P2P #Bitcoin exchanges should share a single global & open order-book deeper than Coinbase, hosted on Nostr. Follow & DM me to make it happen

Hi! I am trying to build a Bitcoin/Fiat exchange on top of Nostr. Think Bisq/RoboSats but an inter-operable protocol and a giant open order book through Nostr relays. This also means unlike Bisq, this will be very usable by mobile clients.

We need more highly usable decentralized on-ramp into Bitcoin now, more than ever. Any feedback and technical scrutiny appreciated!

I think a lot can be built without a NIP. I am trying to build this and I don’t think I need any app specific NIP

Perhaps we need a more systematic way to assign ‘kind’ IDs tho?

Would be nice if we can get push notification from relays tho. But that is not app specific

Please help spread the words (currently looking for review/feedback/technical scrutiny) in hope to make it a reality sooner!

My favorite LN wallet is Breez. It does everything except for LNURL generation or Zaps. But we really can’t let just having ‘fun’ get in front and in the way of real Bitcoin adoption. Self-custodial LNURL/Zap will come, we shouldn’t centralize Bitcoin and risk people’s corn to get there.

This is really just Bisq and RoboSats onto an open protocol and an open liquidity pool. Instead of pure P2P it becomes a Nostr relay based architecture. The problem with pure P2P is it requires the peers to be always on - this makes mobile usage impossible.

The problem Nostr solved is allowing relays to just be a dumb information hub as so things won’t be centralized, but still allow clients to come on only when the user demands - which is critical for mobile usage.

I won’t however, believe for 1 second that’s the extent they are capable of doing. Throughout history, regimes have murdered millions to preserve their power. Taking down a few fiat bank rails is only the beginning. If we LARP then we will live in a CBDC world. #BUIDL

I disagree. It does not seem like Silvergate and Signature are in any worse of a liquidity or solvency situation than SVB and other bank of this size.

I am no sh-tcoin defender. I just don’t want people to think that as long as they don’t sh-tcoin, that ‘the system’ won’t be out to get them. As history has shown, those in power would do anything to preserve their power. Many regimes, including this one, have killed thousands, some even millions, to do so. Destroying a few banks they don’t like is nothing to them.

Be assured there will be many more attacks to come. And if we keep LARPing, we will end up living in a CBDC world. #BUIDL

Just finished the initial protocol draft for n3xB - a proposal for building a Bitcoin/Fiat exchange on top of Nostr. Think Bisq/RoboSats but an inter-operable protocol and a giant open order book through Nostr relays. This also means unlike Bisq, this will be very usable by mobile clients.

Zapped you. Small amount. Hope you don’t mind. Also want to see if Nostr/Damus picks it up.

That said, I poured through all of Umbrel App Store and cannot find a non-custodial way to generate a LNURL that supports NIP-57. What does everyone use?
