I am always on the lookout for equal but opposite POV’s. Thanks for the suggestions. My current focus is on some of the implications of quantum physics, the simulation hypothesis and the variety of thoughts around the direction of time. It’s quite challenging but definitely worth the effort 🙂
Thanks. It’s been interesting to say the least. Cheers.
Long story short, I was a pastor. Did my degree work in both theology and youth work. Via a variety of experiences and academic investigation I came to the conclusion that I had been intellectually dishonest. This lead me to challenge all of my priors. As a result I/we (wife) changed the direction of our lives in pursuit of a better explanations for both temporal and existential meaning and purpose.
That’s the version that got trashed.
A deep question that needs so time to explain, but what I had conceived to be my version of “god” got trashed. The effort is ongoing 🙂
Brutal! Some serious work needs to be done on these chisels 😩

I started in a similar place but find myself somewhere different these days. It took a while, but I’m ok with it.
Done. Some nice sizes to work with.

I read the question to be whether the mainstream platforms could run on top of the nostr protocol. My answer would revolve around a discussion about if they could continue to monetise their efforts to keep their business models alive on the nostr protocol. Most would say no.
I am harvesting some wood for the stock pile. I found his bed head on the side of the road. It’s made of a native wood that is not easy or cheap to acquire. I will give it some sort of a second life.

Simple answer is yes. In fact, there are dozens of books all built around the same core principles and you can choose any one or more to build a practice around. As with nearly all motor skills oriented challenges, a regular, systematic long term approach will get the best results. Give yourself at least a year, preferably two as a time frame before making any decisions about whether it’s for you or not. 🎵
I guess we need a definition of the word “profession.”

Sharpening some chisels. Quite a meditative task.

I found that the best way for me to tip the scales was to reframe the task of searching for knowledge. I developed my own approach called “Epithinking.” Epi, meaning from above, has become a great way for me to be able to seperate the emotion from the event by stepping easily into an observational frame of mind. This has allowed me to examine information without reflexively attaching an emotion, which in turn protects me from taking a side too quickly. It is an intellectual posture as well as a process.
I have been researching the simulation hypothesis for quite a while now. The Mandela effect is used by proponents like Rizwan Virk as a possible clue pointing to a “glitch” or a rerun of the sim. It’s common for many people to hold the same alternate version of an event (you probably already know this). If you are less certain, I would be interested to hear what you think might be the cause of your experience, or if you are dismissing it as nothing worth investigating.
Where my Simple Simon head is going is to a commercial relay farm designed specifically to harvest user habits and whatever else is transparent. Are there nostr watchdogs monitoring relays?

I’m not tech familiar, but can a relay have its data sifted through?

I just got myself a Pullman bread pan (the tall rectangular one with a sliding lid—you often see it for shokupan or Japanese milk bread) and I’m pretty excited to give it a try!
For the first run, I used my usual sourdough, so of course there are some adjustments to figure out like dough volume, baking time, and shaping. What I like is how convenient it feels—the loaf traps steam inside as it bakes, almost like a mini Dutch oven. So if you’re usually baking in the oven, this might be something fun to experiment with. I normally do open bakes, so I can’t say how much of a difference it makes overall, but I will say: way less fuss with steaming!
The one challenge, though—shaping the dough and getting it into that narrow pan with those tall, straight sides. Let’s just say high-hydration dough doesn’t exactly make it easier, and I was definitely juggling a slippery situation. 😂
Even with things to work on, the crust came out nice and crispy, singing that beautiful sound as it cooled. I’ll let it rest and see what the crumb looks like soon.
Anyway, I’ll keep practicing until I get the hang of it!
Wishing you all a happy and peaceful Sunday!

Looks awesome! Also I had my headphones on when I played the video and the ASMR experience was amazing!
The chances that you are buying Bitcoin for your grandchildren is practically nil. The “BTC is generational wealth” narrative needs to probably stop, or at least be rethought with ASI in mind.
Why? Initially Narrow (and then General) Artificial SUPER Intelligence is on its way. These WILL be applied to solving human life span challenges. Longevity Escape Velocity means that many of you WILL live much, much longer lives than you think. Then there is the potential lifespan of any children you may have. No disease. Deferred aging. Absolutely wild health and aging outcomes for the positive. Stop viewing Bitcoin through a 2015 lens and start looking at it through a 2030+ lens. The Bitcoin you are buying today will likely not be used in the current multi generational narrative way.

Most of the old frogs don’t actually know that there is another monetary option. Types of assets is a different conversation than a monetary system and a digital ledger.
