building #Alexandria & #MedSchlr https://next-alexandria.gitcitadel.eu/ Decentralize education

During the merge I recognized that some events shouldn't be "nodes" but help build relationships between notes, ideas or users. Wheras the functionality here is more ad hoc. Getting that straightened first then would make building the graph more effecient, as their representations here would end up being more informative

More to come 😎

different events have similar types of interaction, so we're working on formalizing it and becoming general. I mentioned to nostr:nprofile1qqsr7acdvhf6we9fch94qwhpy0nza36e3tgrtkpku25ppuu80f69kfqppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qy0hwumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttjv4kxz7fwv3jhyettwfhhxuewd4jj7qg3waehxw309ahx7um5wgh8w6twv5hsleq7kw that this is something like a user friendly & visual nak tool.

I'd recommend watching some youtube tutorials on setting it up, and which brands to start off with. πŸ™‚

But that's kinda the point. To some degree even if you're not literally getting what is said the point of reading is to start spinning ideas, get yourself digest and integrate them over time. Supposedly, the writing is precise and there is a right way to interpret them, but its a bunch of entangled ladders and halls of mirrors to get there πŸ™ƒ

Reading it feels like chewing obsidian 🫠

You fill up the gourd with the leaves, and the straw filters out the particles. When I'm able, I prepare it with some chai spices. Highly recommend! I've found it shapes the tone of my day very positively

No no, I think he's on to something. He is on nostr after all πŸ™ƒ

Here's my very jestful response - you never are.

You speak in wordd created by other people, all who have their own agenda. You act in frameworks that are derivative of your predicessors. Even the most righteous individuals are still humans with their own intentions, no matter the narrative they are putting forth.

If there is an ultimate truth, I'm doubtful it can be articulated.

So the maximum that follows - be self critical, be critical of others. Think with ideas rather than about them - where does this thinking lead beyond what is immediately stated? Continually reorient and then resolidify yourself against that truth, even if local truths can lead you astray.

A sort of frantic ideological oscillation that changes bias over multiple time scales.

Yeah. I literally cannot explain how influential Zak Stein's ideas have been in the design of #Alexandria. Entrenched at at all layers.

Meet nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgqgewaehxw309a4kjarrdpjkutn6v9czucm0da4kjmn8qqsry0gl27g2q54ae44lq4kh3st9dyjy7mlsz865q7hw3nm097nsles62z04z.

I've heard him on a few podcasts over the last year or so but did not know how deep down the rabbit hole he is.

On this episode of Future of Agriculture, Vance nails it to the wall about how bitcoin will demonetize land and bring the cost back down to its utility value. He even mentions nostr so consider following this nostrich.

Woah! Watching this right now! What a cross connection

I think you're pointing to the general missmatch, especially with mindfulness meditation. Its not meant to resolve anything. Its giving you an external quiet to sit with that tension and feel out how you're being affected.

Maybe prayer (or throwing the I Ching) also offers a similar sequence. Not actually by initiating any miracle, but by priming you to notice opportunities, since its comforting and puts you in a state of "this will work out because its being taken care of"

i think that rumination itself is a sort of autonomic response that's still trying to resolve. It doesn't really get you anywhere no matter how long you do it, but ruminating eventually just tires you out to a point where you're able to work with it.

Legitimatelly sitting in it like you would in water that's just a little to hot or cold for your comfort is probably the way to go, but the water still needs to be in that zone where you can work with it πŸ™‚

I'm starting to recognize that the tensions one feels within ourselves should probably be met with some equal level of sitting with it, rather than immediately reaching to resolve it in any way. The more tense a situation makes you feel, the more you should probably sit with it. It provides a space for you to grow, and if you do eventually decide to act, your choice is probably better than anything you might have done earlier.

I am talking a lot about wss://relays.land/spatianostra recently, not just for the feed itself but for the idea. The dynamic voting concept has serious potential to diversify feeds by the general ethos/politics/interests of any set of users. That becomes really powerful as Nostr relay browsing gains client-side momentum. Communitoloes can form more organically.

The spatianostra feed itself is simply an example of an easily accessible, non-capturing, curated feed. It is not controlled by anyone, just guided. We've tailored towards giving those new to Nostr a welcoming place to browse & discover nice content & people, because there has been a need for that. Try to imagine other feeds composed of high-signal information or mostly [insert any political slogan here] or a completely different feel, like the #⭕️ , all available in a click or two, with curation being a low-barrier action for participating voters.

There is lots of room for competition in creating unique feeds that users enjoy browsing. Eventually, there will be more incentive to earn placement in various feeds as well. There needs to be more stuff like this to showcase some of what makes Nostr unique and to provide people with options. The wide-open part has proven to work pretty well. And spatianostra is helping to prove that you can take chunks out & not effect that openness at all. It's not a walled garden, it's a nice little picnic spot on this vast & beautiful planet. That might be a cheesy analogy, but I bet you can't scroll that feed and honestly tell me that I'm wrong. πŸ˜…

its such a great idea - because this is the potential for inter/intra relay communities, moving beyond the all (relay pool/prebiotic soup) or nothing (1-relay-1-community island) vision of nostr that has manifested AND with no crazy relay setting because the relay.

I've been adding fresh spices and it gets even better 😎

I think you could actually organise a cool nostr/wavlake more 'experimental' music festival thing.

Right now, I use a cli to upload, but my involvment is just uploading, you'll be the zappable author at some point in the future. Doesn't need to be complete. Like public open source building, this is public knowledge and knowledge commons building.

Only difference is syntax - Alexandria uses Asciidoc, and I'll happily do that conversion process.
