Primal: slow to load new content

And not really. I’ve churned through a lot of them, and always end up opening Damus. If I had to pick something I’d say I’m ready for mute words in Damus, but good things come with time.
same here, Damus is least buggy it seems
Performance is amazing. Nostur is really good, and every time I blink a new release is out, but nothing is as good as Damus as being fairly reliable to load what I’m scrolling, and handling the rapid fire app switches I do all day long.
Call it “time to scroll.” Nobody else is as fast as Damus from tap-to-open to scrolling feed. (On iOS, I’m not current on Android)
Damus, and I agree with the summary by Samecat.
One gripe is that it is sometimes difficult to load the parent note in a thread, or load a thread from a reply.
I would love a low data toggle in Damus. But that’s nitpicking.
Current Damus is so slow compared to the local relay version 😏

My zaps always stop working. I'll connect a wallet and zap but later they seem to never go through and I have to reconnect. Pretty sure I don't have any small limit set in NWC.
I don’t have a problem with zapping through NWC.
But my Zaps notifications page is blank. Other notifications are ok.

I thought amethyst translates automatically?

Right - I use the fdroid version with ntfy for push. But I may switch to the Google play version for the translation.
Congrats on running an open source version. Ntfy is hard to set up!
Translations and notifications work straight out of the box on Google Play version... But some corporate tracking included 🤭
I installed the Google play version for like 5 minutes and felt dirty. Back to fdroid 🤣 I guess I didn't need translation that badly

Primal. Search is pretty bad. Typing has annoying bugs. Tagging people is difficult since I need to remember the exact tag instead of a popup list.
But it has been getting better with time. I expect most of the bugs will be worked out this year. It's pretty solid.
A general Nostr gripe (and I have no idea how to solve this) is that I have to give a client my private key. I think people will be rugged this way if Nostr goes mainstream. Yeah, I could give it to Alby or something but that's only slightly better. Admittedly, interacting on the platform is simpler this way.

Satellite. I like it's threaded conversations, communities, and it's clean Reddit like interface. Much more is coming from this developer.
Amethyst. my only gripe is that when I'm typing a reply to a longer note, the show more button to see more of the original note does nothing.
but I also am using the version from the Play Store so it's probably fixed in a later version.

Nostur is the best all-around reliablity and feature wise. It has UX inconsistencies and a lot of features that add complexity and not always working as expected.
A huge achievement for a one-dev app 🤙
PS. I wrote this already once with Damus but for some reason only two of my relays show online. Not sure why. It just eats my notes (no notice that they are not sent). Happened for a few days and for a few notes (I haven’t changed settings).
noStrudel isn't great with emoji and notifications and will wipe some profile parameters (banner) set in other clients
Primal (Web) doesn't display the new notes automatically (or even when you press the home button) and it lacks repost / reply filters
They're both amazing though
I would like to see an icon when there are new notifications in noStrudel. But I haven't had issues with emojis - what do you run into?
I can't find what I'm looking for easily when typing a note. In Primal I can press : then type orange or salute and it always find what I need.
Also, the reactions are too limited. I need orange heard, purple heart, salute, etc.. I know I can add my owns but it's a hassle and it's clear some other clients have them built-in.
noStrudel doesn't notify when you get news followers
Primal sometime gives you fake timeout when posting notes

I’m happy using Damus on my phone.
On my mini at home primal web.
Sometimes primal web gives me little issues.
However on my friends setup, she’s android so primal phone, I can hashtag but couldn’t @ tag? Maybe update. Or I’ll have her amnethyst. She has to use both for certain features.
I really like Damus and Primal on my phone which is where I spend most of my time on nostr 🫂
Mostly Primal and yes I like it.
My main issues are slow loading, different reaction counts in home feed and on main post and so on.
Nothing that can't be fixed.
Also the Android version is not yet feature complete.

I just installed Primal and I love it so far.
Damus and Primal, daily. My native wallet on Primal has disappeared and My wallet on Damus shows no incoming zaps for the last 5 days. But the devs are working on it. I love both clients for different reasons.
Primal! I can upload images, more than enough for what I do... I haven't tried with video, not sure if it's possible, but for now, just that.
primal is my favorite of the clients so far. love seeing zap counts

Use nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 , it has its flaws and I wish it had a built in wallet like primal does but no matter how much I use other clients I always come back to Damus.

I’ve been swapping between Damus, Primal and Plebstr.
I think they all have good points. Damus is the most painful and clunky. I like the follow suggestions in Plebstr, I like the inbuilt wallet in Primal. Plebstr doesn’t seem as efficient on compute.
Plebstr is becoming my favourite I think, it’s just more intuitive
Primal on the web. Main gripe: When I create a post or reply, it doesn't show up on the feed right away. At first I thought it was just lost. Re-typed it only to find later that I had posted the same thing twice.
Plebstr. I've tried Amethyst and Primal, but Plebstr won me.
1 thing I would like fixed, is sometimes the links are broken in 2 parts and thus don't load properly.
Not sure if it's only Plebstr or other clients have this as well.

Tried Damus on ios but pretty clubky. Primal much better, but the text exiting Ii replies Ii really weird. No auto-capitise on new sentences. no double-tap space to get a full stop auto-correct only corrects sparingly. and Ii chnages any two letter words starting with "i" into "li", usually but not after usibg dittos if it feels like it
also, tge iOS version doesn't have the "Wallet" in Settings to allow you to chnage your wallet see scrennshot. (Nope, you won't, as it looks like uploading photos is hit and miss been "uploading" for 10 minutes so if assume it's a no go )
Primal mostly but the occasional Damus for iOS.
Poor cell service seems to work a lot better with Primal.
Would like first word capitalization and double tap space for period on Primal. But I will say it makes me better at proofreading before sending.
Primal I want to be able to look at a note and see who zapped or reposted.
Android is Amethyst.
A local cacheing of notes would be nice. Download the notes when connected and read through them later.
Poor connectivity is the norm for most of my day.
