I literally don’t even think about it. But I got enough liquidity for small payments to not be an issue a long time ago. So I probably haven’t paid a swap fee for anything less than 1mil sats like a year. I know some people who got hit with one on 10k sats, so I can see why that would be painful.

RIP Matthew Perry

Dude added a lot of laughter to the world.

There are literally zero freedoms that can be meaningfully protected if you are forced to use a money that someone else can alter, freeze, print, or surveil at their discretion and without your consent.

It's the total and complete revocation of anything even resembling free market forces & property rights.

CBDCs will be the nail in the coffin of the free world... whatever still remains of it.

I understood that reference. 😆

I challenge everyone who zaps a standard amount to keep their zaps the same nominal amount until the 2032 halving.

I zap 1000 sats.

If BTC is $500K, that’ll be $5⚡️

If BTC is $2M, that’ll be $20⚡️

Funny, it will likely be much more, because I think $20 in 2032 will likely be worth only $1 or $2 in todays terms. That would suggest 40% real average inflation every year... or more realistic, that’s 10% per year for 7 of those years, and then 2 years with around a 200% average.

Just for comparison: US debt is ~$33T, and unfounded liabilities are around $100T. For those to match during the same period it would require 12-15% average yearly inflation. My assumption is that if inflation is that bad for multiple years (which it may have to be) and #Bitcoin exists alongside this, there will be an aggressive period of partial demonetization of the dollar, causing the 100+ percent inflation zone)

Understand I don’t think this will necessarily be measured in CPI (it’s a shit metric), I think it will happen in the broad money supply. Massive technological growth could make this really hard to see.

So if 1 BTC really equals 1 BTC, then keep zapping the same amount 😂

Anchor is the main publishing platform for Spotify these days (it’s also free), but it still just gives a simple RSS feed from what I can tell and they automatically publish on a bunch of different platforms, and any others can just plug in the RSS feed they have in settings.

I’ve actually switched *back* to Anchor recently just because I had been paying so much for Megaphone and it has so few “extra features” (that I barely even use anyway) that I couldn’t possibly justify $200 a month for it.

There are a bunch of middling services that charge reasonable prices and have decent features, Buzzsprout, Libsyn, Podbean, Captivate, Transistor.fm, Blubrry, etc.

I’ve tinkered with all of these but I suggest you look through at what each offer because depending on how much you publish and how many downloads you expect, different services will give you better prices and features. A reason I didn’t go with a number of those listed is because they either 1) limit how much you can upload per month, then charge a lot more — I do a BUNCH of shows in a month — or 2) They charge per download, where the low cost options only give you a few thousand or maybe a few 10s of thousands in downloads, then they start charging heavy prices for more bandwidth.

Because of that, I still just ended up back at anchor, but depending on where you are in it, some of those others might be really useful.

Payment = settlement in bitcoin. There is no gap to arbitrage. You are simply projecting a fiat problem that you may mistakenly believe is some fact of life or political inevitability, onto a technology that doesn’t have this issue. It simply *cant* be exploited in that way. If a technology allows exploitation or arbitrage somewhere, then it will be exploited, but in this situation, and in this particular way, #Bitcoin makes this form of manipulation impossible.

(The proof of this is MtGox, FTX, Alameda, and the 100s of other insolvencies in the space, they played the exact same game that our banks and the fiat financial system does *as a rule,* but Bitcoin refuses to play… so they did, very quickly in fact.)

Microapps are my life right now. 😆

Literally thinking about taking it to the next level and making an UI to manage and utilize the microapps I’ve built so I don’t fill my dock with all of them.

Would be cool to have one place (like a drop zone) where I can quickly switch between whatever app I’m trying to use.

FYI the link you gave is actually your internal donation page for editing it. in other words its specific to your account.

Luckily nostr:npub1utx00neqgqln72j22kej3ux7803c2k986henvvha4thuwfkper4s7r50e8's URL scheme is very simple so I had what I needed to get the public link 🤣

Just the upgraded fan made it this quiet ? wow nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev you ever thought about upgrading your fans so you never have to shut down while on a podcast ? 👀 curious if it doesn’t bother you or if it’s a hassle to upgrade them all

The only problem with those fans (and almost all “silent” branded fans) is they don’t move nearly the volume as the stock onboard fans. I wouldn’t run them on anything above low power mode, and honestly wouldn’t trust that very much either.

I *am* changing my fans either way though, but I’ve got beefier miners (Whatsminer M30s), and I want it to really move some air because it’s going to be in my central ducting system.

Ive purchased AC infinity fans for testing/exploring.

I swear my son would just walk around the yard and play with the grass and leaves from dawn until dusk if I let him. https://v.nostr.build/39kk.mov

Yeah. My brother has one and it’s decent, but still just not quite there. I’m super picky about the look and feel of my hardware

It’s a network & platform with an absolutely insane amount of people on it. IMO, saying we should all just abandon it and leave the iPhoners with no options is like saying we should write the best book in the world but refuse to print a version in English.

In addition, I love my MacBook M1. Apple makes awesome hardware. The iPhone on the other hand is replaceable, it’s good, but nothing magical. There are some great android devices too. The Mac hardware however is extremely hard to beat, their application ecosystem is hugely valuable especially for media production, and Windows as an alternative OS is just a joke, imo. Linux is solid and it’s free… as long as you don’t value your time. h/t nostr:npub1utx00neqgqln72j22kej3ux7803c2k986henvvha4thuwfkper4s7r50e8

I have various issues/problems/privacy & control concerns with Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and all the major social platforms. I pick my battles.

Yeah I have no idea what that guy is talking about. Pretty sure he’s just trolling.

I’m gonna do something better than NextCloud… 😉

Haha nah it’s the cesspool we left on Twitter

Always get them something nice for Christmas but that’s usually the only time. Although I run out with Rad every week when they come by and he gets a honk 😆

Rad absolutely loves big trucks man.

Plebstr doesn’t connect to any relays on iOS anymore. Haven’t been able to use it in like 3 weeks. Anyone have info about this or an idea of what I could do to fix? 🤔

I have it in a multisig with a Tapsigner I keep at home and a backup of the wallet in my encrypted email, and a written down backup of my mobile seed stored away as well.

So even if I lose my phone and my Tapsigner while traveling, I can just get a new phone and boot it all back up with the other Tapsigner and my mobile key seed words.

It can definitely work, I just can’t troubleshoot the steps without a VM.

I could try to throw something together this afternoon though and we can see what we come up with. It would only take a simple installation of FFMPEG and maybe a traditional bash script.

I’ll look into it and get back to you. Could be a fun, 30 minute project or so.

I hear there’s a podcast that fixes this 🤣 nostr:note1z6vfp7undvt9c2kn3sgqk6tc0aykr7q2p33a2q07xg84fnhxhpms9evnl9

Needs a PIN so you can’t sign with a flipper. But I keep min in an NFC protected wallet anyway.

S9 is not even that hard. Plugs into a regular outlet. Get a more quiet fam and use that crypto cloaks case (or make your own if you’ve got the tools and a fun idea) and then just plug the guy in and you’re basically good.

Definitely change the fans though. 😆

This might be my best strategy actually, lol. I just try to be very deliberate about my follow list, but maybe I need to let that go.
