The nav bar thing is something lots of people have mentioned, I think we'll come up with a way to get rid of it. The point about expecting the overlays to remember what you were doing is interesting, I'll think about it
What in particular do you dislike? Most of the changes recently have in fact been designed by a professional.
This irritates me as well. Technically, Nostrudel is following the spec. But because moderation is required, communities tend to die. So my suggestion is to encourage people to use coracle instead, or ask other client devs to loosen up their moderation requirement, to at least give users the option to see an unmoderated version of the community.
It looks like your only feed is based on nostr:nprofile1qyvhwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnndehhyapwwdhkx6tpdshszythwden5te0dehhxarj9emkjmn99uq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd4hk6tcpzemhxue69uhkyetkduhxummnw3erztnrdakj7qg4waehxw309aex2mrp0yhxummnw3ezucn89uq32amnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwv3sk6atn9e5k7tcpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq35amnwvaz7tm8v9kxz7rexyejumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuum5dahx2u3wvdhk6tcqypgdujfvle28y3gd7xspwm7ldkg4a97ttk0c60kvaa7jtlc23pcautzzj93 Moon Boi list, which doesn't have any entries. I'll work on adding more transparency to lists and feeds so they're more browsable, but for now try some other list.
Lol — that's not a bad idea, although it would max out if someone had too many feeds nostr:nprofile1qyw8wumn8ghj7cm0w4h8gunfv4ejuenfv96x5ctx9e3k7mf0qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3camnwvaz7tmrdphhyatn9ekkj6m9v35kcem9wghxxmmd9uq3jamnwvaz7tmgdajxccn0vshxummnw3erztnrdakj7qg3waehxw309ahx7um5wgh8w6twv5hszymhwden5te0wp6hyurvv4cxzeewv4ej7qg6waehxw309ac8junpd45kgtnxd9shg6npvchxxmmd9uq32amnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwv3sk6atn9e5k7tcqypaaaaa7ytwcuk05vq8qgj498gw0jadfm37j0h6cxw780kmcffvq2eg7e7p

It's very weird for code
See:
No, that's funky, just released a fix
I have random lists that show up all the time too 😂
By the same logic, there is not enough content on nostr for reposts to matter. Both are mechanisms for content discovery. Reposts push, custom feeds pull. If the user is to be in control, that means pull is preferable.
Sure, another idea is to put the secondary nav on the right. Just a thought
Sure, well, it depends on what you mean by privacy. Private groups are one thing, IP leaks are another. I've tried to advertise encrypted groups as "closed" so people don't get a false sense of security. I've also written articles like this one:
nostr:naddr1qvzqqqr4gupzp978pfzrv6n9xhq5tvenl9e74pklmskh4xw6vxxyp3j8qkke3cezqqxnzd3cxuurqv3sxqmrxwfcruzat4
I'm not sure what the relevance of the quoted note is, but closed groups are private (not an amazing encryption scheme but still)
The other stuff is a bit hidden, if the don't explore they don't see it. I also think the expectation is for twitter clients, so people don't look. Only a guess though.
Sounds like something got lost in translation and youbwere only halfway logged in. Lemme know if it happens again
Yep, is the secondary nav too annoying?
It's my moat, going to embrace, extend extinguish. I would be interested in comments on the nip, I'm still not sure the set operations are worth it.
Thanks, I'll look into it
Digging this coracle update. I need a tutorial on proper setup and use case for lists in feed curation. I assumed I knew what it did but not getting anything when I filter on a list. Guessing I’m not doing something right. nostr:nprofile1qyd8wumn8ghj7urewfsk66ty9enxjct5dfskvtnrdakj7qguwaehxw309a5x7ervvfhkgtnrdaexzcmvv5h8gmm0d3ej7qg3waehxw309ahx7um5wgh8w6twv5hsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjme0qythwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wvfskuep0qy28wumn8ghj7un9d3shjctzd3jjummjvuhszymhwden5te0wp6hyurvv4cxzeewv4ej7qpqjlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qy6253a nostr:nprofile1qyghwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qyt8wumn8ghj7ur4wfcxcetjv4kxz7fwvdhk6tcprdmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68yurvv438xtnrdakj7qg5waehxw309aex2mrp09skymr99ehhyee0qy0hwumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttjv4kxz7fwv3jhyettwfhhxuewd4jj7qgewaehxw309aex2mrp0yh8xmn0wf6zuum0vd5kzmp0qydhwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytn0wfskuem9wp5kcmpwv3jhvtcpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezumt4w35ku7thv9kxcet59e3k7mf0qyfhwumn8ghj7mmxve3ksctfdch8qatz9uqzq0mhp4ja8fmy48zuk5p6uy37vtk8tx9dqdwcxm32sy8nsaa8gkey8qu9kq
I'll take a peek
The notes you publish get sent to your outbox relays. If those aren't functioning, those notes may not end up getting published at all.
You should be able to scroll down to search groups, although not all are repesented on that page yet
They're not working for me either. They don't seem to be working on nostrudel either, so my assumption is that they're currently not running.
Lawyered up and ready to go 💪
That's a kind 30003 list you created at some point — probably some other client that was using the list kind for something of their own devising
Also in the new update is a better relay settings page. In addition to being not completely bewildering, you can now toggle your read and write relays independently.

Hello, which specific other nostr apps are you aware of?
I have noted on damus 10002 https://github.com/damus-io/damus/issues/2120
Hard to say, but whatever client you're using (I assume damus?) is doing it. I'm able to find the parent note because it's tagging the user's pubkey, but there aren't any relay hints.
To all client developers:
- Stop using note1 entities, or add e tags with hints when quoting stuff
- Add pubkey hints to e tags (https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/1171)
- Publish kind 10002 relay selections so other clients can find your users' content
Coracle frequently has trouble loading quotes because some popular client or other is doing none of these things.

That works well for local queries or for relays that support map/reduce (which is a good idea), but less well for generic remote relay access, at least in the short term. My approach is to generate efficient queries rather than post process, which is mostly doable.
It seems like regardless of fetching strategy nostrscript and my nip are representing basically the same stuff, so as long as they could be compiled into one another they could be considered equivalent.
Does nostrscript have a spec yet? Until it's more widely available to developers it sort of fails the interoperability test. It's not trivial to write an interpreter for custom feeds either, but it's more accessible since there's no parsing step required.
I agree, and Coracle does have broadcast at least
People should choose violence more often
Just heard about nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn angle on focused nostr social network with example of one's church communications (mine is so facebook :( ) Not quite sure how to learn more or where to start.
Try coracle.tools to start - I'm happy to chat!
I really want to leave the two phones in a room together and come back a day later to see what they're talking about. Stuck in an infinite loop? Ululating lovecraftian glossolalia in perfect hypophrygian harmony? Somewhere in between?
That's a very good example
Btw, your reply here isn’t showing up as being attached to my original post on Nostur nostr:npub1n0sturny6w9zn2wwexju3m6asu7zh7jnv2jt2kx6tlmfhs7thq0qnflahe
That's my fault, looks like I've introduced a bug on tagging parents
nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn you should interview Dr Laura Sanger about the federal reserve
What is even happening, someone is talking about the fed on a... *checks notes* cryotozoology podcast?
Got another blog post for ya'll on the "ethics of nostr".
nostr:naddr1qvzqqqr4gupzp978pfzrv6n9xhq5tvenl9e74pklmskh4xw6vxxyp3j8qkke3cezqqxnzde3x5erwvpsxgcrjwpewfpd4q
@mikedilger, @Vitor Pamplona, @Tony, and literally everyone else — there are things we disagree on, but as I hope this post makes clear, I appreciate all of you guys 🫂
That's a sure fire way to destroy the protocol. The last thing we want to do is couple it with all the cancerous nonsense that hurts people, enriches scammers, gets people in trouble with securities laws, confuses normies, etc etc.
It's been a while since I tried repl.it, I'll give it a shot
Yep. But if chaos ensues, nostr 2 will be invented and curated by a nietzschean strongman who will maintain a fork of the protocol in an opinionated way.
Internal communication: telepathy
External communication: telekinesis
No, it's because I want to underweight small numbers of mutes, and overweight large numbers.
Recently had both these guys on the @Thank God For Nostr Podcast and both are some of the most forward thinking people in nostr. And they're working together on an amazing project!
@hzrd149 's episode won't be out for a few more weeks, but you can listen to @Stuart Bowman here: https://fountain.fm/episode/ksAfGHgXEwE32QME1oGR
Damus blocks tor connection.
Theres a few relays with .onion in this GitHub repo
https://github.com/0xtrr/onion-service-nostr-relays
https://relayable.org/ also has a .onion
nos.lol and relay.nostr.band seem to be working ok on Tor as well.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I was building before the money showed up, and I will continue building after it runs out. The difference money makes is that in the meantime I get to work on nostr full time, for which I'm *extremely* grateful. Less politics, more gratitude.
I was excited to get it for my kids but dang either I don't understand it or it sucks
i just realised it's only on sent zaps that coracle takes a percentage, if you use that setting. Can't seem to load snort now to see if you can have it take a percentage of received zaps on there. That seems like a good option tho. not sure if that's possible(?) nostr:nprofile1qyvhwumn8ghj76r0v3kxymmy9ehx7um5wgcjucm0d5hszxnhwden5te0wpuhyctdd9jzuenfv96x5ctx9e3k7mf0qyw8wumn8ghj76r0v3kxymmy9e3k7unpvdkx2tn5dahkcue0qqsf03c2gsmx5ef4c9zmxvlew04gdh7u94afnknp33qvv3c94kvwxgsksxadh like make every post made on coracle an autosplit giving 5% or whatever it is you want, seems very possible
Yeah, that could be done, interesting idea
nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn Where do we paste the filter relay in #Coracle, since it's an app relay and not a mailbox?
I think I probably need to add a new category of relay for this use case.
I did that with a convenience store recently, they had a "no backpacks" sign which I diligently ignored. When the owner yelled at me to leave my backpack at the front I just turned around and left. Honestly just insulting.
