And then it was Robespierre himself who said "like Saturn, Revolution devours its children", he knew what he was talking about :) revolutions so far were acts of erupting frustration and hatred of the certain group of ppl, if successful - followed by the change in ruling class. Merely rotation. No happiness for everyone, no paradise lost found. Why ? Bc the nature of the man remained the same. What we need now is a revolution of consciousness
👌 the colour of the hat that matches the colour of the jacket is a nice touch ! Cool jacket !
Had no idea he had a film released last year, completely passed me by
Master Gardener(2022)

Based on the trailer this one come across to me as a more mainstream and softer version of You were never really here with Joaquin Phoenix (also in this one - verrry good soundtrack by Greenwood). I might be wrong and will watch it for sure. Also agree - First reformed is a very special film. Do you sometimes have this odd hesitation before calling some films - a “film” or “movie” , bc these are much more than just films, more like experience, on whatever level ( intellectual, esthetic or emotional).
WK 14 | BLUE VELVET
Directed by David Lynch
United States, 1986 🕓 121

Hi everyone!
Has it really taken us 14 weeks to get to the inimitable David Lynch?
Here is the fantastic Blue Velvet (1985).
This dark, violent, hilarious, terrifying, mysterious noir has lost none of its power. It takes us from nostalgia to horror, from suburban gardens, to dreamy nightclubs; there is a severed human ears, psychopathic criminals, Roy Orbison’s dreamy voice, and Frederick Elmes's drifting camera and his kaleidoscopic use of color. And then there’s Frank….
Enjoy! 🍿📽🎬

OMG 🤩 an amazing choice. Let’s also watch at least Mulholland drive and Elephant man. Not now all at once 😀 but maybe during the year. I hope David Lynch can live at least till 100. He is one of the best humans ever.
It would be much more useful if russia and russians would have balls to meme putin and their own slavery-like status under current regime, or even better - if they would stop paying taxes that support murders of thousand innocent people and atrocities in other countries. But surely it’s much easier to make memes directed to an AI bot in your very comfortable arm-chair while risking nothing.
Bc as you correctly pointed out the “toilet” is not the “real life” but parallel reality created by gods for reading, but then occupied mostly by Twitter shit-posters 😁😁😁 Readers should reclaim toilets for their exclusive use.
I'm not convinced that Elon Musk has a firm grasp on what the word "moral" means at this point. https://www.mediaite.com/tv/elon-musk-calls-remote-work-bullsht-and-morally-wrong/
I agree this is particularly funny that it’s Elon who chose to use this particular line of argument against remote work. As he is an example of high morals or ethical business decisions 😂 And btw, what is this, are we coming back to the Protestant ethic here? Or this is a scenario where Elon envisions himself as a medieval suzerain and his employees as his vassals. He’s being ridiculous and scary as only ppl with great power, their own ideology and zero empathy can be.
This is so cool 🚢⚓️⛴️
None of the below authors/books are really “obscure” in their countries, quite contrary, but for me they were totally unknown before discovered: Cathedral by Raymond Carver (a short story not necessarily the whole collection), The Art of Murder by J.C. Somoza, Alphabet by Inger Christensen.
🍿This week’s film:
Brazil (1985) directed by Terry Gilliam!🍿 See our previous post for a link 🎟
🍿And for all you Gilliam fans out there, here is a short documentary What is Brazil? (1985) about the making of the film:

Will definitely watch this documentary and re-watch Brazil as well. Thanks a lot!
Looks like a paradise 🤩 I can only imagine how this place smells like inside.
I also quite like getting the Arabic clones, they're so cheap and are occasionally v nice even when they aren't good as clones they're good as their own thing.
I've not tried it but they do have this one:

If there's any islamic bookshops around where you live you can smell them there too. Theirs also some amazing oud ones there, if that's your thing
Thank you for this recommendation 🤝 I will try to find it if not in my city, maybe online ! Amber vanilla seems very nice :)
The belt for the purple one is a game changer💜 Accessories for the outfit is what spices are for food. I like both dresses very much. Asymmetric design and pleated texture of the fabric of the orange one is just 👌
I need to look into this topic deeper. Terry Gilliam is also one of my biggest "cinematic loves" (sorry, I think this is incorrect stylistically in english but cant find better expression now). I always thought what a unique creator he is - being one of Monty Python's founders,, so having these close links and sensitivity for comedy, broadly speaking. And at the same time be able to see tragedy in human condition, and create profound and moving films. And these two elements ' comedy and tragedy - are veryboften interlinked in his films. Very unique. Thank you for what you are doing with your channel :) much appreciated !
I'm on Encre Noire A L'Extreme by Lalique today cos i feel a bit #gothstr ;) but sometimes i'll just add my patchouli roller on top anyway, just cos

I think I've smelled this perfumes one time. Don't remember exactly, but based on a pyramid it should be very interesting fragrance ( incense, orris, vetiver) I also heard it mentioned several times by other "parfmaniacs":)
