When you start to understand humanity and reality that the vast majority of people all want the same thing, you start to question the good guys vs evil guys narrative a bit. When you can place yourself in the shoes of the supposed bad guys, things become a lot less clear that they’re really as bad as they’ve been made out to be. Now, that’s not to say that the bad guys aren’t bad because there’s certainly some amount of shit heads in the world, but you do start to question wether we’re really the good guys or rather maybe, just maybe, we’re actually the bad guys. It’s all about perspective, I suppose.

Just a little tornado warning. Not much happening where I’m at. The storm went too far west of me. Freaked out wife. Fun times. #weather #nws #tornado

This is absolutely true. Some of the messiness is caused by ourselves and some is imposed upon us by others. It’s a challenge some days not to be affected mentally by it, but the best thing to do is rise above.

I’m intrigued by the idea of switching to a #Bitcoin standard, at least in part. I say ā€œin partā€ because my wife is unlikely to let me switch all our finances over to operating internally in Bitcoin so I’m going to have to do this with my toy money account. She’s coming around to the orange way of doing things, but it’s going to take some time.

Has anyone else done this and what has been your experience with it?

What have you learned from it?

Would you do something different if you had to do it again?

nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev if you haven’t done a podcast on this idea yet, it might be interesting to do one.

I need to figure out how to show past stock charts priced in #Bitcoin. I suppose a tool to price other asset price charts in Bitcoin would be helpful, too.

Can #TradingView do this?

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to do this?

Thanks!

It is strange times indeed. My wife and I were walking through Home Depot yesterday. They have all their Christmas stuff up already. This is in Avon, OH.

What we need is a standard way to import these that the clients can easily deal with. I went through an earlier list of yours and added the relays and the experience took longer than it should have. Maybe I should write a NIP for that if one doesn’t exist already.

I find the quality of the content on this platform is way better than elsewhere. I guess lack of advertising dollars will do that. That makes me happier. Of course, it takes more than #Nostr to make me happy, but this certainly helps.

What is it with kids these days? I have some kids who don’t like chocolate or bacon. To that I say there is something wrong with them. :-)

Who cares if someone doesn’t like that you use iPhone? I use the iPhone 14 Pro and actually just upgraded to it about a month ago from the iPhone 11. Been Apple for much of my adult life. Still am and I’m not planning to change anytime soon.

As for upgrading, your 13 seems like it has quite a few battle scars. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s more if the issues cause you problems. I assume you don’t have AppleCare. Apple does like to make it so not carrying AppleCare means you have to pay exorbitant rates to get your device fixed. Also they’re pretty well against right to repair so they make it financially painful for people not to buy AppleCare. It’s not a perfect situation. Anyway, does the 16 offer you something you want that is not available to you now?

What about upgrading to a 15? You’ll have to run the cost benefit analysis for your situation to see if it makes sense. There’s plenty of value to be realized in used devices so don’t discount it. For instance, I bought this IPhone 14 Pro and it came with AppleCare. Now I don’t have to worry that it has scratches on the screen or whatever. Apple will replace it if needed.
