Right! But let's keep concerns separate. Bitcoin is a monetary network. We need defense networks to fight the government. Bitcoin will be used by all kinds of losers and have their fanfare and BS pageantry. Bitcoin the network just has to be resilient and respectful enough of property rights to allow responsible bitcoiners to keep them from ever capturing the true Bitcoin, whatever that is at any point in time. It's inevitable. Eventually everyone you love and loath will find their way to bitcoin. Game theory unfolding in real time. It's just too bad that the state will now front run 95% of the population that's still sleeping on bitcoin.
Why should it be bad, if the state (which is kind of a common good) is first? I mean in the end there is probably faster acceptance once the state is buying in. It is a signal of trust I hope.
