Thank you. This one was a scrap piece for my own use, so its a little wonky.

I just started the first book, but it's already entertaining.

Snakeskin & suede magnetic bookmarks!

I've been excited about making these. I can't decide if I should sew the edges or leave them alone. I think stitching on snakeskin looks too busy. Going stitchless on the bracelets has worked out well.

I think of "pin" as a semi-permanent action, and 'bury' as semi-temporary. I like them both, but bury gets used more because of the nature of annoyance.

Trying to manually clean up 30k pubkeys into a browsable feed is too much. I can't do it. Some hops out on WoT, people start following all sorts of spammy, weird, and nasty things. I just can't get ahead of it.

I'm going to break the stream on aplaceinthesun, after I figure out where I'm going to read & write in replacement. Then, I'm going to try expanding the allowed keywords on aquaticchickentheory and see if I can do something interesting with that. The dual allow criteria should make it relatively simple to clean up popular hashtags. I can't currently republish nor stream recipes there anyway, so its basically just an occasional reposted picture of soup, as it is. πŸ˜…

Sure, if you have other questions, feel free to ask. I'll answer what I can.

Nostrcade is spam. I didn't sign up to play anything nor do i want to. Thanks for the satoshis though. πŸ˜…

If you are subscribed to any paid relays, keep those as read, and maybe 1 or 2 others. Play around with it. If you see spam or still miss replies, swap the free ones to others.

Your read/inbox relays help to protect your received replies from spam & other unwanted things. But, you might want to write to big, public relays so your notes are more prolific. A lot of spam makes it through the big, public relays because spam accounts look a lot like a new user. Nostr overall is currently midway between 2 very different methods of handling the exchange of notes. Eventually, it will matter less where you write, but it will always matter where you read.

aah, thanks for the yakihonne trick... interestingly, all that's there in yakihonne is the link list from my https://nostree.me page

Readwithboris does seem to display from everywhere, i think it is indiscriminate about list name. All of this got me to suspect the other clients use their own lists for bookmarks.

I think you're right. Ghosts of static relay settings... I look forward to a day when some dummy-friendly client enables search & fetch of specific kinds.

There's lots of reasons you may not connect consistently. If you're not receiving notifications, you would probably benefit from different/less read relays. 1-3 read, 1-3 write is a good set up. Write = where you publish your notes. Read = where you receive interactions to your notes. They can be the same or different. Too many of either (more than 5) can cause added issues. Some things will still be inconsistent but you should see improvement on you're own stuff. Best is subjective. There's also some client specific nuances. Which app do you use?

In Yakihonne, they are kind of buried. You have to open the main menu > dashboard > then swipe over on the bottom bar. I don't know why they wouldn't be making it to your relays though.

Gratitude πŸ’”

I thought they were handling them differently, but they are simply not finding them. https://readwithboris.com does a great job of that. Run it with a local relay with it & you'll have most, if not all, of your bookmarks in one place.

πŸ’― I really want to make a super fancy set of dominoes out of local stone someday, but it just seems so unrealistic right now πŸ˜…

In glad you commented before I ordered molds off of Amazon πŸ˜‚ that's a great idea, I'm going to do both.

I completely forgot I had this thing. Thanks for reminding me, nostr:nprofile1qqsx0z3s3evuynhpkdptpl56hhm0m7jaenps46e8tffhu8ml5psfl0qpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wghxyctwvshszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz70uvssx

I'd argue that there are actually 3, but... Funny enough, my next little "series", after I finish writing about relays, will be focused around using Nostr practically. I don't intend to write about specific niches, but more broadly about stringing various applications & relays together to achieve a purpose, with a few exemplary pairings. I've been a bit busy & locked in my head lately, so progress has slowed. I'm glad you're seeing what I'm seeing though. That tells me it's not a terrible idea.

As far as helping to keep other things current, those are definitely tailored towards a "heard of nostr in a random YT video or tweet" type of audience. Broad and solid, I think, is important for that. I am no final authority on those, but it still feels appropriate to expose my logic, even if it only matters to 5 people 😜🀣

πŸ«‚ nostr:nprofile1qqsdcnxssmxheed3sv4d7n7azggj3xyq6tr799dukrngfsq6emnhcpspz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezumrpdejz7qg4waehxw309aex2mrp0yhxgctdw4eju6t09uq3kamnwvaz7tm5dpjkvmmjv4ehgtnwdaehgu339e3k7mf0stypnq ...there are few situations where this addendum doesn't apply. I appreciate those situations more than I can express. Keeps me goin' πŸ’œπŸ˜

Why don't more clients support zap splits?

Normie mobile chrome w/amber is where i am seeing it, if that helps.

They do, and that's part of my dilemma/motivation with aquaticchickentheory πŸ˜… Recipes get lost amongst all the other stuff in long-form & follow feeds. The only DVM dedicated to food doesn't pull them in. They are viewable lots of places but the only way to browse them is drectly on zap .cooking.

The revelation of the true insight behind the GMs comes when you sychronistically see one in real life. πŸ˜…

Not like anything I say should matter, but it's important that modularity outcompetes or is, at least, comparable in the short term, so monolithic apps are less likely to create capture via complexity & obscurity. The whole ux sucks if you can't figure out how to leave when you want to.

I try to be, while I can. Winter often doesn't provide such comfortable affordances.

I don't watch very many shows but you almost talked me into it.

🀣 this joke is too niche isn't it? It is... I knew better, dammit.

Relays can only help if clients are capable if facilitating what they can do. There's a bunch of interesting relays already that don't receive much activity because interacting with/on them is limited to 4-5 clients, none of which are the big 4. Unleash relay developers & operators from the follow feed & that would unlock uncountable possibilities.

I pulled a muscle in my back, between my shoulder blades. Even breathing hurts. This is stupid. I have to go to a social thing later & that's hard enough to do already. Damn it. πŸ˜…

It's for July & Aug. I thought I was doing something legitimately wrong for a while, so I had closed & combined as one PR. Anyway, it's there when you have time. 😊
