Thanks, I stand corrected, but I know there are some issues that occur with codegen. Personally, I'm working on a large project that cannot be reproducible, most likely because of codegen, the target we use, and our insane amount of dependency crates.
yeah, maybe once rustc does reproducible builds. Also Floresta exists, did not try it yet.
Since when is MacOS open source? Never!
nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx I inquired into OpenSats and a few Bitcoin-only companies, but was ultimately rejected based on my location.
I'm not a "builder bro" (family time is my main priority) and only want to work on meaningful FOSS for a very humble amount of sats.
Do you have any guidance for me?
Get Eric Voskuil on citadel or listen to his Bitcoin takeover interviews. The project is solid but, from his words, hasn't taken any third-party funding.
As a dev, libbitcoin is ok to get running and hack on, but it's missing the type of project management that core has. It's not really possible to find out what needs to be done, unless it's behind closed doors. All their comm channels seem dead
I can't be the only one who tried this (went to silverblue + container workflow) and then had a little devil inside telling me to go back to the niche distro and be productively unproductive
Just cause someone works on open source doesn't mean they are a hero or villain. Is this a vague reference to something?

Ты не знаешь почему не давно (недели 2-3), на этом релей, другие кайнды появились, именно не на русском языке? Когда я филтирую чтобы только ноты kind 1 показываются, и теперь всё как и было.
I go to https://translate.kagi.com/ every time I want to translate something on my phone. I also use Firefox for Android just because I can't find any other browser that is not worse (and I avoid browsers as much as possible there).
But still every single time I start typing "tra" I get Google Translate as the only suggestion. I've deleted all instances of Google Translate from my browsing history a long time ago and have never since visited it again. Kagi Translate is not available in the suggestions ever. The suggestions work as expected for every other website that I tried, except this one.
Is this Firefox being super shady (like they've always been)? Are they very evil?
Isn't the search completion provider configurable in the settings? Default was google I thought.
Ditched FF when they announced their plan to sell data a few months back
Who is this fuckin geek? I'd give him a swirly if his ex army ranger million dollar security team wasn't there to gun me down with silenced mp5s
It's a good idea but seems a bit dead. Probably no funding like other areas...wonder why...
it's gonna be so funny in 2032 when Bitcoin State network takeover is completed all the Core and Knots guys are sitting around drinking beers saying "i can't believe i blocked you over that" and hugging and maybe kissing and shit
yeah you guys are like a Bitcoin boyband and the label is Blockstream and the devs are Max Martin

nostr:npub17n4cuc4d6y6qh89dekvxrenfkt5s0n49xns00uavjaxpr36c55dq87fyh9 hey, clicking on an emoji that someone already reacted with under a note doesn't seem to work anymore (on mobile at least). It just highlights the emoji and then doesn't actually send the reaction event for me
I have a gift for seeing through the dirty tricks of people and governments.
A few days ago, I mentioned that we are being foolish about the op_return issue, this is a state attack to distract us and prevent privacy at the base layer of Bitcoin.

Who is going to be on the side of privacy? That's when we'll see who the feds really are, I suppose.
Some would call me a wimpy non-maxi for not believing in BTC as a medium of exchange. I consider it a great, if not the best, store of value and I will HODL until I'm forced to sell or if selling can grant me a major lifestyle change (ex. early retirement).
All the people gallivanting around trying on onboard people to custodial lightening wallets are just LARPing, since it's a type of influencer in the space.
Let's not forget it's still illegal as a payment method in some places. An to callback to your opinion on "permissionless" tech, sometimes it's only a matter of time before it becomes illegal.
> benefit of enclave managing the group members
Actually, I'm dumb, ignore me.
Struggling to see the benefit of the enclave managing the group members instead of just an admin, but maybe I'm just missing a bunch of details.
For the decentralized enclaves, I've been doing this exact thing using TLS established with quote attestation so that you're doing only trusted comms. Once Intel shutdown the CAS servers and discontinued consumer CPUs with SGX it became a huge PITA lol.
Another thing I've worked on was using distributed (or threshhold) signing of the enclave so that a party can, as you said, collectively agree on a new enclave.

Handsdown the best vlogs we've seen on here so far and top notch fatherly advice!
Oh, no, I misunderstood because I originally wrote out that I think Core needs even more forks or full rewrites.
I believe the opposite, that Core is mostly funded by companies that have specific interests, similar to the large corps that fund and contribute to Linux.
I'm not an expert by an means, but based solely on SLOC, I think it's doable to have at least 2-3 node implementations. I have not looked into libbitcoin very deeply, but maybe since they claimed recently that they can meet full consensus that it could become a viable option as well. Kind of talking out my ass now, so I'll stop.
"oh no i'm gunna buiiiillddddd!! aghh"...all over nostr
computer minimalism is still viable, don't listen to the bloatware devs
Hi Fake Clark, I hope you're right, but don't you think those chain ANALysis companies are doing something more sophisticated and can't determine when a UTXO has gone in and out of a mixer?
Even if the heuristic is false positive, will an exchange risk it for some pleb money?
US exchanges have to send know-your-transaction data to analysis companies to meet regulation standards. Probably will make a lot of UTXOs unusable or less fungible in the future?
I think that idea was already discussed and debunked as being harmful for small miners by putting them at risk for having their blocks replaced: https://gist.github.com/instagibbs/c436110890ab25aa9997b13c2270d5ce?permalink_comment_id=5568544#gistcomment-5568544
Doesn't matter to me, I just think the Knots extra config options are useful. They don't break consensus so idk why Core fans care so much about people running Knots or btcd. Maybe I'm too midwit to understand
Pubky Hole Recap!
gave up on #amethyst hacking after a few android studio crashes. guess a new thinkpad cannot handle the power of android development!
Thanks, haven't heard of iroh.
What are you thoughts on yggdrasil? I've used it a bit and had some success with hosting services on it. Seems similar to iroh but I haven't done a deep comparison yet.
it doesn't matter if i do it since i'm a nobody, and would most likely be the only one to follow it
when are they going to deprecate some NIPs and make "Nostr 2025 Standard" like programming languages do?
If the two best people have rabbit hole recap, the two worst should have rat hole recap heheee
I had to disable background usage cause it was killing my battery
Up the ante on the desktop and install OpenBSD!
