We are all watching. This is going to end up being a blessing, exposing how important it is for people to run their own nodes. Thank you for everything you do!

Appreciate it ๐Ÿ™

I just run a rpi + umbrel. Not sure if that helps. No miner tho. Maybe bitaxe one day

Watching now, thank you for taking the time to make this with prudence

What did you say/do to get kicked out?

He pointed out the obvious conflict of interest of people pushing for the change.

Actually he was banned for pointing out it was wrong to ban someone else for calling out the conflict of interest.

Can you post audio here too? Phase out yt

After watching this video, I uninstalled core and installed knots. At first I was uneasy, because I had some trouble earlier with core and the data of the blockchain.

I used the uninstall function of core. I installed knots immediately after. It just took over, where core left. Amazing. The whole process took about a minute.

Didnt have to redownload the blockchain? This seems pretty easy to do

The blockchain etc. is stored in a different directory (I use the original configuration) than the program.

Are these videos (not only this one, but others from nostr:nprofile1qqsq9k04vahllseell55m74n3047y88pzlr0z5yany32st29fapqmgspremhxue69uhkummnw3ez6ur4vgh8wetvd3hhyer9wghxuet59uq32amnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wdau8gu3wv3jhvtcjxsp3g as well) somewhere as audio podcast as well?

Thank you!

Thanks you sir!๐Ÿซก Keep bitcoin money.

Build another blockchain if you have some otherโ€geniusโ€ idea for bitcoin blockchain.

A silly serious question here, does the technical portion of the Bitcoin white paper detail how the transactions and mining be handled?

This is essential viewing if you value Bitcoin.

If you are running a node you should switch from Core to Knots immediately, it's very straightforward and you don't need to redo the initial block download.

If you aren't running a node you are a leech and need to get your shit together.

Bitcoin is money and spam filters have always helped maintain this. Other "use cases" create unnecessary demand for block space and are a fiat standard attack on the network.

If you mine (or just hash for a pool), switch to Knots, run datum to create your own block templates and split your rewards on nostr:nprofile1qqsq9k04vahllseell55m74n3047y88pzlr0z5yany32st29fapqmgsppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qy08wumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttsw43zuam9d3kx7unyv4ezumn9wshsm60rnh

Even if you only use Bitcoin as a store of value today, it is node runners and the network that maintain it as the best store of value. Get involved if you want it to remain that way.

Running Knots! ๐Ÿซก

Running #Bitcoin Knots

I agree with the argument.

And we are bitcoin, not core.

We run the software we want.

Ultimately, in principle monetary use is more valuable than non monetary use, so itโ€™s really just a function of adoption.

Bitcoin growing, is the absolute filter on spam.

When btc eats gold and beyond, how could a cat pic out bid monetary transactions for scare block space?

Anyone one that is an influencer online needs to be talking about this. Put aside all the institutional adoption for a moment and use your platforms to discuss.

Well Lameson Lopp is their Banana Boat brother so I doubt they will openly shit on him

This mechanism of attack is very sneaky. Magicians doing magic for evil IMHO.

Freedom!

Thank you. ๐Ÿงกโœจ๐Ÿ™

At the very least, that the vast majority of nodes are running the default software (i.e., core) - most likely completely uncritically in most cases, strikes me as an inherently systemic danger. Even if I were to run a node under the philosophy of blindly facilitating any and all transactions, i would seriously consider running knots with a customized configuration to do so; even if only for the sake of diversifying influence over the network software as a whole.

A US BTC STR makes them enemies of the state?

Going to start running knots today. Thanks brother for the info drop! Would love to see you and nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx discuss this.

Good points. Carefully crafted. Problems are much deeper, IMO. Needs exploring.

Salute to you

Fuck these people

If #Bitcoin Core is not corrupt and coopted they will restore Mechanic's access to the #GitHub PR

That's my two sats.

Also installing and configuring my Bitcoin knots instances.

Amen brother

Great video, thank you for all you do.

This is the same weak fiat parasitic rot that has been infiltrating all institutions... Makes sense it would attack Bitcoin through core...

Now people just need to take responsibility, and take action.

Running Bitcoin Knots.

Very good explanation of the current problem. You are the good person. Freedom above all

Thank you๐Ÿซก

You are a good Human ๐Ÿ™‡๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Is comparison of bitcoin node to Telegram or money really valid ? I mean is every normie supposed to run a node ? or a #bitcoin wallet ?

Or is wallet same as node ? Sorry for my ignorance.. but it gets really confusing with bitcoin wallets , lightning wallets and then #nostr wallets !

Every single bitcoiner should be running a node! Don't trust, verify. If you're not running a node, you're trusting someone else to not lie to you and your not enforcing the rules of Bitcoin that you agree with.

A "wallet" is just the key that proves you have ownership, it should really be called a key or signer. The bitcoin doesnt move into a "wallet", it's in the timechain/UTXO (aka blockchain).

But I heard bitcoiner nodes takes a terabyte of storage ! Besides the technical expertise !

And can you run it on phones ?

In my mind , most normies are supposed to use lightning wallets ..and only core bitcoiners would indulge in a node ..

Yes. Buy a raspberry and a 2tb sdd. Spend 200 bucks and protect your money. You are your own bank now

A Bitcoin node does take about 1TB to store the timechain. If you want freedom money it REQUIRES responsibility.

Running a Bitcoin node does not take a lot of technical knowledge if you are just doing the basics. There are a lot of guides and a whole #noderunner community to ask questions of.

There has been a lot of confusion for new people bitcoiners about what a Bitcoin vs Lightning node is. For those that came in being introduced to lightning only they get the use case, but not the core values. (Hopefully that makes sense). If you want freedom money and you want to protect your money you run a Bitcoin node.

Lightning nodes run on top of Bitcoin nodes, but you do not have to run a lightning node. Lightning nodes are high harder to run and they require higher end computers. That is where some of the confusion about node running comes in.

A basic Bitcoin node can be run on a raspberry pi, you just have to have enough storage and at least 4 GB of ram. A two terabyte drive is pretty normal now, as it's future proof.

Easy to run Bitcoin node software:

- MyNode

- Start 9

- Umbrel

- Raspblitz (I have not used, but apparently it's similar).

Hope that helps. ๐Ÿ™‚

Think of your Bitcoin transactions as individual passwords. These passwords are best stored in a password manager. A wallet is nothing else than a password manager.

The node is like an accounting system. You can either trust someone else's opinion on the accuracy of these accounts, or verify these accounts yourself.

(I wish there was an edit button - but it's good enough)

On second thought, I would have said:

I think of Bitcoin transactions as individual passwords. These passwords are best stored in a password manager.

A wallet is nothing else than a password manager.

The node is like a copy of a financial statement.

You can either trust someone else's opinion on the accuracy of this financial statement, or verify it yourself.

Yes you suposed to run a node if you care about your money.

Check out this website, itโ€™s very thorough and easy to understand.

Either that or use the orange pill app, trying to learn bitcoin here isnโ€™t all that easy.

Keep up the great work, sir. I'm too dumb to understand most of this stuff, so it's great to know that dedicated, smart, and principled Bitcoiners like you are holding down the fort on the technical side.

Part of me thinks, if bitcoin takes so much work and relies on people protecting it, then its probably going to fail at some point. Other part of me thinks that bitcoin is our shot at this new monetary system and we have to do everything to protect it, and the reason it wont fail is because of the inentives people have to maintain it so it is our duty to make good decisions. But if it can fail because of human action, it probably will? I donno, i literally just started running a pruned node on bitcoin core a little while ago after being "into" bitcoin for many years. ๐Ÿ˜† now i gotta run something else? Lol computer stuff isnt as easy for me now as when i was young. Should i just stop using bitcoin core at a minimum?

"Liberal vs conservative bitcoin" ๐Ÿ˜† liberals want more freedom to allow any types of transactions, conservatives want to protect the base use case. Yet bitcoin is about freedom to use money, but that very freedom is not intended for all uses of money because that could take away its use as freedom money." Hmmm am i getting this right? ๐Ÿค”

Thank you! Core has lost the plot here.

That's twice that I've heard from different sources about Core's corruption.

Just switched to Bitcoin Knots. Super simple with Start9

Bitcoin immune system activated!

So I need to run a nodeโ€ฆ

Thank you for lighting a fire under me.

It do be feelin' that way

I really don't get why the core Devs think that this is a good idea or that people would just roll over and let them do it without kicking and screaming.

Remember to hear the core side too, to make your own opinion.

The best solution is not to hear the one who should louder.

But listen any sides argument and counter ones, to make the best choice.

Switched over to bitcoin knots. More choices for node operators is the way to go.

Same thing can be said for Bitcoin vs shitcoins. We need to appreciate it for what it is. #bitcoin is money, not arbitrary data. Cash, not cache! Fix the Money, Fix the World. Vote with your node.
