The WEF posted a positive story about bitcoin mining’s ability to soak up stranded energy and capture otherwise-leaking methane.

But they made sure to call it “data centers”.

WEF has a block in their throat chakra

🤦‍♀️

They will bend the knee.

I suppose we should take small victories where we can. It's still frustrating that rather than being intellectually honest and admitting an error, they've chosen to obfuscate their ignorance.

Hilarious 😂

Well I guess that's progress... they'll get there eventually.

Still feels like a 🚩 to me

AI computing, also pretty energy hungry, could use the stranded energy the same way as Bitcoin. Maybe that are the Data centers they have in mind.

Looks like their business is clearly crypto mining. Some more info from there: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/wef-mining-promo-video-causes-controversy-in-the-crypto-market/ar-AA1ai0iP

Comical. It’s inevitable they just don’t want the masses to know that. Gotta use it to further entrench their power before the average Joe catches wind of it

That was so painful to watch 😂

Hello

#WEF

They wouldn't dare say the word bitcoin in their stupid commercial.

😎 riiiiiiight....

I love this 🧡

North Dakota also used the term "Data Centers" for Bitcoin Mining operations in a few articles.

😂 oh well.. at some point the dam breaks... just a matter of time... then we'll welcome the flood of new bitcoiners with open arms.

GenAI: supercomputers one-time use each query

Bitcoin: supercomputers produce an eternally reusable asset

It has no sense. You can't put fast landline everywhere methane is. It's just not economical. This will remain #Bitcoin miners opeeations. Fact that they refuse to mentiin it's #Bitcoin showes they're against it but I guess they'll buy it themselves eventually(if mot already)

Pretty sure all windfarms have internet for remote monitoring / control. Same for wells?

Will it work as a datacenter if it's not very fast? I doubt it but I may be wrong.

Plus - cost of securing it from theft, fire and so on will be much higher when you have many small datacenters instead of just 1 or few. Decentralization isn't cheapest way of doing things and costs!

bitcoin mining doesn't need fas internet connections.

The WEF feels compelled to masquerade a mining operation as a data center because mining is considered an illegitimate use of energy. Yet the claim made is they they are using reclaimed energy to power the mining.

If it is truly only reclaimed energy (all of which would otherwise be waisted) then they need not hid the fact that it’s a mining operation.

So, either bitcoin mining has such a bad reputation that they must hid what the process is despite the fact that in this one case energy use is not illegitimate, or there is a plan to continue the mining process even at times when there is no waist energy available and it uses “non-waist” energy, whatever that might be.

No but see the WEF can't admit that the "Bitcoin destroying the environment" narrative is wrong because that's their narrative that's useful to them for pushing CBDCs.

Most CBDCs are on Ethereum. So they can say "Bitcoin is dirty and bad and kills baby seals, CBDCs are clean and good."

It's just another psyop to get people using CBDCs basically.

But it's not wrong. Yes it's a specific type of data center that's very different from all other data centers lol but still not wrong. And i guess you could mine other PoW coins too so data center is ok
