damus relay now allows 200 subscriptions per connection
Not yet but i want that soon
yeah but you would need to write a script to do that
how are you hole punching?
I run one on my computer at home
yeah its just there to provide a reliable experience for damus users for day to day posts. there are no guarantees on retention. I would be skeptical of anyone making guarantees, even if paid.
indeed. I run a personal backup relay over wireguard. its also nice to push private events to like incoming bitcoin transactions, etc.

you can always launch with a custom relay set instead of having it follow your relay list:
./target/release/notedeck -r wss://relay.damus.io -r wss://nos.lol
because they optimize media. some clients don't, and is the most complained about thing on here (bandwidth usage, cache disk space usage)
notes should already be backed up on the user's device. they can "just" resync the device to another nostr node (TODO: actually implement this). I'm working on p2p backup between damus/nostrdb nodes so this should just happen automagically eventually.
i mean last time I did this was 2-3 years ago
strfry doesn’t really work that way
this damus relay is up and is running the latest version of strfry (latest negentropy spec). It’s currently empty!
going to load the last damus relay snapshot into nostrdb and see if I can make a fast nip50 search relay using that
when you figure out how to walk into linodes data center and install those then let me know
i have about 630GB of space on the damus relay
I am backing it up to my machine at home and I'll upload a large ldjson file of the snapshot
Then don’t use it
no the point of the damus relay is that its open to anyone. We already have rate limiting which stops it from filling up too fast
yes there is a good reason, i ran out of disk space
#notedeck is starting to get really interesting. we now have a notedeck_ui crate which is independent of the tweetdeck-style app.
we are building a standard library of ui components for building nostr apps. you won't need to think about the network stack, database, or even how to render a note. building an app will be as simple as:
ui.note(id)
in the same way building a website is a simple as
hello world
notedeck is the worlds first nostr browser. exciting times ahead.
awesome, let me know how it goes

not sure, something set your profile to unknown
Pubkeys rot and disappear, maintaining centralized lists doesn’t work that well
yeah llms can execute code via tool/function calls. Thats how dave works:
support from user subscriptions, OpenSats and HRF grants. More so the latter, wouldn’t be able to do this otherwise.
But even these grants have an expiry, so it’s like temporary contract work until we have to find a job again.
Yeah definitely, but would still need web of trust i think, otherwise it would be picking up stuff from global which can get messy.
Maybe people i don’t follow but are still well connected in the trust graph.
