I lost it all… every word.
I did cuss. Out loud. In front of the kids.
I’d worked on the words for two hours. I’d saved. But this time, the “save” turned into a “slaughter” – nothing was left except a red error that didn’t explain why. Just said “unrecoverable.”
Dang.
What now?
Like my two year old daughter, disappointments hit me hard. Losses, too. Use a hammer every day and you WILL bang yourself sometimes. Use technologies to craft your message, and you WILL lose what you created sometimes.
So… What now?
I needed a direction and focus for my energy… some state of being to head towards… some place to return.
Since the start of my emotional freedom journey, my core intention has been to be surprisingly "Calm and Confident. This does not come “naturally” to me.
It takes conscious work for freaky ol’ me to be calm and confident, especially in the aftermath of the destruction of what I had crafted, wanted to share, and was now gone, gone, gone.
But how does one do that?
For me, I started tapping (after the initial cussing). Then, I considered How do I want to feel? Calm and confident. THAT MATTERS TO ME. That would be useful. Better.
Tap tap tap. Accept that it was gone.
Practice the energy of calming (grounding) and confidencing (remembering and activating my strengths).
I do wish it was easier. What I will assert is that it has been worth it… so worth it. The practice of emotional self-regulation means I didn’t spend hours and hours oscillating between moping and angry. My computer was not thrown out into the rain.
Rather, I got curious what would come from the loss. You’re reading it now. Is the “better” than what was lost? Not sure. It’s entirely different!
What I can do is let it do is lead to the same invitation.
I’ve noticed that with people who KNOW what matters to them, and who have emotional skills to help them keep from suppressing and shutting down, who can navigate judgments and outside noise… they are becoming the co-creators of the world I most want to live in with myself, my family, and all of you.
Since this feels so crucial, we have a course we make freely available. You can even pick one of the aspects in any order and start there. The course is called:
Be What Matters
Really nice! Is there any place I can see whether supporting larger font sizes is on the roadmap? I admit hard for me to read note text 🥸
Like a rain barrel, we humans are “containers” of energy. We can run empty… we can overflow. How do we navigate this with savvy and grace? Register now to join us Tuesday at 830pm EDT and/or get the recording.

I love the current banking system! It's so... primitive! Like going back to before stone tablets. To transfer $100 from my account to my partner's at the same bank I get to use the Wire Transfer process. And they will deposit the very next (banking) day at 3pm, and they don't charge for this, says their AI chatbot in all caps. But no, can't use their App. Have to use the website. And know their numbers (each time)... no saved contacts. FML. Bitcoin lightning addresses for the win.
Limited?!? Yes, we’re human. We have physical limits and emotional ones, too. How do we navigate this reality? Register now to join us Tuesday at 830pm EDT and/or get the recording.

TLDR: Tapping can help individuals find purpose, engage with emotions, and do meaningful work that aligns with their values, leading to satisfaction and fulfillment.
00:00 👉 Support the work of the Peaceful Heart Network by visiting 24hoursoftapping.com and learn how tapping has helped migrants, refugees, prisoners, and the underprivileged in over 30 countries.
00:46 🔑 Doing work that aligns with our emotional values and desires is crucial for emotional nourishment, and tapping can help us stay in a virtuous cycle of meaningful work, leading to satisfaction and fulfillment.
04:35 🔑 The speaker offers advice on finding purpose and engaging with emotions, emphasizing the importance of releasing pressure, incorporating creativity, and starting with curiosity to unlock new possibilities in life.
10:11 👥 Tapping helps regulate emotions and access inner wisdom, allowing individuals to comfort themselves and do work that matters beyond survival, while being generous and facing fears in a different way.
15:25 👥 Embrace fear, prioritize self-care, and do work that matters by tuning into ourselves, making choices aligned with our needs, and focusing on impactful moments rather than overwhelming millions.
22:42 🔑 To overcome the fear of criticism, practice in public and use tapping techniques to release fear; asking "What am I not ready for?" helps us realize our fears may not be as big as we think; fear, uncertainty, and doubt are natural, but seeking certainty can limit us.
26:47 🔑 It is important to do emotional work that matters to oneself and others, focusing on cultivating values and systems that promote freedom and consent.
33:57 🌟 Focusing on what truly matters and embracing emotional freedom allows us to do work that is meaningful and liberating, bringing generosity, appreciation, eagerness, and peace into our lives.

1. Open https://nwc.getalby.com and create a new NWC connection. You can set a daily budget.
2. Reveal the connection string and copy it. Make sure to add a “+” between nostr and connect so it looks like nostr+walletconnect (currently a bug in NWC)
3. Open Zapple Pay and add your npub. Important: Make sure to change the emoji to 🤙

This might look like an iOS app, but it’s not!
It’s a web app. You go to https://nostr.kiwi/ and add to Home Screen to use it like a native app.
No App Store and Play Store can stop #nostr nostr:note1m88c87n0ncmtqqmxy7t397aa38w9grergvxh7vwmwf8rv3cgfzzsgql7ey
Can’t figure out how to configure zaps to work though. Says failed.
Biting your tongue? That’s not emotional freedom… even if it is wise with some people some of the time…
Having candid conversations that serves both our own needs and desires… AND the relationships that matter… is a SKILL.
It is a skill that asks a lot of us.
Self-awareness. Empathy. Consent. Confidence.
We need to be aware of what is going on both inside of us and outside us in the space we share with others.
We benefit from empathy towards others who have needs and limits AND our own needs, too… holding an attitude that everyone matters while not diminishing what matters to us as “less important.”
Just because we want/need to be candid doesn’t mean the other people are ready, willing, or able. How do we get consent?
Some conversations are hard. Hard to say… and hard to see someone react with hurt feelings, defensiveness, anger, or pulling away. Growing in calm confidence that candid conversations are essential for thriving relationships gives us strength to be present.
Look, it’s “easier” to tell people to “JUST SPEAK YOUR TRUTH!” and let the chips fall where they may.
But just blurting out to an overwhelmed fellow human that you are angry, resentful, and demand they change NOW OR ELSE (even if that is the truth of your reactive feelings) is… not very savvy.
Why? Because if we want to stay connected and deepen together, loud noise and raging fire from our primitive brain is not going to do that. Emotional hitting hurts… and the bruises can last decades.
Does that mean we have to hold back? No. Trauma taught me to bite my tongue. Freeing it showed me that, yeah, there are people that can hear my rages and hurts and hold space for me to get clear about what really matters to me. RARELY is that the person I have intense feelings about.
It’s rather more skillful to get clear enough and grounded enough that I can feel more engaging rather than raging.
This practice is… ongoing. Useful. Helpful.
Sometimes even awe-inspiring how much positive change is possible when we’re candid with a focus on what matters to us.
Want to explore this together? Then…

I have a "placeholder" account there only. Feels super early, and my "filter" for any kind of new space or media outlet is whether there are multiple freedom-oriented apps I can refer clients to.
Nostr has a bunch! And while Twitter does not, it is currently a place where a lot of my Freedom Kin also tune into and share (I follow you on Twitter and here, for example).
Bluesky underlying tech is something I'm curious how it will evolve. But I don't want to send more energy towards communities that are not yet "open" and obviously open and interconnected because, well, they may never get there. And my time is precious.
I WONDER... a portal into curiosity and inquiry about what we need and how we thrive. Thanks to our participants! The recording is available #RealSkills

I'm building a WordPress plugin that is a small nostr client that allows sending WordPress content to Nostr from within the WP post editor. First public release on Github: https://github.com/pjv/wp-nostr.

Following what you do here. Appreciate this as a start. Trying to figure out whether what is optimal is a local WordPress tool that does this, like you have started... or something that can take and repost an RSS. Are you seeing examples of using your plugin that feel like, "Yes! That's why I did it!" yet?
Curiosity takes safety, energy, presence, and freedom. No wonder it is so often bottled up and self-limited!
We stop ourselves from being naturally curious. We do if we’re… TOO busy… or NEED to get this, that, and the other thing DONE before we let ourselves be “free” to explore…
Each step we take to free up our creativity brings fresh energy to us. Our life force blossoms and fruits. We notice more that is pleasing to us… which helps our intuition guide us towards the people, places, and experiences that are a YES.
Curiosity is amazing.
Why then do we fail to heed the whispers of curiosity calling us, treating them as distractions or insignificant instead of a trailblazer guiding us to exciting new knowledge and understanding?
Fear of the unknown will stop us.
Avoiding any “extra” risk will do that, too.
Self-doubt? Fear of others’ reactions? So hard to be curious with that kind of noise.
It’s why we believe Unleashing Curiosity brings us closer to being emotionally free and thriving. It’s both an act (to unleash) and a real skill (to hold space for curiosity as we move through the world).
Join Cathy and me on Sunday. We’ll do some EFT Tapping to unleash the bindings and consider questions that you can bring to your life to really thrive in ways that are right for YOU.

A Real Skills Workshop for: Adapting to Change with Power and Grace
When: Sun Jun 25 2023 at 5pm EDT / 2pm PDT (90 mins with a 7 min break)
For me nostr:npub1psm37hke2pmxzdzraqe3cjmqs28dv77da74pdx8mtn5a0vegtlas9q8970 changed the dynamic. A Liquid wallet clearly is cheaper/faster to use to move to/from lightning wallets than main chain. Looking forward to seeing what Aqua and Blockstream Green & Greenlight do with this. The speed AND confidential transactions feels... Right... as one of the layers of money here.
Looking to add some specialized ones. Any how-to? Thanks nostr:npub1r0rs5q2gk0e3dk3nlc7gnu378ec6cnlenqp8a3cjhyzu6f8k5sgs4sq9ac You do such interesting work!
What questions give you tingles?
THAT question gives me tingles! Because... I don't know! It activates my curiosity. I feel more alive now that I did even moments ago.
We're beings that are not designed to ask questions we already know the answers to. (It's one of the reasons I am so glad I didn't become a lawyer like my ancestors were!)
Before writing to y'all this morning, I turned to ChatGPT. I asked it to explore how to talk about using Augmented Intelligence (AI) to unleash curiosity and help us to thrive. While nothing it came back with is what I'm sharing here, the "dialogue" and exploring helped me tune into the subject in fresh ways.
In the same way my daughter Rebecca was here for a few days, and we used Midjourney to explore images for her post-doc work presentations. Hundreds of images later, we had some Pixar bacteria and watercolor images that felt... like co-creations. That would enhance the curiosity and delight even around deeply scientific explorations.
AI is going to change so much. SO MUCH.
Do you know the key ingredient that will empower AI to genuinely unleash human potential?
That's right, it's Curiosity!
Your questions. Your unique-to-you ways of seeing the world, going deeper into what matters to you, and actively choosing from options presented to you.
Uhh, but this isn't how most of us were trained. School taught us there were things we needed to know... because there would be a TEST.
Ugh. Go away. I want to distance myself from such boring industrial sludge ways of slogging in the world.
Instead, let's see where curiosity can lead. Let's assert that "knowing the answer" is just not all that creative. Let's embrace wonder as more precious than true/false and right/wrong.
Does this make you tingle? (Perhaps with a little trepidation mixed in?)
Wonder-full! Join Cathy and me on Tuesday. We'll do some EFT Tapping to unleash the bindings and consider questions that you can bring to your life to really thrive in ways that are right for YOU.

Falling… Catch… Falling… Catch… Falling…
That’s what we do when we walk!
Swaying… swaying… swaying…
That’s what we do when we are “standing still.”
Life is dynamic. Physical life is never “still” – yet we tell kids to sit still! How silly we are.
It’s the same with Be Calm and Confident. This isn’t some “static state.” You can’t accurately live as a calm and confident person without recognizing that emotionally you’ll be swaying and rebalancing, sometimes falling, often catching.
We'll be exploring and EFT Tapping to build resilience in this Real Skills Workshop:

Do you ever feel that tug towards something you want, some experience that is calling to you, and yet you feel conflicted?
It’s actually a Good Thing. Or it can be!
I want to fly! I don’t want to die!
That conflict helped me learn what it would take to be a safe and responsible private pilot. It focused me. It also told me when it was time to stop because I didn’t have the time and space in my life to do it anymore with sufficient safety.
Adventures await. Some are BIG and some are so deeply personal that perhaps no one but you knows that that trip to the store was an expression of your profound courage and clarity and a lot of emotional and physical therapy.
What I can assure you (and me) is that most of what we see and dream about that is outside our safe-ish (comfort) zone is going to feel conflicted at first. Some coaches and friends will say, “JUST DO IT!” and buy you a pair of Nike’s to give you extra oomph.
That doesn’t actually work for me. As something RISES that feels important for my thriving, I always seem to need a pause to get my clarity:
(1) What about this is scary? (tap tap tap)
(2) What preparations do I need, physically and emotionally?
(3) What beliefs are interfering? Are they true (and I’ll need to cope with the consequences) or are they assumptions?
(4) What makes this Matter to me? Because change takes energy, and my body-mind won’t expend energy on something that doesn’t REALLY matter to me. Just… won’t.
It’s #4 that activates what I experience as Courage. It’s a flow of energy from the heart to the cells and systems in me… with enough fire to burn the “old stuff” and temper my steel for the experiences ahead.
You might have picked on yourself that this doesn’t all “come naturally” to you. I certainly did! I thought people were either courageous… or cowards. I’d often inner-accuse myself of cowardness when really…
(1) There were actually scary aspects to what I wanted, (2) I wasn’t prepared yet physically or emotionally, (3) I had beliefs that, if I carried with me, would impede or even ruin the experience, and (4) I only had a “want to” in my head. I didn’t yet have a stack of ways this matters to me, and I don’t actually care if everyone else sees it the same way!
If we don’t tend to these aspects, all of them, we end up living a life that is “safe-ish.” It isn’t particularly juicy for us. We cope with a dose of existential angst because we’re not growing. Our body is signaling its decline from lack of YES! Living… but we are not sure what to do about it.
Well, those of us who explore emotional freedom DO know what to do about it! We do the four steps. Then we take small steps – baby steps – and really squeeze the emotional juiciness from each micro-step. Yum!
I'm guessing preparing for his Lightning business summit and service release is requiring lots of energy... Curious to see what comes out of that.
Agreed. Feels like it takes away the ACK that says I’m with ya. That’s different from a zap which for me is saying Yes! More please!
