also, #dyor

i'm not gonna teach you about the history i lived through being born in the late 70s. i saw all of it. if you don't care to understand it, you are a victim of those who claim to know better but are really just manipulating you.

i'll see your big in japan and raise you a turning japanese

i will be surprised if you understand what the meaning of this song was inspired by

only the young ones think #rust is great

the old ones remember netscape. mozilla is the same organisation, still run by mostly the same people and from the same corporate culture.

rust is an ugly, hard to read, and ridiculously complex language, and has features that you don't need, that just make it so none of y'alls bullshit is gonna compile in 5 years time.

meanwhile, because #golang was designed by guys who have been in the business of making programming languages since the 70s, i can still compile code written over 10 years ago, in fact it's more like 15 years ago now.

it's only because you are all a bunch of youngling dupes who have drank all the kool-aid and don't know computer science anymore because they hardly teach it to anyone, that you think rust is good.

it's not good.

it's C++ without objects, and with all the insane complexity, a ridiculously complex memory management scheme, and syntax that is unreadable.

you'll all get it eventually. that's the thing about being older. you see many idiotic mistakes being made, and you remember them, and when people do them again, you are 50 times facepalm at how stupid they are to do this.

they do it because they are unaware of history. erasing history is the main mission of communism. anyone who makes the same mistakes again, and then doubles down by promoting the adoption of those mistakes, is a communist retard.

i am not using something built with the ugly language funded by netscape corporation

a much simpler solution is creating a http endpoint that exposes the relay's internal event primary keys (serial numbers) and then syncing is just keeping a count of the last newest event serial they have already got. et voila.

i got the idea from nostr:npub12262qa4uhw7u8gdwlgmntqtv7aye8vdcmvszkqwgs0zchel6mz7s6cgrkj (bless him) and it's something i will be adding back to my relay in the near future but any relay dev can easily implement this shit. it's retardedly simpler than negentropy.

keep in mind they are moving to 15 minute cities and nobody is going to know what goes on outside the logans run citadels they build.

i'm not sure that people really think about that very much. their control systems require confinement.

oh, i thought you meant it was originally some manga or anime or something?

fyi, yes, i have changed my pfp and username back to the old one. because i like it.

https://geyser.fund/project/orly

orly is now MVP... i mean, production ready, really, but i'm sure there is bugs in the auth system i wrote in the last few days.

idk what to do next, apart from chasing a job but i figured i should update my geyser page.

props to nostr:npub1wqfzz2p880wq0tumuae9lfwyhs8uz35xd0kr34zrvrwyh3kvrzuskcqsyn especially who contributed a lot to helping me finish this project.

there is more things i can do, on the todos but what you can find now at https://orly.dev is sufficient for basic relay deployment for any purpose, including local relay, personal relay, and organisation/paid relays.

you can put lipstick on a pig but you can't make a language syntax readable without thinking a lot about it. python isn't as ugly as rust, so there's some upsides to python.

i pay 21 euros a month for all the claude i need for a coding agent with jetbrains junie.

i've also shifted my general chatbot to run on my gaming video card, which cost me 500 euros about 7 months ago

hopefully i can use it with the coding agent in the future as well, claude is ok, but i bet i can find a better model with more specific training, because most LLMs are shit at Go (like it says above... makes bugs and then fixes them, all the time, for dumb fucking shit like forgetting to add imports or use variables).

one of the most ridiculous concepts in modern science is the dyson sphere

anyone living inside one would be dying of cancer within days

most of the energy would go into shielding, and negate the whole point of it

the only thing that really stuck was the ace of swords, aka "ace of spades", which is the only form of intellect that is not a highway to hell. in the Osho Tarot this is represented as the state of meditation or zazen or whatever words there is for that, unfiltered awareness. all of the rest of the swords suit are tragedy stories.

it's not something a lot of people can do, and of those who could but aren't, very few of them have any concern about it because of the "if you aren't doing anything wrong you have nothing to hide" lie. this one also makes a lot of people who get involved with anything weaker in their opsec and as a result they get caught up in some psycho's machine, in addition to all the ways that these psychos hypnotise and brainwash people into following their direction.

since 2022 i have become aware of all this and i basically abandoned my entire social circle when i realised that only one out of about 20 people i knew were not on the take.

makes things a lot more difficult too because very often to get employment you have to move in closer to these captured circles of people and there is almost always a cypher among them that you have to step carefully around

yeah, i'm not sure about the selection of the trumps being used, because there is 22 of them in total but some of them are indeed clearly abstract and not representative of a personality. like The Fool (trump 0) which everyone is, or will be, if they step on the path.

the 22 trumps represent phases in a spiritual journey, primarily, and there is even a whole story that gypsy fortunetellers memorize, that i had one dude recite to me, took about half an hour, pretty impressive, and then he talked through the meaning of every minor arcana after that.

yeah, it's not nice knowing you are on a list but almost everyone is on lists.

this is also why i add to my list of countermeasures, to live far away from large populations because its in those places that they are most likely to be operating on the ground. out here, spooks will stand out like a sore thumb and if they are stupid enough to ask about you, pretty much you will be told by one of the locals you are friends with that someone's been asking after you.

i don't want to get caught in the jaws of the metal beast, above all. almost everything else doesn't matter to me. i just want to be free to make a living and tinker with the things i want to tinker with, and even among those things there is so many things i have just shelved basically permanently because they likely would lead to me becoming a POI for wanting some unusual thing that they might think is a hint i'm involved in or connected to one of their targets.

or, like, learn opsec and sigint principles, it's not that complicated really.

i don't publish anything on the internet that i'm concerned about being known, and don't use direct messaging systems that aren't work related anyway. almost all the rest of the channels on all centralized systems are plagued with spam anyway, and scams, and i almost always know a scam when i see one. i've only been caught in one, one time, back in 2021, for my entire life this was the only one, was a shady "vendor" of bitcoin miners.

ultimately, as i see it, i am very unlikely to be a POI for anyone, because i don't hardly talk to anyone and i'm never going to join some movement or any other fucking club that might be someone's enemy, and nobody hardly listens to what i say anyway, and most of those people are just like me. nobodys, who want to have as little to do with the systems of corruption as possible.

being small and humble have huge benefits in that your life doesn't become someone else's strategic interest.

probably the only practical solution is to not talk to people about sensitive things unless you have met them in person and seen their tech

also, just don't even use any centralised protocol for such communication

even signal and simplex are suspect

other than that, it's basic opsec and sigint - don't send out signals over untrusted networks even if the data is encrypted because the receiver can always leak the data any way they want, by necessity of being able to render the content

i also saw a bunch of other users with these "tenantId" tags in their profile metadata events. fuck you. lol

dammit, i have to modify my unmarshal code to accept this bullcrap

ugh woke up this morning and internet was off again

seems to have been because of my wireguard tunnel - and something to do with DNS i think because pinging numeric addresses worked.

restarted the VPS again, and almost instantly everything is groovy again.

not the best start to the day

#GM

well, loser if that's what he was caught doing and double loser for doing it at all, and triple loser for doubling down with this kind of codswallop.

it's also a thing if you have lots of money you go to the VIP section anyway, this is a big part of the reason why they have VIP sections - for celebrities to not get mobbed.

if the nip-05 name is needed, request it on demand of the display code that renders your graph or whatever way it's being done. there is also, other than that, the more useful point from the user's kind 0, and you can request them in batches easily

classic reason why to add an openapi REST interface that has a paginated, cached index result list of pubkey -> user@example.com list

then you index it periodically and queries are cheap.

haha multicult. so many people drank that kool-aid, and we are having a slow motion cultural suicide

social networks will rapidly turn into a potemkin dialog where everyone participating is using basically the same LLM. where people are still actually writing, will be the only legit material to train LLMs on and the feedback loop will escalate until the text is unreadable garbage.

well, it's all very well having a hypothesis but if you can't build a device to test it or the hypothesis lacks falsifiability it's just mental masturbation

yeah, i think the source is still available to build it, but they made it dependent on their servers. no idea if those are also available. it's an electron based app also.

#bitcoin is a peer to peer broadcast network

#lightning is a peer to peer state channel network

#ecash is a client-server network

which is the odd one out?

gah so tired of the stupidity, of the lightning haters and the flat earth retards and everyone who wastes their time trying to educate them about basic physics.

anyway, so, my personal issue here right now, is that i can't do relay dev if i don't have inbound connections passing from my VPS via wireguard.

WSL2 still doesn't support wireguard, and this is a deal breaker for me.

so i am caught between two conundrums:

1. make wireguard work on windows WSL

2. make ROCm compute work on linux

since i have wasted all of my day today trying to get wg work on WSL2, i am gonna have another crack at this fucking ROCm on linux, man this is not easy tho because i have to try to find a linux live USB that actually makes a working display on the installation i make, which was a nightmare last year. ubuntu 25 works, but rocm on ubuntu25 i didn't crack that one either.

good thing i'm on holiday.

this is all broken by an inconvenient thing called the inverse square rule, which operates all the way down to the subatomic. this dictates that spheres and pi are the centre of the math of physics which violates the whole basis of flat earth bullshit.

anyway, his main job is to be smoochy and begging for food and playing silly games batting at me while i walk past.

it's better than having an empty house, and better than having a dog who is gonna be yapping and begging for walkies all day long. the cat i can just pile up his bowl and i barely hear from him all day, except for his complaints about teh toilet and wanting the lap.

i think ETFs and BTCs are pulling down prices because they are taking a margin and sinking it into debt repayments

also, price discovery is getting weaker the more things track along with such as coinbase rehypothecating. in fact, i think what will be the trigger for the sharp jump upwards is going to be a bank run on coinbase

my guess is that it might be a lower peak but the hockeystick elbow is definitely in play

i gotta say that the stuff that is getting posted to wss://realy.mleku.dev is pretty high quality. i guess all my smart followers are using good clients that do outbox properly. or maybe all these people added the relay to their relay list some time ago, or both. idk.

cool, anyway, i mean, frens, feel free to add it. i will keep running a relay at that location, it will have auth required and whitelist my follows and the follows of my follows and block my mutes.

didn't get much done on #orly today, to be honest, but it took me some time to adjust to this windows thing... i haven't even run the relay yet lol. just getting the LLM working for now.

so, i finally have been testing the local LLM using LM studio, which seems to be the only tool for this.

damn things have a mind of their own, literally prompts have to start with DO NOT DO THIS DO NOT DO THAT before you start describing what you want it to do. hilarious.

even still they don't really quite follow the instructions.

using quen2.5-code-14b. seems not much dumber than claude or gpt-4o

probably will experiment with other models, plenty of space for them, it's just a question of time.

i tried using a deepseek model and it spat out a whole complicated and weird flow of thoughts about stuff that were all like the inner dialogue of a nervous slave.
