When Money Dies

👏 thank you

Right now? Im between books. Do you have a must?

don’t really think there’s a ‘must’. find what suits you ❤️

Nice answer, unexpected 😆

The Biginning of Infinity: Explanations That Transform the World #proofofbook

Great book! Top 5 for me 💯

That good??

💯. Physics plus philosophy. It’s dense, but digestible. I’ve read a few times and will do it again.

There is a good podcast that covers a lot of his work

Perfect, thank you so much Seth 💜🙏

Liking it so far? 💜

Literally just cracked the spine 😂 sounds like a page turner which is what I’m hoping. I read so many Alex cross novels by James Patterson and looking for a new series of murder and suspense!

Oh wow, don’t think I’ve read a novel in years 🤔❤️

I listen on audible to non fiction all the time. Podcasts. YouTubes. All good stuff to learn. But… Novels in paperback form are my favorite way to escape!

Audiobook

That’s an interesting one 🤔 Ancient history?

Yes, analyzing much of the ancient world and how we had some far more advanced societies in many ways than we live in today.

Listened to many of his podcasts and watched the Netflix series. Very interesting food for thought

Might watch the Netflix series, let me look it up 💜

Very good reading. Magicians of The Gods by him is also 🔥

I am currently reading notes on nostr

Recommend ✨

Is it like a travel diary? 🤔❤️

Both yes and no. Just started it tho, but loving it so far

By day: Web Development with Blazor - Second Edition, Jimmy Engstrom

By night: Executive Order - Tom Clancy

Just started The Secret History by Donna Tartt.

Should start reading novels more, feels like I’ve only taken the non-fiction route

A good novel is better than non fiction in my opinion. Non fiction lacks storytelling and fiction can still have a lot to learn from.

Let me know if you’d like nonfiction recommendations with excellent storytelling. It exists!

I would

The Library Book by Susan Orlean is the first book that springs to mind. I’m pretty sure the author could write a history of paint drying on a wall and somehow enrapture an audience.

This reads like a novel

I have other nonfiction book recommendations that are really good if you’re at all interested in the subject matter. These are just good storytelling.

Don’t hold back

Here’s a smattering. I can go into more detail about why I liked each one if you like.

Thanks need a new book so appreciate the recs

Don’t think I know who Timothy Keller is 🤔❤️ Liked the book?

He’s an evangelical pastor from NYC who’s well known for doing a lot of books and talks engaging with skeptics.

Really thoughtful and interesting guy, not your stereotypical “evangelical american”.

Sadly he passed away a few weeks ago from cancer. The book came out just before his death and is a really interesting read. They go through us life a biography does but from the perspective of people who knew him.

I don’t think I know who Chris Cornell is unfortunately 💜 How was the book?

I'm just getting started. He was a musician

#ProofOfBook just finished "The Uses of Pessimism" from Roger Scruton.

how did you like it? 🤔

Very much I should say, but left me a bit hopeless about humanity in general in the end.

2 books on deck right now.

a reread of cryptoeconomics by eric voskuil

energy and civilization by vaclav smil.

About to start:

I am currently reading:

* The History of Bees (Maja Lunde)

* The Creature from Jekyll Island (G. Edward Griffin)
