Well hell, I'll look at that. Guess I'm spending some XMR.
Agreed, and that's why I'm holding it. I have some very good no-KYC options for BTC. Not so much for XMR.
Yeah. Coinjoin and Lightning and the fact that WAY more people will take BTC for daily use stuff made me shift away from Monero. I hold some still, but I'm using and learning a lot more with BTC in hot wallets. I also never once converted a non-crypto person to XMR, but plenty are willing to try a Lightning wallet.
Never mind. Delayed reaction. Guess it's on my end.
I can't zap you using Amethyst and Tor. Works for other people.
Question: Do any of them offer actual privacy or refusal to feds if you don't run your own server, node, etc.? Which is better for a pleb with no self-hosting?
I just watched the Line Goes Up video for the first time. I don't know that guy, but he smacks of someone who bought at 50k and sold at 3500 because he was trying to get rich.
He seems to care about protecting stupid people from themselves rather than teaching them and letting them experience consequences.
He talks about everything in terms of fiat and acquiring or losing that fiat.
He mentions equity as if it's unfair that 1-dimensional people will face consequences for being 1-dimensional.
He completely leaves out counterarguments to points like many-hour transaction times and high transaction fees.
Then there's the irony of talking about scams and sellouts while he (most likely) gets paid out the ass by screwgle for the 13M views he sucked in with 2 hours of all I never wanted to know about NFTs.
OR he's doing some devil's advocate thing and I missed the point entirely.
Twitter just seems so anti-everything-we-should-stand-for that I can't bring myself to participate. I'm not getting a paycheck from it, either, though.
My small contribution is to zap, not like. I hope it adds up and turns into beer for somebody.
GM #coffeechain, time for a taste of this Guatemala from the roasting last night. The bubbles are from CO2 being released. Freshly-roasted coffee should do this.
Home's a nice place to be this morning. Coffee brewing, wife cooking breakfast, kid playing. Not bad at all.
Thanks for the heads-up. Changing from admin to hunter2 now. Take that hackers!
If you ever wondered what a "crack" was in #coffee roasting, it's basically like what happens to popcorn. This is what first crack sounds like. The roaster drum noise is pretty loud, but the crack is much louder. Second crack is lighter, like Rice Krispies, and you don't usually hear it until you get a darker roast going. This is some Guatemala I'm roasting for tomorrow. #coffeechain

I've been getting some big 2017 vibes. Saw someone shilling Tron the other day. Also, the talk about the performance of various shitcoins as if they aren't tied to BTC 99.9% of the time. It's very nostalgic.
I locked up the wallets and stopped reading about crypto for 5 years. Got interested again with Lightning and Nostr. Now I'm wondering, did the bullshit and shitcoin peddling ever stop while I was away?
World-class bullshit experts, maybe.
Trying my first "Split and Forward Zaps" feature of Amethyst. All zaps here go to nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 because I love him
Forward deez zaps.
New thing for today: Generating BIP-85 seeds with #COLDCARD for multiple #BTC wallets and #Nostr nsec. This is VERY cool. Goes way, way beyond a signing device.
Learning has occurred.
And don't give control of them to someone else. Not your keys, not your kids.
Looks like I'm using 12 relays. 3 of those are paid, 1 is private. I used whatever the defaults are in Amethyst, paid for ones I see certain people on, and fired up a private one just to learn how.
