That month I created my account simultaneously to the following social media: X, Threads, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Nostr clients.
My content is nature and wildlife,.not original content ofcourse, but non political (so there is no ideology here) and for all ages appropriate.
The differences that I see.
👉 X: very difficult to make followers, a lot of (porn) bots, very difficult to have likes, super difficult to have comments.
👉 Threads: more approaching feel, less bots, easier to have likes and comments, followers are really interested in your stuff, people are getting super angry with sensitive material. My most viewed/commented/liked thread was about this trophy hunter who get killed from a buffalo. It was really tempting to post similar material to get easier followers but I resisted 😅
👉 Instagram: although my material is not mine (not original) I didn't think I would have success there. On the contrary, likes are ok, difficult follows, no comments.
👉 TikTok: a playground. The easiest social media to gain followers, likes like rain and full of comments. There is nothing like that in the market.
👉 YouTube: haven't posted yet.
👉 Nostr: well, it's (still) weird.
There is no engagement. What I mean is that personally I love nature from a kid. I don't do it exactly for *money*. I m doing to pass my time. There one only account on Nostr who publishes similar material, so you can't take ideas from here. You have to look elsewhere. Some likes here and there, less comments, and a notion that the follows are out of ..
pity 😅.
There is this thing that you cannot have exclusive username, except if you pay for Primal. And if I was a big like social media brand I would feel awkward about that. Apart from all the other difficulties with the clients - especially the fact that there are no help guides for the clients/apps and you have to spend a lot of time and read to get the grasl of it.
So yes, it's interesting what is happening here, but because it's different, I mean the place should be full of tutorials and help guides. In the contrary you really have to dig and find "proposed" relay set ups and such.
Relays 😅 yeah , that thing. I m reading also that you have to be aware of who owns the relays, but how on earth to know that?
Guys, you still have way to go.
