I recently fired my training coach (meal and training session planning) and hired an LLM to do the job.

Best trainer I’ve had thus far.

It definitely helps that I’ve probably read around 20 books on physical training for climbers and another ~20 books on sports nutrition, so I can direct the LLM with more precision.

But this is honestly absolutely mind blowing.

I've been doing the same thing with Claude Sonnet. A chef prompt keyed in on my activity levels and a separate trainer prompt for workout results. Very helpful but I've never had human pros for those jobs to compare.

If you already know what you’re doing human coaches are mostly accountability partners and they mostly shed light on your blind spots which conversational LLMs are even better at because they are literally 24/7 available.

Speed is a feature

Imagine if we can model LLM’s with the best trainers and teachers out there in the world.

The best info by the best teachers with endless patience for (nearly) free.

We all underestimate the impact of this for future generations.

The speed of change will be unrecognizable; even without LLMs improving from here, there will be massive changes.

I was a vegan for 10 years, now I eat anything and mostly do IIFYM style.

Training, I’m a big believer in the “squat every day philosophy” although I hate squatting so I squat 0 days but I do the practice that rest days are a psyops.

My best climbing days have always come after 7+ days of non-stop climbing at my limit.

Nice, I mainly stick to Paleo for the fact that I enjoy the majority of foods and macros it focuses on. I do incorporate grains though if it’s fermented.

Still figuring out training. Getting out of the mentality of needing to go to the gym. Looking to focus on more holistic fitness. Mobility, endurance, strength, etc
