If you want to find the ultimate nutritional truth, you must think in molecules, not pretty colors and what "seems" super natural and healthy based on the incomplete stories we've been told.

This is where 99% of health influencers are stuck. They don't understand that the fruit we see today are NOT natural—they are a manmade frankenfood resulting from thousands of years of bioengineering. Even the most home-grown, pesticide-free fruit you grew in your own garden is just a clump of fiber & sugar that inflicts the exact same damage onto your liver as alcohol.

Fructose = fructose = fructose.

If you want to have a piece of fruit every once in a while, go for it! None of us are perfect and it's obviously not going to kill you immediately.

But just understand that doing so is purely for taste bud entertainment. It is a clear net-negative for your health.

I jokingly have called bananas "nature's donuts" for years, but mostly as a way to communicate that they are healthier than donuts, yet also a convenience and treat (like a donut would be).

I still stand by the idea that bananas are less bad for you than donuts and if you cut donuts out and replaced them with bananas, that would be better than continuing to eat donuts every day.

But looks like I was wrong about thinking that they were a "much better" option. Still way too much sugar and way too easy to overeat ... just like donuts.

• #Nostr exclusive: The Pillars of Health

This is what I consider the most essential things to get your health in order. From these pillars you can build and stack other healthy habits like sun bathing, socialising, intermittent fasting, etc.

Within just a couple weeks, I have been seeing noticeable improvements in mental clarity, memery and reduced anxiety by changing my diet to "mostly not plants".

I haven't done much research on the Lightning Network. I'm familiar with crypto-currency and was active with it before Lightning became widely used. Then took a break for a while. Looks like I have some catching up to do.

I also really like the straightforward, cash-like utility of Monero.

Looks like the nostr #NIP15 allows for payment to be handled however you like, so Monero or even a credit card payment will work for a decentralized marketplace.

If expecting a communication to be private, best not to use email at all.

Some kind of self-hosted or peer-to-peer encrypted chat would be a better way to go than email.

You did the right thing to make those changes. I'm sure it wasn't easy, but so worth doing!

I'm a couple weeks into eating "mostly not plants" (beef, lamb, dairy and a small amount of plants for flavor and variety). I already feel quite different with positive results.

Sometimes we just have to do something drastically different to get the results we want.

Then I must have found the right network!

Great to be here and see people having a good time and being optimistic.

I am surprised at how small the audience is right now at nostr. I thought I had totally missed my chance at being an early adopter because I didn't jump on a year ago when I heard about it.

Saw on nostr:npub1sx9rnd03vs34lp39fvfv5krwlnxpl90f3dzuk8y3cuwutk2gdhdqjz6g8m that I am currently in the top 20 trending users and that earlier I briefly held the number one trending user status.

Currently about nine thousand active users a day. That's enough to have a significant audience... but tiny compared to most other popular social networks.

I guess I am early enough to consider myself an early adopter!

The search and stats are superior on nostr compared to the Fediverse. There's already easy to find tools to get a lot of information about what's happening on the nostr network.

Yeah, nostr has to get past being the place that people just talk about nostr.

That naturally happens over time. Every tech protocol (new way of doing things) starts with a small group and spreads from there if it is successful. If there's nothing to draw people to using it, it becomes less used as the enthusiasm of the initial group wanes.

Being creative with communication and with the other possibilities of the protocol (NIPS) are likely to be the key to widespread nostr adoption.

While I working on putting Linux on a refurbished HP EliteDesk 800 G3 mini computer for a customer, I'm listening to this presentation by nostr:npub1nxy4qpqnld6kmpphjykvx2lqwvxmuxluddwjamm4nc29ds3elyzsm5avr7 on Nostr Apps.

Right now I am mostly using the Primal web client in Firefox web browser, but I plan on experimenting with quite a few clients, including ones for desktop Linux.

I'll look stuff up and do my own research, too.

Just thought I'd ask in case you said "yeah, this guide is awesome, here's a link".

Self-hosting a video server goes a long way toward being censorship resistant.

We host our own #peertube video server:

That still depends on the DNS domain name system, but for the foreseeable future, that's fine.

I'm looking forward to seeing if nostr can provide an alternative to DNS for self-hosted services.

Any good guides (text, PDF, webpage) that you recommend consulting for setting up wallets to connect with nostr so I can Zap?

That's something I haven't done yet, as I've only been using nostr for about a day so far.

#zap

I believe so. It is my understanding that the NIPs are more agreed upon guidelines and that the clients usage of them is what solidifies the practical standard (correct me if I am wrong).

I do plan to both experiment and test other clients use of these NIPs and work on building some.

This is so true.
