online coaching and programming. Not as good, but that is an option. They have been starting a lot of those gyms.

Yup. I do online with the Strength Co. They make all those cool looking black plates.

Oh nice! Yeah and the Texas steel racks with wooden benches, and the Rippetoe quotes on the walls.

Beast

Absolutely spot on!

Oh yeh also look into Nose Breathing.

A lot of evolutionary scientists are of the belief man is design to breathe through the nose instead of his mouth.

Breathing through your mouth can cause sleep issues, snoring and inefficient oxygen. Also, better for the jaw and teeth to breath through your nose.

I love all of these, currently am a similar work in progress ❤️

I been healed from chronic migraines for 3 years now. But I continue to strive for good health.

Yep. This seems about right!
