also, i'm not saying that sorting algorithms are the most interesting things but my bug for algorithms started with learning the theory of sorting. the bubble sort is really simple and once you know it, you can use it to calculate the ordering of things. this has wide utility.

the bubble sort:

move from one item to the next in a fixed sequence

if the next item is smaller than the previous, swap them around.

repeat until you don't change the order of anything

i have been plotting a scheme to acquire myself a decent van for me and my familiar, the #mochi, my cat. second priority after that is finding a patch of dirt i can run a bunch of sheep on. and chickens.

i hope we can inspire some people to think a bit more about algorithms. the universe and everything in it is an algorithm. i'm not a simulation hypothesis guy. literally our brains do computation so we can only compute what our senses tell us. everything else is a gift from God or random garbage that is confusing.

very nice. people often call them "heuristics" but heuristics are just a type of algorithm focused on recognition of patterns.

well, it's actually kinda fun.

but i guess most people don't enjoy it.

i have a pile of coins from my change while shopping sitting on my desk in front of my computer. i enjoy sorting through the change i bring back and putting it into neat piles. maybe that is perverse, but idc

unfortunately, sifting through information is not something the state wants people to be good at because it might lead to them sifting through the information about the legitimacy of the state. so education about algorithms is poor, and mostly focused on being employed so you "do your part" for the "nation" even though a nation is a cluster of families and those people in charge are not related to any of us except as far as they have poisoned our bloodlines with their rape and seduction.

i recommend you investigate how sorting ALGORITHMS are implemented. yes, even sorting is an algorithm.

if protests made any difference, they would make them illegal.

like self custody they are trying to make illegal.

they are trying to stop people leaving the control of their tax farm borders.

they are trying to stop people thinking about practical solutions that don't involve signalling what a goody two shoes you are "caring" about society and other people.

guess what? those other people are none of your responsibility, nor any of your business. only an idiot gets involved with a discussion that is being refereed by a lying cadre of psychological manipulators.

have fun with your catharsis anyway. that's all it is. when you run out of anger because you think you did everything you already could, you'll realise that there is practical things you can do to change the world, and they are all right in arms reach.

playing games with arch manipulators to plead to the public to participate in rigged elections is pathetic.

you aren't doing anything for anyone, except your wounded sense of yourself.

don't expect people who don't want to get overrun with agent provocateurs and suffer physical injury and to be surveilled by people intent on manipulating fools like you into speaking in front of their controlled media for a spectacle that will just be turned to their purposes, to give two hoots about feel good "direct actions" that involve the media.

no, direct action is self custody, voting with your feet, protecting your family, surviving the trouble and focusing on improving yourself in crying about evil people who have the whole game rigged that you are just playing a bit part in.

yes, i know what they are doing, and probably will help with it in the effort i referred to. but i might just build something in Go because i'm a rabid cult of Go drone and those guys like C, php and rust.

there is some existing tools that are quite nice but they are buggy so i'd probably be fixing them for the task. Git is already decentralized in a similar manner as nostr. it makes no assumptions about consensus, each git server is a subjective system independent of the network, and works without a network.

i'm not really so much interested in the nostr integration, so much as a pure Go based git http server, that someone like me can throw up on a VPS with the only prerequisite to install go on the server, and compile it on the server. this is something you can't do with any other language, without heinous memory requirements, disk space and time tapping your fingers while it gets the work done. on my VPS, my relay takes about 4 seconds to compile and update the binary, and then i trigger restart of the service and upgrade.

doesn't require anything more than a git server, and a Go installation.

i personally don't see that much real use in nostr integration with the mechanics of Git, it's fine already. where nostr integration gets interesting is when you add nostr authentication, and the ability to broadcast a feed of repository updates to nostr clients.

the replication part, which is important to censorship resistance, is also nothing that involves nostr, it's literally just scripts that talk to git http and can even be done with SSH.

honestly there isn't a hell of a lot about git that benefits from nostr. but nostr would benefit from integration with Git.

i gotta say, i'm loving filling in all the documentation in #orly

i remember in the olden days, everything was documented to the gills, idk how those dudes did it. but the AI produces adequate material that usually needs little modification to be perfectly good.

gonna stick at this task until the whole damn codebase is nicely documented.

i ultimately wish for my libraries to become preferred over the garbage in go-nostr. everything is faster, sleeker, and soon, will be prettier.

in bulgaria you get warped lines and overheating locos in summer. the train very much stops, and we all get to stand around at some tiny station in the middle of nowhere while it cools down, all the while when it's rolling it's at half normal speed due to the wobbly lines.

yeah, it will smell nasty for a while but then the new green shoots will emerge and the butterflies and bees will return and the cycle continues on its natural path.

i'm not gonna stand in the middle of the fuel and expect it to not incinerate me tho.

ultimately the reason why there is so much underdeveloped intellect in the population, though, is because of the education system brainwashing people to trust the government.

the result will be that angry people who were fooled or lied to will be more motivated to tear down the system that disabled them.

currently those are the "lumpen proletariat" who are lured into compliance with false incentives and taught fallacies that disable their ability to reason. they will see the people who refused to comply moving forward a lot and probably at first will turn fully communist, while their enemies are no longer so naive to trust in the government anymore thanks to their increasing access to useful information.

so it's gonna be bad at first, probably, and then after the dust settles things will get a lot better.

AI won't help illiterates write better text, because they won't read that it looks like shit.

AI will help people who have good vocabulary and grammar skills but poor structure and sequence skills write better, because they can actually read the text almost as fast as the LLM spits out words.

yeah man... it's a job i could turn my hand to. i learned m68k assembler in my teens, my first was BASIC and the reason i like Go is because it's like those old systems, and like we'll see when there is benchmarks, there won't be a faster nostr relay than mine.

it's quite funny tho... i mean... how can skynet without programmers.

and it's like nvda man says, it's not the machine taking your job, it's the person using the machine

it's the browser that is failing not the app

well, i found a way to turn off the wifi on this blasted thing anyway, so now i have a spare router with SFP port on it.

i have the fix handy for reversing the disabling of it, i must remember to keep it around so i can reverse it before i hand over the keys when i exit this rental.

for future anyway i now have a neat little router that i can use on gigabit ethernet or if it's got fiber i can get an SFP unit for it, if there isn't a way around disabling the wifi on a later occasion. i kinda wish i had found the solution before i slapped down i forget how much, 60 euros or something. still, could be worse.

unfortunately a great number of domestic grade routers don't have properly working automatic port forwarding, and a large number of mobile providers don't give you an IP address, and even more of them don't give you IPv6

i have been saying this for years, the gigacorps don't want us to have p2p because we would discover that we don't need them. it would be one of the biggest industry shakeouts of history. they are shitscared

i'm really struggling to get any effective results out of this AI coding agent at the moment. gonna try seeing if cursor does a better job.

the AI is just not doing anything write. it isn't using existing event caches in the test files, nor is it using the correct method to construct and sign events, and i can't understand what it's trying to do with the code it's writing, it's not right at all.

i probably would have fixed at least one of the bugs i've got on my agenda by now if i'd actually just sat and wrote it by hand.

dystopia is a difficult subject. people who really enjoy this kind of story tend to have a pretty bleak view of the state of the world. and a lot of the movies even when they have a happy ending are still quite bleak.

creators on nostr don't really have any special privilege, there is no marketing funds flowing from advertisers to incentivise the platforms to monetize content

it's also quite an immature protocol still, many of the clients are quite buggy

one thing it does have is tight integration with the lightning network, so receiving payments is very low friction, assuming you can convert your fiat into bitcoin and move it to a lightning wallet.

i know of several creators on nostr who are mostly self funded and don't really gain much exposure or get much sales due to what they publish on nostr

don't want you to be hoping for anything that isn't likely to happen. nostr is still very new and the focus of much of development funding for it is not being well directed nor getting good results.

if you produce video content, there are several nostr-connected video streaming services, and it isn't difficult to charge subscriptions for viewing content on it. the potential of nostr with its lightning integration is great but unfortunately not well realised yet. there is something of focus on censorship resistance and not a strong focus on enabling business outside of the silos

i don't think it's really any darker than Fight Club or Gattaca, it's more pretty in its noir elements than Gattaca though otherwise a bit of a similar theme

well, that's a step further into despicable than i had suspected.

pederast is one thing, but homo pederast is pretty much as discusting as pedophelia. in my opinion, homo and pederast and pedo are all very close together. almost all of the homos i have met over the years told me stories about them being engaged in their early sexual experiences with older (ie, mature) men.

not to say that pederasty isn't bad. it's how a lot of women end up being whores or sluts. i've seen this in numerous cases i can think of while i was in late primary school and highschool. the girls that were being abused usually had some degree of sexual development before it started.

i don't think that gravity tech is that far away. there has been a lot of research producing interesting results relating to affecting inertia without brute propulsion (ballistic, newtonian equal and opposite stuff).

it's a much better problem to attack than trying to push the limits of ballistic impulse devices. i'm pretty sure it's possible to do it with an as yet not fully understood property of electrons.

if it costs around the same energy to nullify the effect of mass on inertia as it costs to move the mass using ballistic or aerodynamic lift techniques, then why would you propell these heavy things to be able to smash into stuff if you could just nullify the mass and allow the objects to move with less ballistic impulse forces (ballistic and torque, to include wheels, but why use wheels if you can artificially reduce the weight and thus cost of aerial motion?)

oh yeah, sleep is really important for cognitive performance. i discovered this in detail when i had access to amphetamine while i was working on code. i found that if i restricted my use of the amphetamine so that i got a good 8 hours i was consistently productive. if not, by the next day (after not sleeping) i'd estimate i was at 25% of my capacity. i tried to explain this to my friend, but he tended to snarf and snarf and snarf until he started displaying tourettes symptoms and this weird, psychotic dark streak that was not in his normal repertoire. he never listened to me, but i was always happy when there was some amphetamine in the lab, i did my best work during those times.

i prefer to refer to them as the "nephilim", the descendents of the "fallen angels". there's a lot of parallel stories outside of the sumerian and abrahamic writings that point in this direction. the royal families and oligarchs of many nations were infiltrated by them a long time ago, and the ruling class/establishment we have in the world now are all part of this group.

there is many other names associated with them, but the most well known one is "canaanites" if you read up on what went on in this neighbour of israel all through the bible, they were psycho. cannibalism, rape, incest, pedophilia, prostitution. if you do a survey across history you will see these practices popping up all over the place and the modern ruling class are the current generation of this ancient cult. and they are all family too, even if they try to erase their connections to each other, you can find them if you look. like the hapsburgs and the windsors and many others.

i recommend checking out this site, and reading the book The Apocalypse of Yajnavalkya https://libraryofcerne.com/ if you want to see a very well annotated examination of the history of these people.

they call it "controlled opposition" and when they get into some subject that the official propaganda disagrees with it's called a "limited hangout" - a way of associating a point of view they want to suppress, so they smear it with the "crazy guy" "tinfoil hat"... Alex Jones is also one of these but he goes much deeper into the limited hangouts for them.

fortunately not all of them are owned yet. i was just reading that tucker carlson literally said that the reason why they are covering up the epstein stuff is because he was working for mossad. which is pretty much what i always thought. not to mention that epstein looked like a typical jew to my eyes.

yeah, i'm just gonna say, when us old farts adopt it the situation will be no different to before except AI itself will prove to be an obstacle because the kids aren't being taught the basics that we all had to learn without it. what they are teaching kids in CS degrees now is a travesty. the entire tech industry has been contaminated with woke, retarded concepts that have become detached from real engineering. the popularity of javascript and rust are evidence of this because both are designed in ways that are offensive to real computer science.

yeah man, at least once. maybe even more times than that.

i was listening to some stuff from Chris Horlacher, the author of The Apocalypse of Yajnavalkya and he talks about the fact that species that are physically separated for a long time tend to genetically diverge and stop being able to breed with each other, and the reason why your ancient ancestors who fled egypt around 5000 years ago are coming back (and have been visiting regularly) has been to bring earth human genetics back to their population.

this is where all the UFO abduction sex stories seem to originate.

but in addition to that, there has been reports from some abductees that have given some explanation of what they are doing, and the idea that they intend to come back and evacuate people worth keeping because the earth's next disaster is going to be 100% lethal (75k years ago another disaster wiped out all but 5000 humans, so it does make sense that there might be a cycle that completely extincts us). and i know a bit about breeding and genetics and there can be problems that arise when you breed out a branch of some variety of living thing, and it loses important genes that can cause the branch to become unviable, or not useful for the purpose, and it's necessary to "back cross" the base variety back.

so, yeah, i think that if humans have figured out how to not have politics and all that shit, and are off planet, and have been maintaining their genetic link with us, that they would want to maintain us as a pool of breeders to keep their genes from falling off into the unviability cliff.

idk about you but i think that isn't it one of the key things that many especially abrahamic religions talk about being the benefits of going to heaven being to have a nice ... well, wife... not necessarily 72 virgins, but that's always been an exaggeration.

especially if they have long ago mastered all that biology stuff and can make us fully viable even if we are late, or for women, run out of eggs.

it's tantalizing, anyway, even if it's not true. but the level of plausibility of this scenario is definitely way in the green on this, if you ask me.

that reminds me, i need to read ezekiel. it's one of the places in the bible, if i remember correctly from recent stuff i have been reading, that Enoch is mentioned. or if not, a place where fragments of the book of Enoch is quoted (Jude is another). and yeah, actually, many of Jesus' most famous sayings are straight out of Enoch.

but for some funny reason the catholic church tried to eradicate the book from the world. it was found again in the 16th century in Ethiopia, where the local christians still had it in their canon, and then later it was found, numerous copies and various fragments in the dead sea scrolls.

Enoch is full of this kind of curse against evil, as well as some amazing stuff about a flight across the world that lines up with descriptions of locations that still exist today, that he could not have known about if he were merely some dude living in the middle east 5000 years ago. unless someone had aircraft to show it to him.

the subtitles mis-spell "iniquities"

the word "inequity" is not a common word, isn't a word actually, as far as i know. one of the signs of the creeping communistic mindset that calls the state of nature (what God created) as unfair.
