If alcohol is so bad for you, then why did Jesus turn water into wine?
If it’s good enough for Jesus Christ, it’s good enough for me.
Being sober is essentially blasphemy.

😂
The word of the lord.
pouring one out for our saviour right now
Lord, hear our prayers.
Once in a while sometimes not for years sometimes , few times a year I believe natural high is better
Well, a lot of people are functional addicts, and there’s a problem that we could only interact with people when you’re drunk, drinking is not good once in a while I believe it’s okay , most couples, and most people can’t even have a relationship without some alcohol, or they can’t even have intimacy without alcohol
I was just about to start reducing my consumption, thanks Walker
Water, Sugar and Yest.
I'll be waiting for my nostr branded beer 🍺.
I made one delicious wine but from grapes 😏
this is why we nostr 🍷🍷
Alcohol was good back then because if you drank the water you died from Dysentery (see Oregon Trail).
Did Jesus turn dirty water into clean water? No. He turned it into wine, at a wedding… like 600+ liters of wine…
It’s clear JC was trying to party.
They couldn't conceive of clean water back then. But they did understand that they didn't die after drinking booze. Plus, it was fun so two birds with one stone.
This checks out.
He was becoming an influencer, building a following.
If this a parody on modern politics/extreme takes?
😂
Drink whatever you want but don't put yourself or others in danger. It's always good to keep your wits about you.
This is why I gave up on vodka. Can't remember the last time I had a good time with it.... because I don't remember shit in the morning 😂
Perhaps that's good though 😆
🥂
Everything in moderation
life was very different 2,000 years ago. most of the people then died young by our standards and didn’t have to worry so much about the long term affects of alcohol. in the long run, alcohol is a shitcoin. quit before it ruins your health. peace.

Drinking and parties and whipping bankers WWJD
That's why I'm always crazy like this, always changing water for wine 🤓
its enough to just like getting high.
you don't have to make a whole religious rationalization out of it.
Alcohol doesn’t get you high.
lol
OK bro
Have you ever had alcohol..?
devoted alcoholic for 15 years
casual drinker for another 15
if you think simple sugars don't get you high
youre probably pretty alienated from your bodily sensations.
or just making shit up 🤨
alcohol is one of the most basic carbohydrates.
Most alcoholic beverages contain carbohydrates, but alcohol itself is not a carbohydrate.

tell me you never tried Absinthe without telling me you never tried Absinthe 😅
The human liver is evil and needs to be punished.
- Old Testament
Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. Praise to salvation in a can!
- New Testament
Sometimes I am drunk to the Holy Spirit, does this work, too!
If you are turning to religion to justify drug usage, it sounds like a stretch. Sorry.
Alcohol in His day was remarkably weak compared to alcohol today, and the Bible condemns drunkenness. Frankly, I see no point in alcohol. Smells like crap, supposedly tastes like crap, poisons your liver... All to temporarily escape your troubles.
Never had a drop, never will. If people enjoy it, that's their choice but I'll never be able to understand it.
This is a baptist tradition u assume true bc the boomer pastor told u it, but is not accurate. Reread this miracle account. Only the servants knew what he did. Master of the ceremony tells the groom u bring out the good wine first and the cheap wine second, but Jesus wine was the better. u bring out the good wine BEFORE people aare buzzed so they appreciate it and the cheap after when they are past caring.
Drunken-Ness is not acceptable but repeating a biblically inaccurate traditional baptist line is damaging.
Quality does not mean that it's stronger. This could mean the flavors is better. It's not damaging, the world would be way better off without alcohol. I can tell you that much right now. While y'all fry your brains on that literal poison (includes weed), you're not doing anything productive in your life or in society.
It is supreme weakness if you must fall back on alcohol in the face of difficulty. Escape the prison and find your way to freedom.
I'm simply saying don't use the bible as ure backup for this opinion because it doesn't back you up. Drunkenness is a sin. Alcohol consumption isnt.
It does back it up, actually. There are passages that talk about being sober (and not just in mind). Sure, a sip of wine at Christmas or other festivities isn't bad, but nine times out of ten, alcohol consumption goes far beyond that.
Scripture prohibits drunkenness, plus when Jesus said this, he said it in context, because people were doing so much sacrifices like blood sacrifices, I believe that he was speaking in a metaphor, and probably was talking about grape juice, …..
Yeah, Noah passed out naked in his tent because he had a little too much grape juice. Pfff.
Like how does pouring alcohol into the ground it’s in memory of someone people are always only taken in term of the body, but not the soul was such a deep conversation. It’s actually becoming uncomfortable.
Yeah you’re right you’re not the one who started the conversation I was someone talking about it somewhere else but I get it it’s just an uncomfortable conversation is going somewhere I don’t like with people I don’t wanna talk to
Jesus turned (some) water into wine because he understood scarcity & human nature. Excellent marketing really, since we're still here talking about it, and folks pay a huge premium for wine over water these days. 😏
Mostly because back in the day water was bad for you. It had bacteria in it. Alcohol didn't.
There were no added sulphites.
Initially, I thought this was a nostr:nprofile1qqs2gndun24r2utk5l20tscsdprw5zttvm0qk58w8xhl2ja2kmzt7jcpremhxue69uhkummnw3ez6er9wch8wetvd3hhyer9wghxuet59uq36amnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwvf5hgcnvda3kkcn0dakjucm0d5hsz8nhwden5te0dehhxarj94c82c3wwajkcmr0wfjx2u3wdejhgtcttvhk5 note.

Well said. I’ll light up a doobie on that note. Praise jeebus ✊🫶🤝
I didn’t like this on X, and I still don’t like it in nostr.
We should debate this on a camera :)
Euros too dumb to realize that they derived alcohol because
1. Shit options for food
2. Helps not freeze in winter
It's just a product of the harsh environment
In a comfy world it's just a crutch for the genetically weak
Before modern times, drinking water was often risky. Efficient water filtration methods didn’t exist, making it nearly impossible to store and keep water clean, especially in southern regions. In contrast, wine was safer.
The following passage from the Bible supports this idea:
“Be no longer a drinker of water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.”
So, you’re absolutely right.
This seems legit.

It’s all about balance and responsibility. Even good healthy home cooked food is bad if you eat to much of it.
Reality is for people that can't handle drugs! LOL
Amen Brother!
getting drunk is a sin according to the Bible (God's word)
😂 💯

Because they didn't have clean water back then, diluted wine was safer to drink. The question is: Why didn't Jesus miraculously produce a water purification plant?
Replied to this on X and didn’t get a response, but drinking alcohol and saving in bitcoin is an obvious contradiction.
One drink can disrupt your metabolism for up to 72 hours...
it also disrupts sleep quality and increases cortisol.
Drinking alcohol is high time preference behavior.
If you want to experience the bright orange future you should treat your body like your bitcoin stack.
Bible verses don’t change hard science.
French will say wine is wine, not alcohol!! I guess we’re good
And you're sure that the Bible isn't a plot by Big Alcohol to sell more wine?
He also spat in the dust and rubbed the mud in someone's eyes to cure blindness. I don't recommend putting mud in your eyes to help poor eyesight.
They had less than half of you estimated lifetime.
My family has been selling alcohol, traditional british real ale, for over 200 years
Markets hardly slowing down... Ie people demand it
The health dis-benefits are getting clearer and clearer though, so long-term I think that's a threat to the business
You know how I know Jesus was an alcoholic? Every time I drink his blood it tastes just like wine. 🍷
