I used to be the same way. I never liked Nu Metal or many of of popular bands like Linkin Park because they sounded angry and I didn’t like being yelled at. Now I listen to lots of bands with the unclean vocals, but they are not angry, they are articulate, and almost always deep. https://youtu.be/wzcQw_uBFW0?si=7GeXXG87ZX0XkpOA here they are used as an accent.

I feel blessed to have my view of the world and my priorities in life to have been so positively changed. I can’t see all the higher workings of the universe to know why she has to go through her current struggles, but I’ve learned enough to know there is a purpose to it.

I meant focused on the wrong part of my story. I’m in no pain, I’m not sad or down about my situation at all. I feel blessed to be where I am. I have been given more than I would have if I got what I wanted. Look at the positives in life and be open to the greater gifts you didn’t ask for.

I think you are focusing on the wrong part. The circumstances are certainly not what I would have chosen, but they were chosen for a higher purpose and the results are greater than if I had been given the circumstances I would have asked for. At times it might be difficult, but I’m not sad myself. I’m blessed to be where I am.

Random stranger chiming in. I see from some of your other posts that this might be difficult to accept/understand but the universe is more complex than you imagine and there is a purpose in so much that happens to us. There could be some kind of growth opportunity there for her or even him. It might be that she has to break a bad habit. Personally I ended up with a very sweet girl who had been dealing with some disabilities that were supposed to have stabilized at a still highly functional state. A few years into the relationship I’ve sacrificed all my hopes for the future with the small hope remaining for a miracle to turn things around. I have become a much better person developing to a higher purpose. She may or may not even make it to 30. Either way I can say with confidence that her condition has served a higher purpose. Christ suffered a whole lot more than your friend for even worse people and that I’m sure you will agree was a good thing.

From what I’ve seen the Fedbois were calming walking around on Jan6 for a photo shoot. The left wing loonies have been there a few times to disrupt proceedings. No one has “stormed the capitol” since the last time it was burned down.

If you can be persuaded by Nazis to read Hitlers book and defend it, maybe there’s an acceptable reason for a Jew to come to his conclusions about Israel? Honestly I’ve had that book recommended to me by someone who is not a Nazi as a way to consider other points of view. I’ve found too many more constructive ways of doing that to spend time reading it, but I don’t think it’s necessary a bad thing to do. I certainly don’t have first or even second hand knowledge of what is really going on over there and can see intelligent people be very wrong about what is going on in my own town. My point was that you and that other guy are being very hard on someone who has good reason to have the views he has and I don’t see any evidence that you have access to anything information that he doesn’t. He seems plenty capable of verifying information in other areas and my only questioning of his views is the ability to objectively view the situation. Don’t radicalize people further for dismissing their primary knowledge because you think they should have come to a different view.

With over 1 billion of each, that’s not bad historically… especially considering they are just doing it for money now.

Says the guy who was turned on to Mein Kampf by Nazis and now is arguing about how many Jews were killed. From what I have observed following him for a while now: He has lived in Israel as a Jew. He has Muslim friends. Treats people he’s talking to better than you. Has lots of legitimate information to back his dislike of some of what goes on in Muslim countries. Maybe the true balance of crimes of Middle Eastern countries is different than how he sees it, but he’s not following any mainstream narrative I’ve seen.

You have mentioned more than once that we only see one way of telling someone about their health issues. No where did anyone say this is the only way we would do that. I specifically said it was Not the way I would do it. You have now described us in an unflattering manner. True uncreative is not generally considered as harsh as some of the names they had for the contestant, but at least theirs were accurate descriptions of obvious flaws. You have no way of knowing how creative someone is from a couple (or 1) posts here.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 in the Bible says, "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies".

What God would say to her is being expressed in at least one form by their statements. If you plan to seek what Gods message is for you, might I humbly suggest that Pride might be an issue of concern?

She and her enablers need to be brought back to reality. It’s not going to be a pleasant experience and people in danger of slipping into the same delusion need to be warned away from it. Not saying name calling would be my preferred method of doing that, but I seriously doubt Jack or this Jeff guy would actually call that person names to their face. In the military they call people worse for a whole lot less in order to make them stronger. No one is laughing at that person or even trying to degrade them. In each life we are entrusted with a vessel that should be cared for more than probably any other possession we have have. Christ took a whip to people defiling Gods temple. Now we each have a temple of flesh that we are to care for. Do you not think God has something to say about her defiling her temple with obvious bad health choices?

It’s more build than height. Some of them long legged elf types are pretty good scouts but terrible for heavy lifting.

“The Bible literally states” “the Bible is not a literal text”

You just discredited your own argument. Now if you were capable of the nuanced discussion we could talk about what constitutes the identity of a people and the rights of that people to a land. If you think it’s about what is “legal” than everything belongs to the almighty dollar and what it decides to make legal.

The Bible states that the Canaanites had become so evil that He destroyed them and gave the land to His chosen people. He even had them wait as at the time of Abraham their crimes against God had not yet come to the point of annihilating them. The Bible also tells of them losing their land again and again when they turned away from Him. So using the Bible to try and say it’s not theirs is ridiculous. Saying they need to get right with God if they want their land back would be a decent argument.
