Well, I killed one nucbox.
For $200, I'm just buying a new one. I seem to have a very low level error putting me in emergency mode and grok said it was a good call to spend the bucks. I'm leading with that if the wife notices.

If you know that bitcoin is inevitable, you also know at some point it has have the biggest lobby group. Any candidates that didn't realize this found out the hard way.
This is what I sent my son on election day:

Follow up on my bitcoin node installation (command line, linux, Knots).
I decided to install and configure tor.
But knots keeps generating its own address and not using the hidden tor address. I've stopped and started and removed the V3 key and tried everything grok can think of and this seems like a bug:
Why Not Use the Address Bitcoin Knots Generates?
Bitcoin Knots can generate its own .onion address by creating a private key (stored in /mnt/ssd/bitcoin-data/onion_v3_private_key) when configured with torcontrol=127.0.0.1:9051. Here’s why using this address (e.g., vbtlm...) instead of Tor’s (tj4jw...) is problematic:
Standard Approach Relies on Tor’s Hidden Service:
The standard Tor integration for Bitcoin Knots (and Bitcoin Core) involves Tor managing the hidden service via /etc/tor/torrc (HiddenServiceDir /var/lib/tor/bitcoin-service/, HiddenServicePort 8333 127.0.0.1:8333). This creates a stable .onion address (e.g., tj4jw...) that Tor advertises to the network.
Knots’ torcontrol is meant to fetch this address from Tor’s control port (127.0.0.1:9051) and advertise it, ensuring consistency with Tor’s configuration. When Knots generates its own address (vbtlm...), it bypasses Tor’s hidden service, leading to a mismatch that can confuse peers or reduce discoverability.
Knots’ Address is Unpredictable:
Each time we clear /mnt/ssd/bitcoin-data/onion_v3_private_key and restart bitcoind, Knots generates a new .onion address (e.g., q7gqu... → qucur... → vcjwb... → sl4cmn... → vbtlm...). This instability makes it hard for peers to consistently connect to your node, as the address changes frequently.
Tor’s hidden service address (tj4jw...) remains stable unless /var/lib/tor/bitcoin-service/ is cleared, providing a reliable endpoint for inbound connections.
Control and Management:
Tor’s hidden service is fully managed by the Tor daemon, which handles key storage (/var/lib/tor/bitcoin-service/), network publication, and routing. Knots’ generated address relies on Knots managing the private key, which can lead to conflicts (e.g., Knots recreating onion_v3_private_key) and lacks Tor’s robust hidden service features.
Using Tor’s address ensures compatibility with the broader Bitcoin-over-Tor ecosystem, where nodes expect Tor-managed hidden services.
Previous Issues:
Your node previously showed both tj4jw... and obbqipl... addresses, indicating Knots was advertising its own address alongside Tor’s. This dual-address behavior can split inbound connections or cause peers to connect to the wrong address.
The HSDir error (No more HSDir available to query) suggests Tor struggled to publish its hidden service, but Knots’ address generation (e.g., vbtlm...) bypasses this, creating a new address that may not be properly published either.
Can Tor Conform to Bitcoin Knots’ Generated Address?
Technically, it’s not possible to make Tor adopt an onion address generated by Bitcoin Knots (e.g., vbtlm...) because:
Tor Generates Keys Independently

Readapt to extreme weather? In other words: prepare for extinction or living underground. Can't say that sounds appealing for my great-grandkids some day.
Many reasons. I'm getting mine configured. Had to back it out but I'll try again.
In short, imagine driving down a street knowing which houses run nodes. Now imagine it in five to ten years at a $1,000,000.
Grok is good. He can react to problems and remember paths and variables.
I think walk though configuration videos are probably dying out already.
I'll test that theory if I get tor up.
Seems easy, but the address knots had was not the one tor had no matter what grok and I tried.
Maybe Wednesday I'll have time.
Hello millennial.
Yes. They are in the unknown n/a part.
So, if you have joined me, recently, you might have clicked on my profile. You might have read the nutty, poorly-worded stuff I put out there starting over 2 years ago.
If not, think about it and be sure to read the last paragraph.
This condition is unlike any other. After the last major physiological transition of January 2021, it has been an ever-accelerating period of changes. Honestly, there might have been a few that were longer that the last one, you get the idea but I don't think you get the severity of the mental job this does on you.
To understand that you need to understand how the article said the end was likely to come for someone, such as I, that had tried and failed every medical practitioner. The article had a large discussion about how someone might appear in today's world with the knowledge of the disease so uncommon. They would give up on medicine and just endure at home. "Self-limiiting" as they put it. I totally understand that phrase now that I cannot walk long distances. I think the article's authors were throwing up a little flare for people.
It is hard to describe that sequence of events that get the condition to this point, but essentially the end will be virtually instant, with everyone knowing something was wrong but not ever finding anything. I think I documented it in the initial writeup, the one linked from within the one on the web. I won't go into the specifics here. I don't like to revisit thinking about those things.
That's why I have decided to just document every symptom here. It is somewhere, it is not some huge document I have to control, it is me sharing the condition and what having it redacted from science does to a person. That isn't right. It makes the science public in some way. Limiting knowledge of an entire medical condition by simply not having it in any teaching materials and not digitizing the research, that's centralization of medicine.
Let me be clear. I read about the condition. I implemented a method that replicated the treatment, and that treatment induced a medical condition that changes basic human physiology, extending my life by 30 years.
I don't need to make that up. I live it every fucking day. If I was going to make up a story, it would be so much simpler than this ridiculously unbelievable story of mine. I'm a smart guy. I'd at least say, "Ok, make it believable like Butler, PA." Ding. Got ya. Sorry, it was right there. Still, you get the point. I would not say that antibiotics led to a fungal infection that triggered SIADH leading to kidney failure after prolonged hyponatraemia triggering a change in the electrical impulses to the heart leading to yet another form of kidney failure and terminal polyuria until I replicated an injection of adrenaline using diet coke while reading about it in a medical manual in a mental institution I committed myself to because I had hyponatremia and could not sleep for two weeks straight due to the kidney issues.
No fucking way. That's a stupid story. There is no possibility I would say that.
Yet, I've lived it. There are people who could verify to parts of it, family present during the transitions I've endured. But there isn't a test that says anything is wrong with me. The article literally said that there would be no changes on imaging because it looked at the structures. The damage is in the cells. No one is looking there. No one will listen to you try to say to look there, so no one will find it.
Well, that got exciting. The reason I sat down to write tonight was to say that "It" (that's what I generally call it), It is doing something to my lower left back today. I record these so that if they continue occurring or getting worse (like my walking), then there is record of it.
Oh, and one more thing I think I'll edit the beginning to add this is here at the end because it is important to know what knowing the end can come in an instant does to you. Think about not knowing if you'll be here in 3 days. I've lived years with that feeling. Years. I function well, in my opinion given that fact that I am literally have an existential crisis on every day, at times.
I've decided I'll share when my future emails and videos are scheduled to start, from now on. I think this gives a better idea about how I live. Those emails and videos are currently schedule for next week. I typically bump them out as the date approaches. It's a whole routine. This last time I was really feeling good. I bumped them out three entire weeks.
I'm here to make this condition known.

In fact, I think that is wrong, too. That is the growth in tor Nodes. So, yes all accessibly nodes are counter here and the TOR nodes are in the top group.
Here are all nodes (accessible or not):

and tor nodes:

The numbers don't quit sync, which bugs me as a data architect, but it isn't my data.
This is my understanding:
This count does include accessible TOR nodes, as indicated by the ".onion: +0.9%" in the protocol breakdown. This means 0.9% of the 22,313 nodes (approximately 201 nodes) are accessible via TOR.
Maybe you mean private TOR nodes?
I used a Nucbox, it is just a minipc. They are about $200 on Amazon. I'll link the one I got. You can evidently run one on Windows, but from what I read Linux is highly preferable. I knew absolutely nothing about Linux, although I admit I have been in a technical position as a developer, DBA, data architect, and I've run multiple windows based GPU mining rigs back when that was something worth trying.
I started by asking Grok what I would need. Then I ordered a NucBox with enough drive space (1TB minimum) and decent RAM.
I literally had Grok walk me through the whole thing and it was a very, very long discussion as I had many problems and had to repartition the windows drive and learn about Linux along the way.
Hint: If you go this way, tell grok to give you one step at a time, otherwise he spits out the whole plan, you run into a problem on step 2 and the thread gets huge.
This is what I bought. It has room for 4 NVME drives which is a huge amount of room. I have 59 incoming connections to my Node, which is kinda cool.
Good question.
Let's say you have your corn in cold-storage. You transact, send, receive, etc. Maybe you are a bitcoin treasury, maybe just someone that wants to not have your IP associated with your wallet.
If you check a public node, your IP goes with that check and now someone knows you are associated with that wallet and what your IP is - admittedly almost as good as a physical address these days.
If you check YOUR node, no one knows anything. If you run your node over TOR through a VPN with no logs, not even that.
Also, you support consensus.
You can also run a Nostr relay on your node. That is my next project.
Lightning nodes can also be configured. I think that will be later, assuming I'm around.
Every good developer learns this. If you can't just shut them down, they will take you down bottomless rabbit holes.
My CompSci sophomore son is taking a month-long course on engineering ethics in Italy, this summer. This is one of the photos he shared.
I could never have given him that without #bitcoin. Thank you, Satoshi, and everyone that sees the truth.

I believe that doesn't include those running behind tor? Which includes all the Umbrels and start9s?
I think those are the 14000, perhaps.
I asked grok what it takes to switch to tor and it seems fairly easy.
Perhaps read about me. I'm not super mobile anymore.
What the hell, folks? I get my Full Node up and running after many years of hodling. Grok walked me through everything on Ubuntu and it was my first time in Linux.
So, I figure there has to be a LOT of accessible full nodes, right? I find where to look.
No! There are only 22313 in the world.

Only 2300 or so in the whole US (at least the traceable ones).
Why are you not running a full node? Just spend $200 on a Nucbox and have Grok walk you through it.

With the #Bitcoin conference getting kicked off and Bitcoin Treasuries seemingly destined for the moon, there is a lot to be excited about. This moment in time feels so Orwellian and dystopian.
I’m pretty liberal in some ways. I was raised by a single mom. My father died in Vietnam, and my father figure was my grandfather. He was of the Greatest Generation. They were willing to put aside their own needs for the greater good. He went from enlisted in the Army Air Force to a Major in the USAF. He bombed the beaches of Normandy, and flew in Korea. He thought Trump was a fool. He didn’t see what we can see now. He taught me about guns. (This is his picture on his 100th Birthday in his original uniform) He insisted he was just doing his job. The heroes didn't make it.
I’ve never thought anyone needed a gun until now.
I’m pretty sure we are headed for pure chaos. I don’t know how it comes, but I have thoughts. It is scary. But, at the same time, I know I won’t have to go through it all, so I can really look at it and Yell FIRE from the top of my lungs while finding the entire thing utterly fascinating to watch unfold and securing my family through everything precautionary measure we should take.
I was talking with my wife last night. I was remembering how back in the 2010’s we had charts that said, “Somewhere about 2025 the financial situation gets dire.” Even with all the variables, COVID, Trump, Israel, Ukraine, those charts were right. Anyone that is a nocoiner doesn’t get it. That is most people.
I feel as if my entire life is a crescendo. This condition being in the final stage of a 30-year progression at this time just makes it all the more surreal. These last three years have been a lot. At first, I tried to bring it all together in a document and keep detailed track of everything changing. No one believed me and it wear so much on one to constantly be re-reading and revising and appending such a large document. If it was a book, it would be ok, but it is my life and the things I had to constantly review we so painful.
So now, I just try to document the changes as they occur and persevere. It is a great release to just decide to be happy no matter how much you are going through. Just keep doing every normal thing you can do while you can.

We're screwed if the budget passes.
Section 73032 of the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" (H.R. 1) limits the judiciary's ability to enforce contempt of court citations against U.S. government officials. It prohibits courts from using appropriated funds to enforce contempt for failure to comply with injunctions or temporary restraining orders unless a security bond was provided under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 65(c). This applies retroactively, shielding officials from accountability for defying court orders, even those issued before the bill's enactment.
Serious ICO vibes, unlikely to be legal in the US. Although, I don't think they are interested in enforcing the rules, but an easy out.
Should include lifetime premium service.
Appears like your area trying to centralize Relays for a cost. Odd way to fight centralization.
I hope it works out.

My node is UP! I'm running Knots, syncing, firewalled, discoverable, and running! Still 80% to go.
Used a Nucbox with 1TB drive. About 12 hours for this Linux newbie. Dual boot box. Had to repartition and had a lot of issues, but worked through it.

The US is cooked.
Clearly we will not be allowed another election.
If your can't see that yet, ask yourself who would actually vote for all the chaos and oppression?
Not enough. Therefore, we don't have another free elections or he just begins ignoring or intimidating the legislative branch, too.

Shared this with my Facebook Normies:
Bitcoin is at a possible divergence point. These are interesting times. I encourage everyone of all generations to learn about it. People are beginning to realize it is the safest store of value. That's a step change in adoption. The hurdle rate for other companies is too high. They know their business will outperform other business if they keep their cash in bitcoin instead of the bank. If their best investment returns 10% or 20%, yearly, it isn't worth it compared to bitcoin. They really have no choice due to game theory, but they haven't quite got that far yet. I suppose maybe they have something up their sleeve, but I would bet on bureaucracy as what is slowing them down. I'd also point out that my favorite bad guy Elon just added to Tesla's holdings this last quarter.
This is a chart of how much bitcoin is owned by corporations, etfs, governments, and exchanges. They have over 3 million of the 16 or so million. All they are doing is buying. This is like land - they aren't making any more. This is digital property.
They have regulated it. That's acceptance. All those extra dollars they print that drive up prices? Bitcoin eats those. That's the easiest way to look at it. It will eat everything. Then we will transact in it or things anchored by it as base money.
Not investment advice. Everyone should educate themselves. That is part of the process of seeing the inevitability of it. Is 100 hours of your time on something that is really pinging your cognitive dissonance right now worth it? The entire system is changing. GenX has seen a lot of change. Now, realize that money is changing next just as we go into AI.
Everything is about to get weirder.

It's genocide. They are not going well beyond reasonable obligations. They are blowing up food aid before it even gets there and hospitals run by international groups.
Look Peter, a civilization ends when it normalizes genocide. Period. You are doing that. It's been done. Israel paid us to normalize it. We're cooked, we just don't know it yet.
Welcome to the beginning of the end.
This Fourth Turning will be worse than all the others. The truth is, the elite know they don't need people anymore due to AI and automation. They will try to choke out every person they can.
Sovereignty? It's an open air prison.
Your takes are bizarre propaganda.
If you have known nothing but oppression your entire life and live right next to a country rolling in money that is your oppressor, I'm fairly sure, given your outspoken idiocy, that you would be participating in whatever push back you could.
Just stop.
