Try telling a bunch of independent thinkers what they can think and you’ll find out why #Bitcoin is different than any other protocol.

For me, every attack on a person instead of an idea makes me want to look deeper into the idea.

Genius comes from the edges and has always been dangerous to the center. (or existing base of knowing)

Everything changes when you realize

that consensus is usually wrong.

If everyone agrees, question it. Crowds

aren't wise. They're comfortable. The

truth often lives on the edges.

Perceived safety in numbers as the herd heads straight for the cliff

If you live by this, you will apend your entire life as a non-conformist simply out of spite. Questioning things is righteous, but you should pray to God for discernment. Otherwise you will end up an isolated, uncompromising hermit when what built America is god-fearing farmers with small circles.

Isolation is my island. Been here for years.

Keeps the craziest away.

Good thing I have years and years of experience growing plants.

🤝

Agreed. From what little I understand from studying very primitive but effective “social” groups like insects, in material world, most of the time consensus is the most efficient solution. But occasionally radical and sometimes bizarre departures / abandonment from consensus are absolutely necessary for survival.

It's ironic that you're telling him, "you should."

Why?

His post is a response to Jeff posting about how people try to tell Bitcoiners and geniuses what to think, which is controlling and doesn't work, and you responded by telling him what he should think (and do), which is controlling and doesn't work.

It's hilarious. 😂

His nym is Charlie Kirk, and "should" is a suggestion, not a command

So you're saying I'm right. Thanks!

What happens if a lot of people start agreeing with this type of sentiment? Does that mean this is no longer true?

lol no, cuz if a lot of people agree that it’s important to try to be an independent thinker, it’s not just static, the next thing to do then is for each person to try to do that. it’s more like encouragement.

You’re basically just removing the idea of consensus from the person I originally replied to. Which I’m fine with. And also the thing that I was poking fun at about that comment.

yes I know. I was pointing out the logical loophole that makes your comment seem true and paradoxical. and that’s why I wrote ‘lol’, cuz I realize you’re being a little bit funny.

oh wait … I didn’t “remove the idea of consensus” from your response comment. 😑Consensus = agreement. I’m saying, they agree and have consensus on the shared values, then continue to try at being their own individual thinkers.

Core devs gashlight tactic.

#Bitcoin, like many paradigm-shifting ideas, didn’t emerge from mainstream academia, politics, or finance—it came from the fringe. And like all powerful ideas from the edge, it inspires both devotion and fear. That fear often manifests as personal attacks, ridicule, or attempts to regulate it out of existence. But for those who pay attention, those attacks are invitations. Invitations to look deeper, to question accepted truths, and perhaps to realize that what’s being dismissed or attacked might actually be the next chapter of progress.

I agree. It's usually the way I know what to check.

I have a mental illness that makes me think that people will change their minds if I present the correct arguments with the appropriate facts and data.

I’m afflicted with the same condition

😂

is there a support group?

Exactly 👏

That’s what makes #Bitcoin different, no one here gets to control what others think.

Every time someone attacks the person instead of the idea, it just exposes weak reasoning.

And as always, the things that change the world usually start at the edges, not from the center of power.

It is also how philosophers can mindmelt and get to new insights quicker. Other people can help trigger that great new idea.

GM Happy SATurday🤙🤙

Hence, why people who prioritize what works and ingenuity over cooperation and orthodoxy are comfortable telling and living a different story that can depart from popular narrative.

You're describing the healthy and functional intuitive thinker.

Independent thinking is the way to go

One of the most exciting things about #bitcoin is how it allows more ways of knowing to surface all around the world over time, once the weight of global hegemonic fiat is lifted.

character assassination is the surest sign that you can't argue on the merits of an idea

This was the genius of Satoshi being anon. If they were not you can be sure people would be attacking the person

So true Jeff , once the dialogue moves away from ideas to personalities, you begin to feel it is pointless to continue.

Yea? then why don't you go look into the "holocaust" and everything related.

The "group" who controls us now doesn't do anything but attack people with ideas.

He probably knows. But I don't blame him for not speaking out. He does enough other things to help the world

Well said, that’s its why the so praised Bitcoin Standard book by Ammous made such an unfortunate decision when focusing on (at times childish) ad-hominem attacks just deviating the attention and lowering the quality from the good points it makes.

Bingo.
