I could be thinking of something else. Leeks look to be an allium
Where do you grow these and how’s the taste? Don’t they prefer wet roots?
Just realized I’m a moron sometimes. So the “native pear” I grafted into is actually a native peach. Oklahoma doesn’t have a native pear. I was so exideted to try grafting that I totally brain farted. That said, If I were a betting man, I’d say 2 of these grafts aren’t going to take.
Good to laugh at yourself 😜🤪🤣

Wow! This is what happens when your kid gets good at the fundamentals. #softball
There was some pics going around the #garden tag last year. It’s very disturbing. Only thing you can do is mute those people and hope the relay opps mute them as well so they don’t get shared.
Haters wanna hate, lovers wanna love, I don’t even want none of the above
I’ll post a follow up in the spring to see if they take. 🤞
I’d be happy if any of them took. I had to prune the Asian pear bare root I planted so didn’t want to waste all the pruned cuttings. You think the electrical tape can double as grafting tape?
Gotta love posting 2 notes because you don’t see the original went through.
Taking a shot at #grafting Asian #pear scion wood today. I’m trying on a few different pear cultivars. A native pear, Bartlett, and a Keifer. This is a learning exp for me as I’ve never attempted before. It may be too early in the season for sap to be flowing but I wanted to give it a shot anyways. #foodforest #grownostr #fruittrees #homesteading

Awesome! I’ll be planting some black locus seed. You have to scarify the seed. I’ve had the best success by simply putting them in a cup and pouring boiling water on them and plant them the next day. Good luck with your growing this year!
Awe that’s a good idea!!
The roots are usually harvested for medicinal purposes. Lovage has been used in traditional medicine, particularly as carminative, digestive, diuretic, expectorant, antispasmodic and diaphoretic.
High in quercetin, Vitamin C, and B-vitamins - Like all green leafies, lovage is packed with nutrition.
UTIs & kidney health - Lovage is a natural diuretic that boosts urination without electrolyte loss. This system flush can keep things healthy and moving.
Stomach complaints & appetite - Lovage tea can calm the nervous and digestive systems, which may help to restore appetite.
Arthritis & joint relief - The anti-inflammatory effects of lovage can help support healthy joints and subtly improve pain.
Menstrual complaints - Lovage has been used to alleviate cramps, bloating, and other monthly irritations. The nutrient-dense nature of the plant can help with cravings, too.
Skin benefits - A lovage ointment can be a salve for smoothing skin, improving tone and appearance, and providing better blood flow.
Allergies & colds- The high quercetin levels of lovage produce a natural antihistamine effect. Try adding some to soups when you’re feeling under the weather!
Right on! I good plan goes a long way and saves time in the long run.
Well I’m rooting for ya. Hopefully they all hatch. Idk why but I had more success when I sprayed a peroxide water dilution on the eggs before incubating. Idk if anyone else does that.
Eww I like this a lot
Hi nostr, we saw the bobcat again this morning, he was up in a tree, waiting for the chicken door to open so he could grab a chicken. Luckily the rooster alerted us, and we ran outside just in time to see the bobcat climb down the tree and run off. Pretty damned bold of him. We'll go out again in the morning to see if we can shoot him.
The rest of the day we spent mostly outside, working on little projects. Also i decided to try my hand at incubating a few chicken eggs. I had forgotten that my husband had an old incubator left over from when he raised quail. So i found it and put a few eggs in it, maybe i'll get a couple to hatch. Anyway, yall have good evening nostr friends. Stay happy, healthy, and free. #grownostr #homesteading https://cdn.nostrcheck.me/8d9d2b77930ee54ec3e46faf774ddd041dbb4e4aa35ad47c025884a286dd65fa/7c5f7c303a7a7cf81e33d51316ad8bba2966961a5f619bcfee8d3b968000d13a.webp
That dang bobcat.
I’m exited for your incubation project!
