and if anyone can teach me how to customize the UI/UX to an IOS looking or feeling one lmk anything close to it helps

Biggest thing you can do is download a third party launcher for your home screen. There's numbers of them with Apple themes that will keep it familiar.

Saylessss that’s freaking awesome 🫑πŸ”₯

One thing to note is checking the launcher permissions to limit network access and preferably use ones that are open source. Since this is essentially an app acting as an interface so you don't want one that is tracking everything you do and reporting back to some shady place about what apps you're launching regularly.

You have any recommended ones ?

It's been so long since I was into customizing my device that I can't even remember the ones I used. I don't even change ringtones on my devices these days. I'll look to see if I see one that looks okay to use.

If you like customizing, you are going to love Android πŸ’œπŸ«‚πŸ‘ you can change almost anything.

This is tempting

Pixel

Yep Pixel. Then flash on Graphene or CalyxOS

Yes bro, this is the way!!! Amethyst is like 10 years ahead of silly damus

Pixel 6 or 7.

Easiest ones to add your own OS to.

Avoid most big brands as they lock the OS down from a hardware level.

The grand majority recommended pixel over Samsung so that’s what I’m gonna buy 🫑 s o o n e r than later I’ll be annoying you for features πŸ«‚ hahahaah

I love my Samsung, so does my wife, and we have a Samsung tablet. Samsung is nice

Don't ever limit yourself. You use whatever phone you want man.

Oh god I can’t wait to hear what he has to say about this after I’ve giving him so much shit about this 🀣 he’s prob receiving me with open arms to the droid side

the first item of business... the "Droid" line was from Verizon. it's essentially the "Shitcoin" of the Android world. the Droid line was centralized from Verizon and they were in full control of these devices as they all came with locked bootloaders, unable to be rooted, ROMed, or even switch carriers. Back in the day, if you said Droid when referring to Android, you would get tarred and feathered. πŸ˜„

Oh shit hahaah I didn’t even think about it like that I was just tryna shorten android

My man.

Pixelchain!

Pixels are nice, I'm on a 6a, and for a cheap phone it is fast and reliable, good battery life too. Can run Graphene OS as well, if you want to de-google yourself!

Camera is great too!

I feel Pixel is an absolute answer to iPhone. Clean OS + Pixel exclusive features are just 🀌

buying a Google phone with de-googling in mind seems counterproductive

You might look into graphene OS. The Google's pixel is cleanest android phone you can get.

Waiting for that coming 🀘🏼

Wait, what about SOLANA phone πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

Different people have varying usage scenarios. Google has the most open bootloader of all Android phones. They build it so you can do this. No different than every time I buy a Windows machine and install Linux without even checking windows out.

not at all familiar with Android bootloaders

gotta read more into it

Google Pixel. Buy from Swappa.com if you're looking for used and store.google.com if you want new.

Buy a Pixel 6, 7 or 7a and install #GrapheneOS onto it.

I have a Pixel 6 Pro for Android software. iOS as the daily driver tho.

This is what I’m looking to do too, IOS will remain daily driver 🫑

I love my Samsung, it's camera is the shit, I record all of my videos with it. And take the best photos

First photo is 50 ft away zoomed 20x

Second one is up close. It's a s23 Samsung, my husband has the s22 and we have a Samsung tablet. My phone takes the best photos though, and that's the only reason I ever get a phone is for the camera πŸ“· πŸ™ƒ and I like how easy Android is to use

Riiiighhhhhhttt

2nd photo didn't load

I bought a used Google Pixel 6 PRO, which I installed #GrapheneOS on, and I'm pretty happy with it. I very much enjoy the Amethyst client as well

I’ll prob grab the same phone πŸ€™ for amethyst use only

Sorry it had to be this way. But glad you're sticking/coming round

🀣😭 iPhone will still be daily driver 🫑 this is will be just for notes & other stuff

Nostr dedicated phone🀷🏽

Yuup! 🫑

Well. Like I said glad you're sticking round 🀷🏽

πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ«‚πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

πŸ€πŸ–€πŸ«‚πŸ–€πŸ€

been cycling through Xiaomis lately

using the Redmi 10C currently

I'm a happy owner of a google pixel 4a. This thing is running smoothly for over 2 years already. I'm an android user from the birthday of android phones so it's like a natural habitat for me using it. I also never bought an expensive android phone because there's no need to.

If you like phone photography, you should give Pixel a chance.

Pixel 5 $150. Thinking about getting one to mess around with

Too slow.. get the 6.

I only really use my phone for viewing notes and other stuff

Pixel 5 will only be supported for another year. After AOSP stops supporting that platform, you'll stop getting software updates and lose access to several apps.

I recommend looking into Invizible Pro after getting an android. Its a completely free Tor VPN + DNScrypt + firewall + i2p router. Amethyst can use it as an Orbot alternative and you can use the Adguard DNS' to block ads as well.

Ive used it for a while now.

That’s awesome! Gonna def use πŸ”₯πŸ«‚

used Pixel 4a from ebay new or used. Great Cheap device with a good camera.

A pixel user would never know what a photo of a sony phone looks like without having processed it bugged 😁

A pixel and sony user would never know what a Samsung screen is like.

A mediaatek or Samsung phone always comes to a halt in front of snapdragons

Ebay used pixel pro 6, 7, 8, etc. At least 6 or 8gb ram

This. And then install Grapheneos.org

Its the ultimate freedom kit.

Get Pixel 6 or better...

Swappa.com I got a pixel 4a there. Great phone and price.

Pixel is the way to go... Get a preloved model that your budget allows

If you can spring for a pixel 6 or better that's ideal, make sure you buy an unlocked version, refurbished models on amazon aren't bad. Don't listen to the haters, graphene isolates any hardware that poses a risk.
