Most farmers are shit coiners... period. Farming has become so hard that you have to go for the high beta plays. Majority of farming isn't sustainable - food prices have sky rocketed as a result of there being a lack of chemical fertiliser, because three crud all nutrients in the ground, soil erosion is a thing. Farming is a shit coin. But all credit to farmers they work hard, but at the same time, it's about self interest, not about being Jesus and feeding the multitude.

The market demands, the fiat system and that same government pushed them into the position they are in. You cannot blame them for trying.
Farmers are businessmen trying to survive a power grab by the state. The state that serves a ideological agenda not supported by a lot of people outside the big cities.
Calling them shitcoiners is a lowball attempt of discrediting them.
What do you think will happen to foodprices when you take land from farmers? Besides that, production will just move abroad where loving conditions for animals are worse and regulation is more lacks when it comes to the environment. Government intervention tends to break more than it solves.
It's the fiat system that is unsustainable, it led to this. It will lead to a tyrannical government taking your land and forcing you to eat bugs because they will 'fix' the problem and because people rather have a scapegoat like the farmers instead of revolting against the system.
Seeing you are on Nostr, I assume you are a bitcoiner(somewhat doubting it because of your anti freemarket approach), I suggest you read some of Saifedeans' takes. He usually knows how to explain the effects of fiat on markets and governments.
What do I think will happen to food prices? what has already happened? Prices have gone up even though 2/3rds of farmland in America is in private non corp ownership. If you want to talk about food standards - steady on the US is the second biggest agr trader and the reason for this is, that it's food standards are horrible - low standards, means it can produce food cheap enough to dump on other markets. The largest food producer is the EU and has one of the highest food standards in the world - (for me Food production in the US is a shit coin on multiple levels because of lax standards).
Farming is inherently linked to the fiat system, they both go hand in in hand because they need each other. A lot of agriculture is broken in many parts of the world particularly because of government policy and the need to appease farmers as a political class. Governments need votes so they do things in favour of certain groups - whether that turning a blind eye to fertiliser run off, not enforcing stubble burning, allowing for the depletion of the water table for soy or cattle etc etc... Heck look into the Doha agreement, a round of trade talks that started in 2001 for just how cucked agriculture is.
Anyways, my point being is the system on the whole is broken and it's hard for anyone to do anything about it because at the end of the day you have to be able to eat. As I said farmers work hard, you can't take that away from them, some farmers even farm in sustainable ways which is great for the planet. However, many don't, many are just trying to make enough to get buy and that's enough for them.
Finally there's no such thing as a free market - 'regulatory capture' , as ultimately, regulators have the final say over anything. They pick both winners and losers, why because the can, they'e people at the end of the day who are governed by their own self interests
PS I listen to Safs podcast some of the stuff he writes and have read both the bitcoin and fiat standard but at the same time have my own take on things based upon my own experiences.
My problem with those farmers is that most of them practice centralized “fiat agriculture”, poison the earth with toxic chemical fertilizers and by doing so erode the soil including all of the beneficial microbiome. Most of them keep animals in inhumane conditions, feed them with unnatural foods, poison them with antibiotics and vaccines. Due to all of the above, the products they produce lack proper amounts of nutrients and often can even be poisonous. Any products that could potentially be still healthy they pasteurize and remove all the beneficials from them. So overall they do more harm than good.
I bet you don't know a lot of Dutch farmers.

Look up what percentage of all agricultural land is organic. Hint, it is approximately 1.5%. And this is organic, not regenerative which is an even smaller percentage. The country with the highest percentage of organic farmland is Lichtenstein with around 38.5%. This means that my statement about the majority of farmers in Nederlands practicing harmful fiat agriculture is most certainly is true.
So part of it is true? Try to be more nuanced because saying these animals live in bad conditions and insinuating these farmers don't care about their animals is bullshit.
Besides, who desides what harmful is (you? Science brought forth by government that has a different agenda? ) and wtf if 'fiat agriculture' anyway?
Look, I buy my food from a farmer that doesn't use antibiotics or pesticides. I support better farming, Dutch farming isn't perfect. But stop framing those other farmers like they are evil and governmental landgrab/intervention is justified. Don't like their business? Don't shop there.
Have you seen how animals are kept in most large centralized "organic" farms? Sure they probably have a better life than at the industrial farms, but they usually are still kept in relatively small indoor spaces without free access to to land and sunshine. Their feed is still unnatural most of the time as they are fed with grains, instead of fresh grass and insects.
Harmful is anything that is unnatural. Putting chemicals into the soil is harmful. Feeding cows with grains is harmful. Injecting animals with antibiotics and vaccines that contain a lot of toxins is harmful. Restricting animals movement and access to nature is harmful. Pasteurizing fresh produce depriving it of most nutrients is harmful.
I don't have beef exclusively with Dutch farmers, my beef is with fiat agriculture in general. And I definitely don't support anything that government is doing. Not in this case, not in any other. Government regulations are responsible for creating this industrial agriculture mess in the first place.
You don't have to convince me about your preference of farming practice, we share that. As long as you realize it's nothing but a preference, not some fact or moral highground which the state is allowed to enforce.
My point was, you don't seem to know much about Dutch farming. It isn't black and white like you make it out to be. There are countries, lthat use much worse farming practices.
It is the only ethical preference. Never had I said anything in support of gov actions, obviously they are criminal as usual.
As I said, no beef with Dutch specifically, but it is a fact that the vast majority of industrial agriculture in all of the world is often harmful to the ecosystem and tend to produce inferior products to regenerative permaculture alternatives.

In the Netherlands we still have paper ballots.
However we have an entirely different political system with not just red and blue. We have many parties, and the need to work together to form a majority. This means they always do promises before elections, but after they are elected 9 out of 10 promises can’t be realised because they have to work together with other parties and they demand to drop some specific things the other party promised.
It’s one big clownshow and totally not constructive. At the moment we have 4 parties working together blocking all ideas or things that oppose them. Nothing democratic about it anymore imo
In Czech Republic we also have many parties. They also have to create coalitions to be able to do rule. And guess what, all of them are socialist. Even the ones that larp as being on the right.

That's true. It's like trying to install windows 10 on a C64. But besides having to fix the system (first) we also need to vote for different people, a different generation. I mean look at the US and the avg age of their representatives or even in the EU. They've been playing with the same friends and in the same circles for generations.
