One of the biggest barriers with nostr right now is the algorithms are not complex, so it feels like a private clubhouse. It reminds me of an old forum but if it was in twitter format. It works best for a small subculture. It needs the ability to interconnect many such islands and nurture unique, distict view points.
Also, it’s time for me to write again. This time I’ll focus on purple-pilling the left on #nostr, and why they’re wrong to think censorship resistant, open protocols for social media (and more) is dangerous or for right wing neo-nazi’s, etc

Imho what the left needs is a strong suite of relays level mod tools. We also just generally need the ability to load up a pre-configured starter list of follows and relays. I imagine various left wing relay circles and friend groups that actually do not interact with btc Mucha all

This 74 year old woman instinctually knew that Bitcoin is freedom money and she was all in from the very first day we met. Every week, she gladly sells the products of her farm for Bitcoin. She's a natural born HODLr.
Just a couple weeks ago, she took in a family of Venezuelan migrants and provided them with shelter, food, clothes, medicine, anything they needed. Putting politics aside, she saw people in need and she gave with all her heart.
In return, one of these migrants (while on drugs & alcohol), intentionally set fire to every structure on her little farm burning it to the ground. Then they disappeared.
She's filed a police report, but doesn't expect anything to happen- these people are long gone.

I hate having to bridge across dozens of other apps to see the social media landscape.
I like the idea of nostr bridging me to mastodon- can we work on aggregating this data?
It was mentioned that this data discovery was critical to the success of earlGoogle. Entities like google.
Is not nostr relatively neutrally positioned social graph of use? Owning the social graph feels like the biggest value add.
100% this. When I see the 20 relays I'm connected to now, I know with out a doubt that they are low impact to my ability to use the protocol.

I think people should be able to set up their own client vibes, relays, etc. If they want to create their own social ecosystem totally separate they can.
Nostr needs a second community to adopt it. Communities can join together later like voltron.
Unfortunately this shows how nostr has not yet developed the ecosystem of useful information that thw twitter scrum causes for even btc info. 🫤
