Hello, Nostr community!
We're Kagi, and we believe in a better web experience that is ad-free, tracking-free, and privacy-respecting. We've worked hard to deliver a high-quality, fast, and reliable search experience without compromising user privacy: https://kagi.com/
We also created Orion, a lightweight, WebKit based browser that is incredibly fast, with a built in ad blocker and zero telemetry, making it private by design: https://kagi.com/orion/
We're fairly new to using Nostr, and any help on how best to engage this community will be greatly appreciated.
I only found out about Kagi because of nostr:nprofile1qyfhwumn8ghj7am0wsh82arcduhx7mn99uq3kamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwwajhxar9wfhxyarr9e3k7mf0qyd8wumn8ghj7urewfsk66ty9enxjct5dfskvtnrdakj7qg4waehxw309aex2mrp0yhxummnw3ezucn89uq3jamnwvaz7tmswfjk66t4d5h8qunfd4skctnwv46z7qpq80cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsfcmww9 here on Nostr. Glad you are finally here.
I just helped a friend withdraw his bitcoin from crypto.com to his own wallet. I said try with a small amount first, so he used the minimum amount of 0.001 BTC. He didn't pay close attention to the fee, after a while he said: "Why did I only receive 0.0005 BTC?". Turns out the fee for bitcoin withdrawals is a whopping 0.0005 BTC which is 50% of what he is withdrawing. That's nuts. Close to 50€ for access to his own funds. That's why you have to buy bitcoin using non-custodial methods. Don't support this kind of nonsense.

Ubuntu 24.10 just came out and is pretty solid. Just try something out, see how it works.
After over a year on Ubuntu Touch, I am back on LineageOS for now. Without GAPPS of course, but still Android. Main reason is performance, camera issues and battery life on LTE. Plus no current browser and missing AGPS. I still think it has a lot of potential to be a great alternative to Android or iOS.
Not if you use 2FA.
When Damus for Ubuntu Touch?
What is the alternative? No image at all looks bad.
Did you know there is a Nostr client for Ubuntu Touch called NoStrut? Developed by nostr:npub15cv4xurrvy59u9fnwux0h4md8r86hm82war8x649283y2k8q83lsee2ycd
Thanks for the repost :)
nostr:npub1hu3hdctm5nkzd8gslnyedfr5ddz3z547jqcl5j88g4fame2jd08qh6h8nh and I love #vinyl
Is there a #vinylstr crowd out there?
#grownostr
Yes, Vinyl is still the hardest form of music 🎶
Thanks for the idea, just implemented "open externally" via njump in my client to view notes and profiles in your browser.
From all Linux phone OS options, it is the most fleshed out for sure imo. It feels like an OS made for phones and not a desktop system crammed onto a tiny screen. I enjoy using it a lot. Sure I may have to live without some apps or features, but overall it is really useable (if your phone is well supported).
I am using a Oneplus 5T, but best supported currently are probably the volla phones that come with Ubuntu Touch preinstalled or the fairphone 4. Pixel 3a is also a good choice. But yeah you won't be using the newest flagships on this OS, which is fine for me, but may be a deal breaker for some. You can check the exhaustive list of all devices and their current status here: https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/
Wonder why Firefox don't have apk file you can download direct from them and not in fdroid either?..
On F-Droid there is Fennec, which is basically Firefox but without telemetry.
It is always funny to me how people happily want to give away control over their personal information and computers just to play online video games.
I guess most "gamers" do not care about privacy and security at all.
I didn't even notice that the lightning icons had a different color 😄
So you're totally right, arrows are easier to grasp.

That's why I use Matrix to bridge them into one and use a matrix client of my choice on any device. FluffyChat is a good one.
