It looks great! The multi-sig process for Taproot looks like breeze to use! I just updated to the newest version, so I'm looking forward to creating my first Taproot multi-sig wallet! But I love everything about Nunchuk, so I may be biased ๐
I agree, but I thought we were talking about documentation and technical writing. You seem to be talking about UX issues.
That sounds like what I got from the website. There's a pressure pad at the very end of the device that you have to hold down during the NFC process. It's supposed to be an extra safeguard to make sure you really want to sign the transaction. Nunchuk Wallet added support for it in their latest update, which is interesting because they otherwise only support COLDCARD and Tapsigner. They must have been sufficiently impressed with the Portal to add it to their wallet. And I haven't looked, but I bet Sparrow supports it as well.
Has anyone taken a look at this Portal hardware wallet? Supposedly, it's built specifically for mobile devices. It looks pretty cool, and interacts with supported software wallets via NFC, but there's not a lot of detailed information on their website. Just some ambiguous descriptions of how it works, and other sales language. At $95, it's one of cheaper wallets on the market. If anyone has more information about it, or even just rumors, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
It's an experience that can make even the most experienced Linux operator weep.
That's why projects like nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll and nostr:npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct are so valuable in making it as easy as possible to be a node runners.
I'm on a GrapheneOS phone, I've never really checked out Linux phones but might be worth a look.
Yeah that makes sense. This will be my first venture into mining and I've been following nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze since their launch and believe they have the best interests of the network in mind. I want to do my small part in securing and decentralizing the network. I definitely want to look into mining for heat at some point too.
Linux phone is awful and not worth your time or effort. It basically supports nothing. If you want an actual usable phone, stick with GrapheneOS.
That's annoying. Hopefully you're able to find a way around that. Receiving isn't that big of a deal because all your received zaps will show up as soon as you get around to opening the wallet. But needing to have the wallet open in order to send zaps is a hassle that sorta defeats the purpose of NWC.
Incentivizing engagement is a terrible idea that's guaranteed to lead to an onslaught of horrible content. Because the content is created to work the incentive system, not to produce something useful. It's how you get a platform that specializes in serving the lowest denominator.
Does no background sync mean it has to be running in the foreground to receive, or to process NWC payments?
I understand why you're saying, but to be fair, lots of excellent, highly-competent developers are terrible at documentation and technical writing. In companies with enough money, the job of writing documentation is someone completely different from the people who actually developed the product. Point is, insufficient or poor documentation isn't automatically a sign of a poorly developed product.
Self-custodial is a nonsense word that needs to yeeted into the sun. It's Custodial, and non-custodial. If it's custodial, someone other than you maintains custody of the coins. If it's non-custodial, nobody else has custody of the coins. Self-custodial is a confusing misnomer. Let's keep it simple, and accurate.
We can all dream.
Triggered? Not really tho. I don't like people telling what I can and cannot say, and your butt-hurt message chastising me for daring to reply with something other than fawning agreement called for an equivalent response. If you want to pretend it's all a joke, and I'm somehow triggered because of the shit you started, then do you. Makes no difference to me.
Are you serious? So I'm only allowed to agree with you? GTFOHWTBS I'll post what I want. If you don't like it, block me. And get over yourself. If you want discussion, then don't bother posting anything.
Just being realistic. I don't think there's any value in wasting time on implausible notions.
I don't think eventually is going to be happening anytime soon. Anarchists who want to dissolve the government in favor of some self-sovereign fantasy are far outnumbered by people who want the government to continue even if they don't like paying taxes. I just don't see it as a plausible turn of events, at least not in the present circumstances.
Life is too damn short...
I was active in the #bitcoin-otc IRC channel, which was where all the serious bitcoiners hung out. It was all p2p trades using the IRC channel as a way to establish trust. It was like a secret club back then. I'm glad I took the chance and got in back then because it's changed my life.
Thanks for posting! I haven't heard of these.
I don't. Because when it breaks down and I have to leave it on the side of the road, I don't want to feel like I'm abandoning a friend. So, no name for my cars. Instead, I refer to them by their brand name. "Go warm of the Lexus", "Go put gas in the Chevy", or "When do we have to take the Audi in for an oil change?" Nice, and impersonal.
