Homesteading, Permaculture, Bitcoin, Freedom. All one or all none!

Was planning on cardboard to start, that's what I have experience with.

Black Australorp or Buff Orpington were the ones that would go broody for us most often.

They would fail to hatch any chicks and if there was success all but a handful would survive to maturity. It's likely that we should have been more involved in the process. We would basically just let the chickens do their thing and see what happens.

Running continuous batches of chickens this year now that we have an incubator. Tried growing the flock with broody hens and had poor success. With our flock dwindling down and the price/availability of chicks going up it was time to upgrade our chicken system.

Soon when the weather warms up will be able to go directly from the incubator to the brooder outside. For now, we have a stock tank inside until the chicks get some feathers.

Yes, I have big regrets not putting in the extra time and effort selling my collection. If you have a decent process for selling cards individually then you will definitely get maximum value for your collection. I hope you get a lot of sats for your cards.

I personally never pay any attention to the position and am satisfied with the results. Maybe they could be a little less loose or something? Not sure what improvements the orientation provides. We sold all the eggs we should have been preserving last season. Will not make that mistake again.

It's going to be difficult to get the full value selling as a collection. Best bet is to go to a large convention/high level tournament and get quotes from all the vendors. You could also go around to all the local card shops in your area. You might be surprised at how much of a haircut you need to take go liquidate the collection all at once. Have you been quoted yet by anyone?

We use Fertrell sheep mineral mix and Redmond salt (I think selenium 40 but that depends on your location anyway) have always used the Fertrell minerals. Maybe after several years of shepherding we might be able to tell a difference by switching it up. We still have enough bags to last us several more years though. Are you using a mineral mix or just salt?

Building a round wood shed should be no problem after building such a nice robust trellis in such a fashion! Looks awesome.

The Katahdin hair sheep are getting very close to having their lambs. So close the practically have to waddle into the next paddock. They will be in this paddock for one day because it's smaller with a third of it in the woods. Not much to eat on the trees and shrubs yet. I topped off their salt and mineral in these diy PVC feeders. They work well enough, gotta keep an eye on them though. Sometimes the salt gets stuck in the pipe and needs a whack to continue flowing down. #permaculture #permies #homesteading #grownostr #regenag #regenerativeagriculture #rotationalgrazing #pasturemanagement #localfood #sheep #lamb

I'm in SWMI too. I've got plenty of plants if you want to trade. Apple trees especially. If you're into Bitcoin you should make it out to the SWMI meetup in Benton harbor. Third Thursday each month. Grand Rapids meetup is next Wednesday.

This is the paddock the sheep have most recently grazed. If you look closely they've eaten most of the clover close to the ground while leaving plenty of grass. My hope is that the stress on the clover will give the grass a boost of nitrogen and this paddock will be twice as tall by the time the sheep return. They spent about 2 days in here so next pass should be good for 3 or better. #permaculture #permies #homesteading #grownostr #regenag #regenerativeagriculture #rotationalgrazing #pasturemanagement #localfood #sheep #lamb
