Anyone else not really missing Twitter all that much? As more and more of our friends from Twitter use Nostr, begin to see it's potential, see that we're building, and see how fast developers are iterating, the need for Twitter is going to shrink completely.

it's a platform that's becoming more and more irrelevant to me on the daily.
The rate of improvement has been insane
I only check back once in a while but have stopped posting. The people here are way more fun.
I try to post on both places, for now.
I have definitely spent more time on here. I find myself missing the ability to "like" posts, though. I could just reply with a 👍, but I think that would just get spammy really fast.
These times remind me of early Facebook days when everyone was moving over from 4chan & MySpace. Slow trickle & then a stampede 😅
Twitter will have to find a way to integrate #nostr or suffer the consequences.
Maybe they will in the next couple years?
If they take that long they can say goodbye to their future just like blockbuster did.

the only reason to use twitter at this point is to dunk on normies and politicians in the replies.. btc twitter (90% of my twitter use) is here now

This November we had Nostrember or something like that, and I barely used Twitter maybe once or twice. I uninstalled it from my phone, definitely helped.
That would have been fun to participate in. Did everyone uninstall Twitter?I wish I would have stuck around more in October or November when #[2] was pushing me to use nostr. Oh well. I'm here now.
A lot of the devs and many OGs pledged #NostrNovember to not enter Twitter. It was very cool indeed. We should do that more often!
It was a challenge with all the news breaking about FTX in real time on Twitter, but going back and forth for that month helped keep the app around my phone.
Twitter is absolutely a great place to get news. We need some Bitcoin news accounts here. That's all the new I really care about.

Jumping in to note: I’m able to read DMs but not the notification that I’ve received them when notification settings are tuned on.
Astral has been buggy like this the past day for me. I see a notification that I have a new DM from someone, I check and the DM is blank or not there, but then about 60 seconds later I check and it's there.

Cool. I just love how freeing it is to actually build what we want in #nostr as opposed to waiting/hoping for our tech-media overlords to someday give us the crumbs of something that turns out to just be a very limited API.

Twitter is noise. #nostr is the signal.
I felt this way when I left twitter for the fediverse, and now i feel like nostr is giving the fediverse a run for its money. twitter has honestly been completely irrelevant to me for at least 2 years or more
This is where I prefer to hang. The energy here is so much better. But if I want to absorb info or talk in group chats I still use Twitter

Missing things are TOR relays & onion URL's.
There are a few TOR relays. I saw mention of 2 of them. More could exist.

Are you sure? The client has to understand the .onion addresses... I'm not sure if Astral supports it.
definitely not sure if it works. The client adds it and saves. .onion relays added do not appear to broadcast.

Im not missing twitter but i do miss the traffic and memes.
I still miss Twitter’s feed , which shows posts from friends-of-friends and serves as a nice discovery mechanism somehow, but I know nostr clients will get there
I understand where you are coming from but mine is filled with trash ads and noise. Makes Nostr feel a lot more like home.
The ads from cheap Chinese crappy products that I now see since Elon took over is the worst. I will never buy a cup holder for my car that turns it into an eating tray. Nope.

To be fair, I’ve been seeing those ads on Twitter forever. If you use lists they seem to go away. Also, do they make up a new company name for every crapy product?
Right? It's the same crappy product line, but from a new Twitter account or company name.
As for the ads themselves, maybe I just finally blocked all of the companies that were relevant to me? 😂
I get nothing but HHS ads for people over 50 go get their 8th jab.

Same, I get nearly as much signal after 2/3 days of hunting for twitter people on here and almost 0 % the noise. The spirit, drive, and determination on here is infectious!
All it takes is for the greater (or more dynamic) part of a slngle online community to migrate. After that it’s self-reinforcing.
I think we're already starting to feel the network affects of that too. Last week I had people that were very adamant about not using nostr. I see them now posting here. But more importantly, I now see them helping to onboard others. :)
Yep, my attention has been consistently migrating here. I love feeling the edge of being early and bringing into view what's on the horizon. Also discovered https://keet.io/ this week. The future is full of hope.
