This is how app stores should be, direct from the dev tits, no middle man.

Tf is Yana?

Nvm, it's yours! Wen apk?

Posting this from yana.

Light theme needs some work

App made using flutter

Thanks for giving it a test. Will fix it tomorrow. How does feed scrolling responsiveness compares with Amethyst? ( which phone?)

It freezes a bit sometimes. i think when loading images.

Pixel 6a on graphene os

#[2] is great.

What sets it apart?

What is this app doing the listing?

Obtainium. The best android package manager.

No the user populates the list themselves with links to GitHub releases pages for these projects.

Obtainium is the best. Slowly moving everything over on my phone too.

Crop your dead battery out of screenshots.

Get a VPN.

Did not know about this. For people wondering what program it is:

https://github.com/ImranR98/Obtainium

#Obtainium saved my life! I was unable to cope with all updates for all my #FOSS apps. Will call it App of the Year!

You should add my little app to your list ๐Ÿ™‚

github.com/0ceanslim/satworth

You're missing the Polish Zloty (PLN) ;)

Then I will add it next just for you and lyk when I release it! I started with the countries that had the most #bitcoin adoption.

thought experiment: how would you stop malicious dev actors at scale?

I made a short tutorial on how to install Amethyst with Obtainium a while back.

What's the best way to add apps. Mutiny Wallet etc. I search for Mutiny but a lot of different things come up.

Either Github releases page or just search but sometimes there are too much results and its easier jist copying the GH link

Search for Mutiny wallet, should narrow down a bit

Got it. I was confused by web front end vs sdk option but was able to download the web front end and it's working nicely.

The only issue I have is with Brave and Tor Browser, if someone knows how to make them work on Obtainium please share

Yeah. For tor it works if you add armv7 in the filter release titles. Brave releases are a big mess, no luck trying to filter it out.

I installed tor in Obtainium through the Guardian 3rd party fdroid repo. Obtainium supports any fdroid repo as well and can be used as an fdroid client replacement!

TIL ๐Ÿงก

I don't see any files in the 3rd party repo

It's much easier:

1. Add the general url to the Guardian Fdroid Repo: https://guardianproject.info/fdroid/repo

2. Below where it says "Html source", click and change to " Third Party Fdroid Repository "

3. Write "tor browser" in the app name section

Ohhh, thank you very much! That was my las app to enter #Obtainium !

I also lost some time figuring it out ๐Ÿคฃ. Glad it worked!

Thanks for the tip, I was trying different configs of filters with no luck but now it works.

And yes, Bravereleases are a mess, there is no way to figure out how they treat releases.

Interestingly if you download it from the 3rd party #F-Droid repo the version is 12.5.2 rather than 12.5.1

Have you gotten the chance to try out mutiny?

Yeah, works great. Gonna try to self-host the websockets proxy.

I tried. Looks great but sometimes take a while to fire up.

Guess is improving. Love it

dev what now?! but agreed ๐Ÿ˜›

hot damn - #Obtainium is great for #GrapheneOS users for keeping track of your #FOSS etc installs - here is a how to vid: https://youtu.be/JiN37bn0OE8

Is there anyway I can import what I have installed already into Obtainium?

Don't think so

Does it verify that packages are properly signed orndoes it blindly trust GitHub as a source?

AFAIW it doesn't. But if you're using a googled android it will verify and warn you if the signer is not registered at play store. It would be amazing if Obtanium could verify them against a public key published somewhere besides github.

I agree it would be awesome having something like Obtainium that can verify signatures. Even if we had to manually enter the author's key in the app once, it would still retain the automatic update functionality.

And this is the reason why the #fdroid repo. model is always a better alternative. #obtainium is great, but just an escape hatch if your app is not on #fdroid

#aurorastore is last resort.

You can install the first package manually from Github. Afterwards you can upgrade with Obtainium trustless. Thats because Android wouldn't upgrade packages when signatures don't match.

This is the way

Does Primal work on Android? It looks like my feed doesn't load due to not connecting to any relays. Downloaded from IzzyOnDroid via Droidify.
