Thanks for sharing. Reminds me I wanna read neuromancer soon.

Hyperion, dune books, snowcrash, and midnight (lol) are only ones I've read from a quick scan of the list.

Guess I knew but had to make sure. Cool! I only looked into game/lore fairly recently, and just part time here and there, bot sure why...just draws me in a bit I guess. Painted a few models and got a few more coming. Never played and haven't read rules all the way yet.

That's my ultimate conclusion every time. My only edge is I read posts from a few people who seem to know a lot about BTC and are also bullish on these products while seeming to understand finance decently well. Not quite enough edge to take action

Were you at 60 degrees normally?

Yeah, though in my limited experience with offshore teams (Indian), they get treated like nuclear spies (frosted glass, no phones in or computers out) over less sensitive data. But that could be because they were somewhat skilled/professional grade hires. Not so sure how much that would hold for a company called "TaskUs" lol. Sounds like a new uber service (oh yeah, tastes it is what I'm thinking of ha)

Great artistry is as much evident in the brushstrokes made as the ones left out 🧠

Lol, good. But also funny to consider is this take

It's healthy and good, but hopefully a few exciting moves to come soon. Mi dopamine pls

How am I supposed to triple my stack timing a blow off top?!

Hello! Nice to know another fellow gentleman of such refined taste!

I read first book pretty young, came back and read it again plus the remaining 5 books years later. Just reread all 6 last year on audiobook!

John Harrison... lol? Looks like he was executive producer on recent blockbusters, so he has that going for him

There was a 6 part SciFi Channel series in 2000 that I liked a lot. Long episodes too, and basically the book verbatim iirc.

Nobody else seems to have seen it other than me though :/

It's a tough book to make a screenplay from. I was pretty young when I decided it was awesome, so that may be playing a part

Surely you're in slev's advanced nostr pack. This is his starter pack

No effing way!! Funny, I'm always proud to say first ever roll I made playing Yahtzee I got a yahtzee (all 5s). The rest of the players were sickened

Pocket pal is an AI ap yes? An npub named Lemon I think made it.

Otherwise, I'm lost in this convo

I lack the vernacular lol

Good to know. Yes, I'm a big fan of polyrhythms

Maybe it's just me, but the different rhythms sliding against each other (near that middle part especially, where the gay woozy sounds go out) was blowing my mind yesterday lol.

the fiat propaganda FUD machine is so good.

my friends come to me with the latest story of how crypto degenerates kidnap and torture each other in Manhattan luxury apartments for the "password to their Bitcoin account" (look it up today) but they never tell me of the story they read about how good people stay humble, stack sats and sell high quality honey, pecan products, soap, jerky, and art, and produce great podcasts and permaculture advice.

Have Fun Staying Propagandized!

Best part of understanding bitcoin is seeing how others contort their thinking to dismiss it

Wonder if I followed you lol. Assume a diff handle.

Stack chain still around I think, a good number of the usual suspects too, but clearly a drop in the more recent wave from last cycle. Just doesn't seem to be much real "heat" there. Could be my bias though

Yeah just reminded me of a point you made in our discussion of light, with a particularly nice illustration. Have def seen strange shadow effects from certain lamps before, that I assume were led

You know, I knew about bitcoin in the very early days. Not pizza day early, but not long after. I didn't buy any for many years... I just watched the news and wished I had acted for a long time.

I often ask myself why I didn't act. My excuses are thus:

1. I had very little money. I started my 1st 'career' in 2010, and was probably 2 or 3 years into the job when I first heard of bitcoin. Bitcoin was pretty cheap still though, so it's not a perfect excuse.

2. I had zero friends with any knowledge on the. subject. It would have been very nice to have been shown the ropes. Unfortunately, my bitcoin journey has been a very lonely one. 🤷‍♂️ I think this is a more valid excuse; For better or worse, I'm a very socially motivated person.

3. It took a long time, watching cycles to feel comfortable with the ebb and flow of the market. Booms and crashes were little more than exciting headlines at first, but following the news without skin in the game helped me feel better about my eventual first purchase.

4. In 2016 I attempted to create my 1st bitcoin wallet. I remember that I was really confused by the passphrase I needed to store. It seems silly now, but I actually never finished setting up the wallet because thus stage seemed so foreign to me.

5. When I finally bought crypto for the first time it was 2017, and it wasn't bitcoin! Bitcoin started to get really expensive (it was $20k by 2018) and new cheaper coins like TRX and XRP had hit the market. The thinking at the time was: If bitcoin did it, these shitcoins might too! 🤣

6. I made good money buying/selling shitcoins for a while (small time money, but large percentage gains). Unfortunately, his reinforced my shitcoin habit and kept me from purchasing bitcoin. Crypto became synonymous with quick action and hodling was anathema to squeezing a quick buck out of this phenomena.

So... those are my excuses. Looking back on my life, Bitcoin represents the best chance I ever had to be truly wealthy. If I had acted on my gut when I first took interest in it, I would live in a mansion on a tropical island now. C'est la vi.

As has been said before, everyone gets bitcoin at the price they deserve. Carry on.

These are all very relatable reasons. First friend who told me about it really didn't know what he was talking about, so I quickly dismissed him (he's a shitcoiner now, and not rich by any stretch lol).

Watched headlines too. Felt smart when it crashed.

Came around eventually 🥲
