Born on a Thursday ("Thor's Day") ... I'm a Process Controls Engineer (Pneumatics, PLCs, DCS Systems, UHF Comms) and Technical Author; with an MSc in A.I. (that dates back to the 1990s!) plus 30 yrs of accumulated overseas work experience, mostly with "big-named" companies. ******************** NOTE: You can't ZAP me inside Nostr becoz I don't use a Mobile Phone. If you want to Tip Me then you can send Satoshi's directly to my secure Lightning Wallet: writerfx@coincorner.io ******************** Thunor is the Brit. variant of "Thor" (Old English: Đunor). Thor — a prominent icon in Norse mythology — is a major inspiration for all Germanic and Nordic (and some Slavic) peoples. Thor is most commonly depicted (visualized) wielding his trusty hammer; a.k.a. Mjöllnir (“Lightning”), which my Avatar symbolically represents. Germanic / Nordic / Slavic mythology relies upon the art of story telling, to best express an invisible yet timeless (cyclical) reality against which our mortal / material world can be correlated via the recognition of eternal human archetypes.

While it is of course true that Ukraine (aided by both the UK and USA) did recently launch a successful assault upon grounded Russian Strategic Bombers (at four airfields simultaneously) using a fleet of Quadcopters, it is also true that a significant amount of video and JPEG footage of the damage allegedly caused by this operation really does include known fakes ... derived from video game footage that is so realistic they are readily accepted by many as actual footage of those recent attacks.

On June 1 alone — the day of Ukraine’s large-scale strike on Russian airfields — a known TikTok account posted nine videos compiled from video game footage, which then spread "like a virus" across social media. One clip amassed around six million views on the original platform.

Notably, Kyiv has previously passed-off ARMA 3 gameplay as real combat footage. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense once released a video allegedly showing its air defense systems shooting down four Russian helicopters in the Kherson region at night — a clip later identified as coming from the same video game.

So please continue to be careful and vigilant while trying to decide who to take notice of when scanning Social Media feeds ... and this advice especially applies to those dupes who for some reason think Nostr shall be inherently immune to all those misinformation problems seen on other SM platforms.

Todd is talking absolute childish crap. What you need to do is learn who to follow, and who to completely ignore.

Those parked aircraft (being damaged by Quadcopters) were part of the SALT treaties agreed with the USA when the Soviet Union still existed. They had nothing to do with the current Ukraine conflict.

And then to continue by claiming some had missiles loaded just shows the technical ignorance of a boy who is clearly struggling to become a man.

It is over-emotional Americans who lie at the core of all problems in this world ... just as Adolf Hitler recognized and warned.

“The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of men who wanted to be left alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over.

The moment the men who wanted to be left alone are forced to fight back, it is a form of suicide. They are literally killing off who they used to be. Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these men who wanted to be left alone, fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives. They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror.

TRUE TERROR will arrive at these people’s door, and they will cry, scream and beg for mercy…but it will fall upon the deaf ears of the men who just wanted to be left alone.”

(((Mark Zuckerberg’s))) -- NOT HIS REAL NAME -- "Expensive Fear of Competition":

What if the dominant courtroom drama of the year wasn’t about guilt or innocence, but about whether Silicon Valley’s richest empire spent billions to smother threats before they could breathe?

Behind closed doors and under oath, executives, professors, and former insiders have begun to unravel the real playbook of a company [FACEBOOK] that claimed to innovate while quietly cloning, cornering, and outspending its way to dominance.

From desperate app launches to $19 billion “panic buys,” Meta's actual story is more about fear, the desperate need to 'influence' you and everybody else, and the simple raw mechanics of how "Deep State" sponsored tech giants quietly defend their crappy thrones.

I once visited the Houston Space Centre during some free-time while attending a technical course on Gas Turbine control systems, held on the outskirts of the City of Houston.

As a result, I am one of the relatively few persons on this planet who has walked the full length of a horizontally laid Saturn V rocket. And to my eye, it looked far too small (both in length and diameter) to convince me it could have launched 3 men in suites, alongside a Space Buggy, food and water supply equipment, plus oxygen tanks to last several days ... not to mention several relatively heavy batteries, and a long list of other exotic equipment.

And when I eventually made my way to the Lunar Module (i.e., the weird contraption glued together with aluminium foil, staplers, and a few metal struts) I stood just a few paces away from it ... and within a few breaths I just burst out laughing. "You got to be kidding me" said my mind's eye.

The Apollo Program was (surely) mostly a hoax, that's all I can say. I can't prove it. But neither can NASA prove that all of it's camera work and telemetry [allegedly on/from the Lunar surface] were both authentic.

What exactly is that 'thing' shown in the photo? A new species?

We've heard of "Bigfoot", but never seen one up close and personal. But this 'thing' above is somewhat different.

At a guess, I suspect this new species could easily be mis-identified even if confronted on a busy street or in Mall. But has it got a taxonomy?

That's a good try, Jin. But the minced pork omelet I used to enjoy in the coffee-shop of a small, boutique hotel, parked on Sukhumvit Rd., but no more than 30 metres from the entrance to Soi-4 (Soi Nana), was a whole lot "fatter" or "deeper" than yours.

When I cut thru the egg-outer skin, the minced pork cooked in an onion/diced tomato/chopped carrot sauce would ooze out.

And you need to get yourself some fresh chillies, garlic, and some peppercorn dipped in vinegar (or fish sauce) as a more authentic condiment!

Yo Deggars ... do you have a video or audio recording of your joint presentation held at the Gemini Stage ... about "Decentralized Social Media"? Cheers 😄

nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq37amnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3dwfjkccte9ejx2un9ddex7umn9ekk2tcqyqlhwrt96wnkf2w9edgr4cfruchvwkv26q6asdhz4qg08pm6w3djg3c8m4j ... you have an audio recording of this presentation? This particular topic is of special interest to me. N.B. I also have an account with Bastyon.

Since I started on this "decentralized Social Media path" back in November 2024 I have gradually found the combination of maintaining accounts with both Nostr and Bastyon to be synergistic.

A movie about two jews doing ... whatever it takes to cynically exploit others for maximum profit?? Haa! You can bet on it; they'll be heroes by the final episode.

Good article Lyn. I've been tuning-in to a lot of your stuff; dating back to when you first got introduced to US and International audiences.

Was it David Lyn (when he was still hosting for Kitco) who first introduced you to a wider audience? David's a star. And I'm truly glad he got himself well away from under that female Kitco Editor who pretended to be his Senior ... especially after that torrid joint interview the two of them conducted, of Alexander Mashinsky (the CEO of Celsius) about 3 years back.

I don't follow you religiously because I'm already on-board. I don't need to be converted from anything, or made 'awake'. In reality, I've always been awake! F.F.S.! I was fully on-board with the "money is debt" mantra as long ago as 2006-08, thanks mostly to Bill Stills massive (1996??) pioneering work, which was first released on VHS.

You are someone who is known for explaining each problem from basics through to specifics, and this is what I appreciate most about you. And your verbal delivery is always nicely paced, with minimal American accent. You've been around for several years now, and you are still part of the elite A-List for those Bloggers and Podcast hosts who are looking for a popular guest expert. So you've got no worries. ☺️

I always knew (or at least my radars did) that the Establishment would feign their so-called adoption of Bitcoin just so they could work out a couple more ways to shape its speed of growth, and ultimate destiny vector, while sitting behind their proverbial curtain. That's been their modus operandi, and for centuries already. Am I right?

But I could never have guessed what methods they would actually deploy, and who would be leading that charge (e.g., Saylor??). What worries me most is the (alleged) relationship between Blackrock and the Miners.

Maybe you would like to write / publish some more in-depth articles on this "Blackrock vs. Miners" topic for us Lyn??

Typo / Naming Error: I should have written ... David Lin ... in the 2nd para. (not "Lyn").

Apologies for any confusion caused.

One of the things that I find most troubling is audience capture.

People who work in corporations have to toe the party line. But then people who go “independent” often get captured by the most vocal parts of their audience. They often just get paid to rebel against whatever they left, and become as much one-sided as they previously were.

In its most benign state, many people with audiences will just not comment on certain things. They fear their audience. There is no positive ROI in it. When asked point blank, they will try to deflect. In the worst state, they will actively and consciously deceive, playing to their audience.

I can’t promise I will always be right on things. Sometimes I will be wrong.

But what I will promise is that I will always tell it like I see it. So when people agree or disagree with me, my goal is that at least they know it’s genuine.

I aggressively resist audience and platform capture.

I started talking about US fiscal deficits being the key macro issue to watch in the first Trump term. Then for four years during the Biden term I amplified it and started the “nothing stops this (fiscal) train” meme.

When Trump became president again, and Musk talked about specific deficit reductions by 2026, I re-iterated my view that they will fail, and that the deficits will continue.

When I was talking about deficits during the Biden term, I got a ton of comments saying I was too right wing. But they were in the minority vs those who found value in the commentary. And it was right. And then during the early Trump term I got a wave of critics saying I was some liberal. But I said it’s just math, your guy is wrong too like the prior guy, so I say it like it is.

When Musk took over Twitter I was cautiously optimistic at first, but then I pointed out that the platform was increasing its rate of censoring Indian and Turkish posts compared to prior management at the behest of their governments that are also potential rocket and car buyers. They did this while simultaneously broadcasting themselves as the new free speech platform in the US. I took heat for pointing this out on his own platform but I felt it important to do so. These various knee-jerk social movements are so shallow.

I am wealthy enough to not need income anymore, but purposely am not so high-up in anything that I have a gazillion employees that could get rekt if I don’t bend the knee to some asshole. I run a profitable, lean, wholly owned company by me, and have some additional partnerships.

I don’t take that middle ground lightly. People more hardcore than me chose not to take it. Too many employees eat because of those leaders. Meanwhile, I use time to analyze whatever it is I’m looking at.

The latest event is bitcoin spam.

Some folks want to increase the expressivity of bitcoin to put more spam in there. I disagree with that.

Other folks are mad at the spam that’s already in there, and want to censor it. I disagree with that approach too.

Many influencers are afraid to even wade into the debate and tell you their opinion.

I’m happy to talk and reply. Not that it really matters, but in case you care, since most of this is on social media anyway and I haven’t pushed anything hard and broad yet but have watched and analyzed it.

My first article on bitcoin in 2017 was interested but not committed. After Bitcoin’s price stagnated for several years and went through the blocksize war, my second article was strongly bullish. I basically said to buy the fuck out of this thing. It proved itself to have a dominant network effect and to be antifragile.

We are up 16x since then; and I’m still bullish. I don’t view any of the attacks as existential. I fade all of the moral panics that I currently see.

The JPEG attacks are weak, the token attacks are weak, etc. All of this is from 2 years ago and still weak now. NFTs and memecoins are weak as fuck.

Fees are low because16 years into Bitcoin’s existence, it is still less than 1% of Fedwire transfer volumes. And it’s normal to be low until Bitcoin cash balances rival gold’s or Fedwire’s at even 10%.

Part of why I am bullish is because until Bitcoin has another10x and becomes a common cash balance at scale, it will remain a niche spending unit.

I don’t agree that everything is good for Bitcoin. However, I am 90% there.

Everything that fails to break Bitcoin is good for Bitcoin. I am bullish on Bitcoin, having witnessed yet another attack crash upon its shores.

For those that are concerned about spam, I would 1) remind you of the existing blocksize limit, 2) point out that UTXO bloat is not occurring since the fad went out and Runes launched, and 3) few of the existing proponents represent permanent fixes.

Bitcoin can withstand this weak sauce. That’s why I bought it in the first place.

You will find this response far more amenable.

To be totally honest, your writing skills — based upon the piece I responded to — appears to be an Order of Magnitude above what I have grown used to finding here on Nostr.

Furthermore, I had not seen any content from your Profile previously.

That's not to suggest other Nostrers are inadequate in any way. On the contrary; the level of discourse here can often be surprisingly high, and inspirational.

None the less, your creative (and well developed) writing style caught me by surprise. ☺️ 😄 I shall try and be on my guard next time! Or perhaps more wide awake! I am currently based in SE Asia, so its already the early hours of the morning here.

Supplies to Gaza are not going to get through. So don't throw your money away ... not even Sats.

I have a mainstream Social Media account that allows me to view uncensored vids of the genocide being enforced there. All I can tell you is ... the Israelis (perhaps most 'Jews') are simply not humans ... they are, in reality, Demons who get funded by the USA (and by Occupied Germany).

Palestinians will be wiped out within the next month, unless large numbers can be shifted to Libya, as proposed by Trump.

Suggest you keep your Sats until you become older and wiser. These times are too perverse to support idealistic guesses.

Another example of White women believing they sit at the centre of our Universe ... and probably everybody else's Universe also.

The *core* beef with populist leaders worldwide IMO, is that they are essentially uncouth, low class. Elites loved Obama because he spoke and joked like them, the practiced self-deprecation, the vocabulary he used, the refined tone. He was one of them.

Trump is openly boastful (very low class), has gaudy taste, eats McDonalds, doesn't use the words and tone that comforts the educated.

Imagine getting into debt for a worthless degree, making less money than the plumber or electrician and only having *status* to show for it. Even though you were duped, even though you are totally replaceable and live at the whims of your corporate overlords, at least you know the right protocols and pronouns to navigate elite discourse.

You have no material benefit, but at least you are *superior* so you've been told. You are *righteous* and *good*. You are not *racist* or *misogynistic* or *transphobic*. You get a pat on the back from the powerful.

Suddenly this person comes along who gives zero fucks about any of that, whose ascendance is counterfeiting your status payoff entirely. Even though you got screwed in a real and material way by the very elites you servilely aspire to join, you are in denial of this, and the meager status boost was keeping that denial at bay. But now this guy comes along, and you're faced with the pointlessness of your entire endeavor, the shallowness around which your entire identity was built.

Of course, they hate Trump and the other populists who are exposing them to the catastrophic self-betrayal.

| "The *core* beef with populist leaders worldwide IMO, is that they are essentially uncouth, low class."

That reads like the first line of a bitch speech penned by an Effete Liberal, who's never done anything real or significant in his life, hitherto. Except for writing a couple of novels or making a few movies, perhaps.

Of course, because America is Amerika, I can see how many will see your's as a perfect description for Donald Trump, but I'm pretty certain it doesn't hold water for most of the populist leaders currently found elsewhere.

For example, Hungary's PM (Viktor Orbán) sounds very refined and intelligent to me. In fact the so-called Balkan Trio of Fico, Orbán and Vučić each come across as educated, refined, and competent. As does President Putin (who could also be fairly described as a "populist" ... at least if one adheres to the vernacular of the New York Times).

Those who occupy the "Far Left" always see themselves as belonging to some kind of superior elite. And "superficial moral superiority" was all Obama ever possessed. Prior to his rise to public attention, followed by his election successes -- he had been specially groomed (over a number of years) by Penny Pritzker (a key member of the ultra-wealthy Pritzker family) -- which explains why he had to shift to Chicago. The Pritzker family, by the way, have ancestral roots back in the Ukraine (of all places!). Just like Victoria Nuland.

And while in Chicago, Obama frequented a notorious Chicago Bath House (also frequented by Chicago's rich and powerful) where he would engage in sodomy with multiple partners. This is a well-known and well-attested story.

It's a bit of a challenge to describe someone fitting that behaviour and profile as "refined and intelligent". Don't yah tink?

In reality the massive fraud that was Obama (who was 'awarded' a non-existent Columbia University degree) simply turned a skinny half-Indonesian immigrant who was "all form, and no substance" into a very rich boy.

And let's face it; he could only have been voted to the Presidency of the United States by an Electorate that was already comprised of mostly stupid, naive, unworldly, and over-entitled persons: in other words, they were "children pretending to be adults".

Nah, your contempt for Trump is made up of too many cute and flowery justifications. For someone of his stature, there's surely something more reality-based you could find instead?

DJT is "street smart" ... certainly not stupid And as far as having to navigate the snakes who occupy Amerika and Washington DC ... I reckon he already possesses the kind of intelligence that's sorely been needed.

The way he dealt publicly with both Zelenskyy and then South African President Ramaphosa recently -- on both occasions he ad-libbed while sat in the White House's Press room -- was brilliant, and could only have been achieved by someone who is both authentic, and smart, and sincere.

My only objection to Donald is his close links to Netanyahu, and to the Chabad Lubavitch.

"They" is an abstract idea because most of us can't pinpoint the exact people responsible for the system at large as it is today.

We can nitpick, and try to say certain groups, or organizations are responsible for our decline but in truth, most if not all of these people of the "theys" we abstractly apply to are simply responding to the market incentives given to them, perhaps by malicious individuals, or by negligence, and short sightedness.

Is there a Jewish marxist plot to subvert America by eroding our education system, our currency, our food system, our media, and more, maybe.

Or maybe the reality is that all these independent groups had their own agendas that unfortunately when put into conjuction has caused our countries decline.

The Food Companies have an incentive to make cheap, shelf durable, consumable food products, what ends up happening is the food does become cheaper, the food does last longer on the shelf, and the food is more addictive, however in doing so the nutritional, and health benefits of the food are eroded, now can you say the food companies are deliberately doing it, maybe, or is it just by happenstance.

The Federal Reserve banker is incentivized to ensure stable economic growth, and market manipulations, at least in their theory is the best way to achieve this, when there's low economic activity the centralized banker has to make the economy grow by printing money, and lower interest rates but when that ultimately results in inflation the centralized banker has to slow down economic activity to maintain stable prices but that typically causes a recession.

Overall, every person alive is somewhat responsible for "theyness", every time you use Google instead of duckduckgo, or brave, every time you watch porn, everytime you buy a windows, or Mac, everytime you buy food from a restaurant then you are a "they", and so is every they out there.

If you want a better world then build it for yourself, and try your best to engage with your community instead of blaming some far away shadowy "they" because the reality is that you are the "they" causing the decline more so than anyone else.

Phew ... that's somewhat of a weird reply. Too many crossed-wires. And its passive logic keeps veering from A/C to D/C ... and back again.

As part of your profile, you've written this "warning" ... >> Right-Wing Social Commentary, I'll probably offend you in someway. <<

Right-Wing?? Really??

You Americans have your own upside down language; you call Socialists/Marxists: "Liberals" ... and those on the so-called 'Right' you label as: "Conservatives".

I've long held the opinion that most of you rootless-folk are simply ... "Commies-Lite". 😵‍💫

Sooner or later we are going to have to stop using the word "they" so we can start to act like grown-ups by actually naming names.

Most of those you are referring to as "they" are nothing more than White-Collar Criminals and/or Psychos. And any criminal/Psycho (or groups of the same) who routinely extort $-millions (or above) thru covert means deserve ZERO respect. But you very likely know that already. ☺️

P.S. I have plenty of rope to sell, if you need some. Scaffolding too.

Nice sentiments Laura. The BTC I obtained "early" (circa 2015-16) at ridiculously low prices, I was soon forced to sell into a quiet market. Back then, I was living thru very difficult circumstances (both domestically and globally, so to speak) from about 2013 thru until the very end of 2019 (just weeks before the COVID Lockdowns materialized).

During February 2020, I managed to get back in as a BTC stacker, but the price had already started to 'surge' above about $12,000 after being quiet for most of 2019.

The people charged (back in September 2019) with sending me a large payment took too long, and then the paperwork got tangled-up with the 2019 Christmas and New Year holidays, so my Bank was not credited until mid-January. This meant I lost out to the order of something between -0.06 to -0.1 in total BTC purchased compared to the amount I would have obtained if I could have acted during November/December 2019.

Anyways, as of today I am "still in the game" and am therefore relieved the long anticipated "Bull Run" still seems to be alive and kicking.

I just wanted to reply because I can really feel pain (from old wounds) when reading your lovely and well-intentioned post. We all have our stories to tell, and I am quite sure I wasn't the only one pushed into despair at some point during that 2013-20 period.

Your words bring me both a reminder of impossible circumstances that were imposed on me by circumstances well outside my control ... and real feelings of solace, hope, and comfort after a nightmare ride thru the part of my life (I'm a "Boomer") where I had naively expected to enjoy some relaxation, security, and freedom from any immediate threats.

Thanks again for your sentiments, even though they are actually meant for everyone. Wherever you are, take care, be safe, and enjoy this world in good health ... for as long as you can breath.

Christianity is the hoax that keeps most White Americans blind to the Poisonous Snake ... that is Judaism.

The very least you could have done is burn every copy of the Scofield Reference (Fake-) Bible!

A Rootless people — taught to worship a 'Jewish' god — and made up mostly of Immigrants, followed by children of relatively recent Immigrants, was always going to be very vulnerable to every hoax, lie, and every shred of inverted (fake) history imaginable.

America only got rich at the expense of a constantly warring Europe. So the next obvious question is ... who kept provoking the start of wars on European soil? Those wars have been more or less constant ever since the French Revolution. But they commenced during the 16th Century.

The first answer your typically stupid American would offer is ... "the Germans".

But of course, the correct answer would have to contain a string of truly nasty words and phrases like: the Rothschild Banking Cartel, the Jews, and the Rockefeller dynasty, etc.

So don't pat yourselves on the back. Because in reality (and in more recent times, when the stakes became really large) it is you 🇺🇲 who has f*cked up, and big-time ... while leaving the rest of the world to pick up the pieces.

Frankly speaking (from the perspective of mid-2025) ... I can't see if that task will ever be possible.

Reach is more important that most realize.

The lack of reach proved costly for Nikola Tesla ... who then had to suffer the ignominy of seeing some of his better inventions getting copied (stolen) by others ... allowing them to steal the limelight, plaudits, and material benefits.

Very good reply, and also useful. At the same time, what you've just posted is not beyond fair criticism, so you should not be overly sensitive to that. I don't actually need to criticize what you've just written, but I will couch large parts of my reply in ways designed to encourage your further thinking.

Hee-hee ... I know a great deal about Trolls, possibly because my "know-it-all" style of commenting attracts such persons like dog sh*t attracts flies. The fact is, you will never understand the psychology or purpose of Trolls until you try and speak truth (online) about the JFK Ritual Assassination, the so-called Holocaust™, the Billary Clintons, 9/11, and/or the Apollo Moon Landings.

In past years I've tried all kinds of ways of dealing with Trolls, and there's no magic formula, even though I usually win against most of them; but only if I fully apply myself. But are such efforts cost effective?? Nope! The fact is, no ordinary person can afford to spend hours online trying to win against Trolls, who are mostly suffering from chronic emotional issues, let alone a complete lack of real knowledge and understanding.

It is highly probable that the W.E.F. (over in Geneva) has long maintained dedicated and privately-sponsored "Trolling Teams" in order to Gas-Light the public into accepting Klaus Schwab's power-mad suggestions, biases, and policies.

On top of which there's a large body of "official" or government sponsored "Trolling" (performed by teams who have been trained by, and are therefore being openly sponsored / financed by: the Establishment, or the Deep State that is currently in control of the Western World).

For example, teams of Trolls have been operating out of Israel ever since America's DHS was set up, right after 9/11. They are mostly formed by volunteers taken from the IDF. You will find confirmation of their existence somewhere in Reddit! Perhaps a couple of photos also.

Specialist teams of Trolls were also set up by those responsible for the COVID19 Psy-Op. A particularly nasty group of de facto Trolls were even endorsed by the UK Government to counter (real) truths being spread by smart members of the public, on the Twitter platform, months before the first "vaccines" were rolled out.

The British Army had already created (back in 2015) a specialized unit to combat what the UK Establishment prefers to call "disinformation". This specialized online Unit is known as "77th Brigade" ... and they were even deployed to maximize the public's compliance with all COVID19 mandates; as if the UK public had been quietly re-labelled as "enemies of the State"! Yet another example of "official Trolling operations" is the UK Government's Counter-Disinformation Unit (CDU) and Rapid Response Unit (RRU).

Interestingly, the CDU was set up in 2019 (just in time for the start of the COVID19 Psy-Op). The unit — run by civil servant, Sarah Connolly — then commissioned reports from the Artificial intelligence firm Logically ... because "the pursuit of truth" is never the purpose.

If you think all this looks and sounds like the old Soviet Union under the KGB, then you'd be correct.

As regards your opinions of Reddit, which you sub-headed "Specific to Reddit:" ... then I am in full agreement with them. I think you have written a very commendable (quick) assessment of Reddit's essential positives and negatives.

Just so you know:

1) I have never attempted to use Instagram because I don't want to have to trade in mostly imagery and video clips;

2) I stopped using 'X' when I realized that some of its most important policies were simply a continuance of the pre-Musk Twitter (where I was chronically "shadow-banned"). In addition, I simply do not like or appreciate the warped politics of Linda Yaccarino ... Musk's most senior Executive, who is in charge of 'moderation', and who is therefore in charge of setting and approving X's content policies.

It might be more appropriate to pitch your question to the person who originally authored that claim. I was only going along with the premise in order to fashion my response.

Over a span of several years, I have used several Alternative Platforms, and have witnessed anger and outrage exchanged on each one; at least on occasion.

But I think it's generally accepted that Twitter (Mark-1), and Facebook, were probably set-up to facilitate a hyped-up atmosphere which then enticed many to over-indulge with their emotional responses.

Personally, I don't know of any platform that was set-up -- BY DESIGN -- "to amplify anger and outrage", because that would surely risk inviting bedlam and too much disruption.

But it would be reasonable to argue that the basic social-media model of clicks, likes, and follows was always going to entice those who prefer to engage in debate while dressed like a Gladiator.

As you asked a specific question about something that's clearly important to you; then why don't you now tell me what platform you believe has done more to foster online controversy?

An interesting choice to focus your lenses on! Keep it going as I suspect you've got something to really develop here!

If you have a website that displays your portfolio, then make sure we can find it easily.

By the way Luke, I am seeing so many photographers posting great pics that are devoid of a location description. Just an approx. descrip. will do. 🤓

A great many of us have already read about the benefits of Zen. Including (surely?!) those working inside the zone of Bitcoin development. But then we forget to practice it, when under pressure, just because we've logged-in to some platform that facilitates open and free discussion.

So who exactly is doing "wrong" here? And isn't it good to get a low-cost opportunity to forcefully argue over important things?

Such an activity is never seen in Congress or in Parliament. So embrace getting your nose bloodied online because that's the price you're gonna have to pay to get the best and worst out of those you are in disagreement with.

I would suggest ... some of the deepest and most dependable truths are reliably forced "out into the open" whenever anger and outrage is allowed to influence an exchange of views between intelligent men.

Did You Know?

Women traditionally live longer than men in all countries, and this difference is acknowledged by (more or less) all qualified geriatricians.

In fact, females of almost all animal species are also significantly ahead of males in terms of life expectancy.

The most obvious reason for such a fixed differential is not difficult to identify. It's essentially because "male" and "female" are the products of two very different evolutionary pathways.

According to a Russian scientist named Novoselov ... women and men are different designs in terms of evolution:

“In all countries, women (on average) live longer, and this also applies to almost all species of animals on the planet” ... the expert said.

Why so? I own a Kindle. But I much prefer the feel (and smell) of a real, physical book. 🤓

I just hate buying them from Amazon.

YES ... but this "trend" if I may call it that, has been going on since long before Tinder. At a rough guess, it started sometime during the 1980s, and emerged as a problem during the 1990s. To escape it, I began dating Anglo-Indian girls ... until the GFC turned everything in my life on its head.

I'd rather not accuse you of being wrong Peter, but what you've omitted to say about the "real" China includes hidden facts that would shock most people. The most blatant of which are as follows ...

China joined the World Trade Organization (at the time, many argue prematurely) on December 11, 2001. That event was the culmination of 15 years of almost constant negotiations, during which China made extensive "commitments" to reform its domestic policies and reduce trade barriers (after all incentives to do so had already been removed by their late 2001 accession to the WTO!).

Unsurprisingly, therefore, China never fulfilled those commitments to the WTO ... an organization it has arrogantly tried to dominate in the same way it has tried (some would argue, successfully) to dominate the WHO.

China has cheated (in one way or another) almost every nation it has ever engaged with commercially since early 2002 ... and especially those more creative nations, such as Britain, the USA, Canada, Germany, and Australia. They also commenced a series of corrupt projects in both Cambodia and Malaysia. The chronic problems in Myanmar also carry the fingerprints of Beijing.

What this means is ... China has engaged in premeditated Intellectual Property theft on a grand scale, to such a degree, it should have already been thrown out of the WTO.

For example, all those sleek and fancy 300 mph trains you can see displayed in Youtube videos started out as the technologically brilliant brainchild of Germany's Siemens ... which the Chinese then turned into a self-congratulatory "nationalist" achievement after acquiring (i.e., stealing) all the know-how from the too trusting Germans.
