Good idea #[1] .
These options would be useful:
1. Mute thread
2. Mute forks from the thread while the direct responses to the initial note are shown.
And, taking this a step further:
How about a notifcation tab that shows this:
⏹️ Note 3 --- [x new responses]
⏹️ Note 2 --- [y new responses]
⏹️ Note 1 --- [z new responses]
Then you can click on each note subject:
⏹️ Note 3 --- Visibility Options
[Full thread] - [New responses] - [Likes]
[Mute thread] - [Mute thread forks]
I love Aesops fables because they are understood from practical experience and can be applied in any type of situation. I like how the story conveys that force is often contraproductive without invoking any regulation.
The app cache can be well over 1 gb.
Clearing it often has drastically improved my experience of Amethyst:
Android settings -> apps -> Amethyst -> storage -> clear app cache.
Yes, and thanks also to everyone who just work hard and strive for freedom .🔥🔥🔥
Yes, this!! We did this in Sweden too.😄
We can fix most problems, but we can't put the twisted, curly, loosely hanging loops of VHS tape back where it came from and expect to see something approximating the same movie.
Let's see. I can tune a Commodore 64 cassette player with a screwdriver until it loads properly. I can dial an old type of wall-phone by pressing down the white disconnect keys a number of times. I can draw pixel sprites on paper and calculate each row of binary data. I can also destroy a perfectly good VHS movie by placing it in the sun.
Great and concise insight there, Guy.
Always a pleasure to hear about your art patronage, Stephen. Perhaps you will inspire more art patrons over time.
It's far more beautiful and uplifting to see voluntary art patronage in the free market, rather than seeing artists allowing themselves to become dependent on government funding, and the compliance trap they enter, in exchange for blood-sweat-and-tears money stolen from taxpayers.
While I'm not a mind reader, Elon's bizarre love relationship with doggycoin is indicative of a lack of ethics. Just to cover all bases and play the devil's advocate, there is the miniscule possibility that he is playing a strategy game where doggycoin is some kind of distraction, but I have a hard time to find compelling arguments in favor of that scenario.
Lists are a good tool to opt out from algorithms. I just added bitcoiners to a list and if any of them were too negative I would just mute them temporarily. The main feed was mainly good for catching those accounts that I didn't have on my list.
Agreed, although the EU seems like a mix of communism and fascism from my vantage point. We basically never left the system of feudalism. Public-private partnerships sounds a whole lot like fascism, while central banking is a pillar of communism.
ESG policies have been called the social credit score systems of business. They allow full carte blanche for governments to reward or punish companies based on assumptions of climate alarmism or the sophistry of Marxist social theories, both of which require priestly castes of astrologers that can't be questioned.
Good point and counter argument. The sitiation was similar in Norway where certain cities or municipalities announced corona passports. (They were delayed so I'm not sure if they were implemented, probably not)
This is an interesting conflict where the government can be less restrictive than a local municipality or state. However, we must not forget that these local decisions can be impacted by government control mechanisms where the government shifts the responsibility and blame to the state or municipality.
In either case, local tyranny can be escaped if we have mobility without restrictions. Since governments can restrict movement, it exacerbates the outcomes of bad local policies.
Anarchists are generally my kind of people. Lots of great, creative individuals with zest for change. Having more experimentation in terms of lifestyle options would definitely be a good thing.
That's also why the space frontier is inspiring; all the new possibilities that it would allow for, even though I would be buried and gone by that time.
I'm on the same page, I just use the terms voluntarism or free market.
Shrink government as far as possible, ie. this is an experimental approach and I can't know the optimal variables beforehand.
Let various jurisdictions compete for workers, entrepreneurs, capital etc. Individual liberties is then an arbitrage metric that can attract competence and prosperity.
Bitcoin makes this possible by enabling mobility and full property rights for all.
The final frontier is galactic decentralization where humanity establishes new civilizations on other planets and solar systems. That distant future involves the full spectrum of options and possibilities: pick which solar system you prefer.
I like the energy and pose silhouette.👍
Sorry, I'm not with you on your train of thoughts. Addiction is a rare phenomenon.
