I’m a bit of an outsider, so I admit they all look rather similar to me, just with Bitcoin being the original and others trying to solve some problem they saw, like “sucks it’s not viable to mine this on a computer anymore”, or “our money isn’t meme-y enough”, or even “we want to make our own cryptocurrency based off of someone else’s code, and hope to make lots of money off of it”

To me it’s honestly reminded me of something I’ve seen from a lot of alternative social media.

Everything feels wonderful at first, everyone’s cordial and friendly, every argument’s taken with some level of consideration towards keeping some level of peace…

But then, at a certain point - perhaps with enough people joining - it all kinda collapses. I’ve kinda wondered if I’ll ever find a place where this doesn’t happen at some point in time.

Anyways, my interests in finding folks like myself aside, I've already learned a few things so far. Would be lying if I said flying without any sort of moderation isn't a bit of a daunting concept for me, but I know where the mute/block buttons are and how to use them, and if absolute worst comes to worst, well... I know where the door is.

Aside from that, though, I also fully admit I didn't realize the lightning network was a thing. I knew ethereum had its own layer 2 system, and it makes sense bitcoin would have one as well, I guess I just never really took the time to look into it.
