what is ranch? πŸ€”

No way...

*added to the list*

Also delicious. Kinda "basic" but still good. Dip your pizza crust in it, authentic fat guy North American diet!

Wait, people dip their pizza in sauce?

i am confusion

Just the crust... Right people?

When science become a bullying factor.

A primitive data type Boolean is.

Maybe the pizza too if it's cheese only πŸ˜‚

Yes. Marinara, ranch, whatever you want. I prefer a nice butter garlic white sauce, like you would put on Fettuccine Alfredo. Mmmm, delicious crust coated in fat πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‚

Never had any of those sauces before that you mentioned πŸ€”

I’d be obese in the US, I swear

Congrats btw πŸ™

Thank you, it is literally the most important task I have ever completed. It pays me dividends every day πŸ’ͺπŸ’œπŸ€™

Just don't get a job cooking because you'll likely regret it.

how so?

Working in restaurant kitchens is a hellish firestorm of a job. It's hot, knives everywhere, and it is hectic and stressful. Don't recommend πŸ˜‚

I've been cooking since the mid 90s.

I've never made over 35k / year even as manager.

Meanwhile I have friends that over 150k (I'm happy for them and only blame myself for my $ issues)

The pros of cooking are that you'll never go hungry and you'll be able to keep your head above water.

The cons are that you'll likely ruin relationships, work 50+ hours a week, never have weekends or holidays off and will be eternally stressed out.

Alcoholism and drug use among cooks is rampant.

I believe that cooking is a skill that everyone should learn and can save you thousands of dollars over your lifetime. Yet it's a thankless (and addictive) job.

i’ve always wanted to work as a chef, or atleast complete a course in it.

probably the best skill you could have, and i’d say one of the sexiest πŸ‘€

You don't need a degree. Just a willingness to learn. And a sense of urgency.

Almost all "chefs" that I've worked with weren't worth the pot to piss in.

might consider it actually πŸ‘€πŸ€”

You also need thick skin.

Watch "the Bear" and "Waiting".

I do not recommend you work in a kitchen for vert long. It's not a good career path. I do recommend it if you have a plan to get the f out as soon as you've learned what you need.

Oh perfect, I like cooking shows πŸ’œ

Yeah, I’d just love to learn some strong fundamentals and gtfo

Here's what I served today for lunch

oh damn, looks really nice πŸ’œ how’s the work been to you as of late?

I'm an old man doing a young man's job. I'm burned out. I have a masochistic love hate relationship with the restaurant biz

anything you’d like to do instead at this point? πŸ€”

Right now all I need to do is sell my property in CA. My bills here in MO are less than 1k / month. So I can put up with a couple of days a week.

I'd love to crack the work from home thing. I just haven't figured out out yet

You could potentially startd doing some cooking videos from home, I’d love to watch them πŸ’œ Maybe some cooking courses also

Look at my website, that's what I'd really like to do, homesteading.

maybe nostr:npub1g3827ewz6d23rlgdhkaslc78gyule52ymcqdyt2hsxdwtlw8dt5q7dfpvg could help you out with that πŸ’œ

Sugar + grains +processed food everywhere. Cut them out/keep them to a minimum and things get better. Obesity is not necessarily a thing from overeating, but actually eating (processed) foods that are empty in nutrients which then leads to wanting to eat more

Don't forget seed oils!!! Use butter and beef tallow.

It’s not nutrients as much as fat. Without saturated fat inspired leptin there is no satiety.

I usually don’t, but it’s good if you’re having some garlic knots.

Garlic knots?

🀣

Please, vampire clowns.

As the matador has begged, I beg of you.

For once, I share your confusion

swear this is an American only thing

Ranch is on everything if you live in a state that isn’t near a coast.

Note to self: stay close to the coast 🀣

damn, same vibes with how everybody’s obsessed with the HP sauce in the UK

HP sauce is just worse A1.

*nods in hasn’t tried either*

yesss!!! Garlic sauce! My fav! to french fries! omomom

mujdei πŸ˜‹

πŸ’œπŸ’œ

This is American culture 🀣 shit never makes sense

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ as a europoor, i’m constantly lost

I’m sure I’d be the same as an American

What?!? Never heard of this. Not a European thing

Pizza is really just a vessel for ranch dip according to Mr E lol. We’ve clearly failed as parents πŸ˜‚

ask if he thinks pineapple and olives are great additions to a pizza?

πŸ˜‚

On the same pie?

not necessarily

Lol no. But I like pineapple

don’t worry about it, it’s just a phase πŸ’œ

JFC

it is true my friend

bruh

huh?

ranch is good too!

how good? like the best sauce all-time?

Funny thing that, time.

What is it?

πŸ€”

Interesting fact about Hidden Valley Ranch. When first formulated it was clear with black pebbles of pepper. They add titanium dioxide to make it white. I only know this because I knew the field food chemist who led the product development.

Is it originated from the US? πŸ€” Learning history about ranch today it seems like

It used to be white because it was made with cream. Then big corporate production requires profit margins, so it isn’t food anymore.

huh, isn’t food anymore? what are y’all eating over there? processed play-doh and coca cola?

Some people are, not this person. Homestead raised beef, pork, chicken, eggs, goat milk, cream, cheese and veggies here. If I need a chemistry text to decipher what it is, it isn’t going in this body.

Absolutely love it πŸ’œ Homegrown is just something else man

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ … I like it, but it’s not my favorite

hot ranch, what even is this anymore? πŸ˜‚πŸ’œ
