People who say this like its a bad thing don't understand how to bootstrap networks.

100,000 users on a network talking about 100,000 different topics dies in a matter of days, because there's literally nobody to talk to about *your* topic and no cohesion at all in the network. 100,000 users in one community is a solid network.

Look at every successful network in history, it *always* starts with an atomic, self sustaining network around a single community or purpose.

- Amazon. Only sold books.

- Uber, Lyft, and pretty much any rideshare service. All got a critical mass in ONE city before expanding.

- Airbnb. Started exclusively and got success in San Francisco.

- Napster. Started with almost exclusively music

- Facebook. Exclusively Harvard students

- Twitch.tv started as just one guy streaming his life and then targeted gamers.

- Pinterest, focused entirely on "mom-bloggers"

This list goes on and on. What he is describing is literally *the only way alternative networks are ever successful.* So contrary to the idea that this is bad, it's actually the only reason Nostr is still here. Because you can find most of the best bitcoiners, tons of great holistic lifestyle content, and cypherpunks wanting to build awesome shit.

That's actually a fantastic start and we should LEAN INTO THIS MORE, not steer away from it. We do so at our own detriment if we just complain about and fail to embrace the community we DO have.

- Tinder. Literally grew itself locally one frat and sorority party at a time.

nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzqfhf4dljerf2cdus8tushc4p4mm09t9adx057fvu4tr66v7jqqxpqqsyq75zk0qyj780m9rpgqcrm24scfu9zcru56pqk56tk8wdqdyry9g3exsx4

I joined Nostr to learn the finer points about BTC.

I joined Nostr to build a cyber security skill set .

I joined Nostr because the community endorses my attitude that I'm on the right track.

Knowledge, skills and attitude helps me to be a better Bitcoiner. To be competent.

Nostr ticks all these boxes.

Awesome feedback. I love how Nostriches come through with awesome, practical ideas. Keep going.

Good man.

The bureaucrats are expecting the immigrants to be blamed . The immigrants are just as much victims as the seniors. They're the fodder that are deliberately used to cause division, to create chaos to allow the government to plunder and loot and scoop from their own citizens .

If you and I printed money we'd be in jail. If they print money - its legal.

Cronyism . They hold the purse. They make the rules.

Make them irrelevant . Adopt BTC. Stack sats. Separate money from state. Replace with BTC. Its happening .

Now watch the tax regime get busy. Janet Yellen was floating unrealized tax gains. That's why self custody is so important.

Thoughts on Bitcoin Treasury Companies (BTCs)

POSITIVES:

1. BTCs are inevitable at this point in monetary history. Many of us saw them coming many years ago.

2. BTCs put the theory of "Speculative Arbitrage" or "Speculative Attack" into practice. That is, they sell/short depreciating US dollars and go long/buy appreciating bitcoin. -- This is a *nearly* surefire way to increase purchasing power over time.. and will hasten the transfer of purchasing power from traditional fiat assets into the Bitcoin network.

3. Done well--by employing shrewd levels of leverage and well-constructed financial instruments at opportune times--BTCs may outperform bitcoin over a multi-year period.

4. Many current and future strategies of "mining fiat" by BTCs will perform well during a bull market, and should serve to increase "bitcoin yield" over time... benefitting bitcoin-focused shareholders.

NEGATIVES:

1. The more BTCs that exist, the more downward pressure will build upon their respective mNAVs.

2. Many current and future strategies of "mining fiat" by BTCs will perform poorly during a bear market, likely resulting in extreme declines in share price and--more significantly--loss of balance sheet bitcoin via margin calls and/or outright sales to maintain solvency.

3. The management of many current and future BTCs will inevitably deploy "too much" leverage "too late" into a bull market and will put their operating company and bitcoin and shareholders at risk.

4. Poor management decisions and fees will lead to chronic underperformance of many BTCs.

5. Trusting BTC managers (and their custodians) to safely custody their (and their shareholders) bitcoin is its own risk over individual custody in cold storage. Though more convenient, there will be more points of failure.

6. Most importantly, Bitcoin isn't just some speculative fiat asset... IT IS, LITERALLY, A COMPLETELY NEW AND BETTER FORM OF MONEY, WITH IT'S OWN FINANCIAL ECOSYSTEM AND GLOBAL ECONOMY. Intertwining, fiat assets and Wall Street products with the Bitcoin monetary and financial network continues to empower and encourage the traditional fiat system, with its perverse incentives and power structures.

--------

OPINION:

I don't begrudge those OG Bitcoiners who are participating in BTCs... which seem to be the darlings of the current Bitcoin bull market. In fact, as a traditional hedge fund manager-turned-Bitcoiner, I have one foot in the fiat world and one foot in Bitcoin... so I am the Chief of Hypocrites.

But I think that we--and future generations--would be best served by simply removing ourselves from the current fiat economy and focusing our TIME and ENERGY into building better products and services on the (completely separate and sustainable) Bitcoin network.

This will hasten the separation of Money and State and will allow us to more quickly engineer a better tomorrow.

--------

Just my two sats. Hope it helps.

Onward and upward.

A minefield for naked shorting.

My 2 cents worth . - Identify the enemy. Understand their agenda. Find their vulnerabilities. Exploit - but not in the way they expect.

You've got balls.

Righting a wrong against a bureaucratic regime is no easy task. This is straight out theft, to service a political agenda.

And they exploit the most vulnerable - with double talk and picking them off one by one. They assume that seniors won't form a network of others suffering the same fate. This works in their favour.

The answer is to find out who else is in this boat. Collective numbers give strength, rather than individuals fighting for their rights.

Media won't be touching this issue.

So you need to find hackers/meme artists/cost effective publicity groups to come up with solutions.

The catch is - DO NOT BLAME THE IMMIGRANTS. That's exactly what the bureaucrats want you to do.

Ridicule works. Like-

Thank you Social welfare for docking my power bill. It is important to steal my savings to help you buy a car for my immigrant neighbors.

Bureaucrats do not like being ridiculed.

The macro outlook- (global stage)

Understand that they are endorsing Kissingers mantra -

Control the food = control the people.

Control the energy = control the country.

Control the money = control the world.

The micro outlook -(your mother's bubble)

A layer of division has been deliberately inserted - to create anxiety, fear and despair. The bureaucrats can now claim that the immigrants need servicing first.

Resulting in righteous anger at the unfair treatment.

Take into account the risk/reward ratio - in whatever action you take. But yes they are head fucking your mother deliberately .

I'm serious.

When I found out about cloudflare front running Proton - that was it for me.

Currently learning from ghost about onion mail and Tor.

I get your point. English reflects French and German derivatives /origins.

Unfortunately the English language has been weaponised and is deliberately nuanced to say one thing and to mean exactly the opposite. The lawyers especially in the USA, have made a career out of it. So have Politicians. Bankers. Wall St traders. Media.

Applying the English language to coding calls for logics, cryptography and maths - another whole new dimension. And in AI's case - game theory.

On the other hand China has proven time and again, their skill at taking any product from high end luxury items, to electronics, heavy machinery and everything in between - copying it, scaling it and taking it to market at a far cheaper price.

And they're well educated, bi-lingual and are a culture of patient, longterm strategists. Their history proves it. Invasions, exploitation, often ridiculed, depicted as the boogeyman - end result resilient fortitude.

Long journey.

Like peeling off layers accumulated throughout your life. Layers of obedience, approval, compliance.

Sniffing the promise of an exit to a parallel system of autonomy governed by protocol.

Yes. I'm traveling that road. Heavy responsibility - but worth it.

Somber and emotional morning in Hiroshima, Japan that unlocked the door to a very powerful conversation with my son.

The emotion, fear and gravity of a situation where we’ve always lived in a world where horrific things happen in order to divide and control people had him convinced that there was no way out….and that it would happen again. Because that must be a part of us and we wouldn’t change. We then talked about how it is happening right now in parts of the world with most people turning a blind eye or making it stronger by believing that there was a side to win inside a system that relied on manipulation, coercion and control for its survival.

As I brought up how #bitcoin is imposing the opposite system - one of truth, hope and abundance, and inscribing the best of us into a protocol that changed the system we have always known - he pushed back - not believing that “we” could or would change fast enough to avoid the worst.

I asked him: What about you? Where is your energy going? Is your fear of what others will do keeping you from realizing what you can do?

With that……he saw that we were each the change. The light in the darkness. And that no one had the power to take that from us. That every mind changed contributed to more minds changing and further understanding that we’re never going back.

Yes - the system change will be chaotic, Yes - there will be many things keeping you in a perpetual state of fear to keep you locked in.

Yes - There is a high probability that the world goes to war again.

But how can you contribute to the world you want to see?

Hope > fear

Love > hate

Freedom > control

Abundance > scarcity

Powerful statement.

'Is your fear of what others will do keeping you from realising what you can do?'

I expect many parents are going to experience variations of your apprehensive moment with your son. I hope I can instil the love and care you shared when both of you were so vulnerable .

Thank you for sharing such an emotional moment.

Broken society led by pedophiles, sick fucks, psychopathic liars and toilet paper banks. Good luck with that.

I'll stick with BTC protocol, Nostr protocol, Onion mail and Tor. All based on open rules, anyone can follow and walk into securing my own autonomous future.

This is so deep - its like looking at a work of art and you keep coming back to it, because you see other aspects, you missed the first time. This is now #4.

1. The language you use - poetic brevity - each word effectively used to hammer home a point.

2. Went straight to your website - and pored over your other writings. Result - Subscribed.

3. I have knowledge and attitude. I agree this is ineffective. Unless you have skill.

Result - you have clarified where to focus my efforts. Paralysis analysis - some would call it. I call it straight out fear and impatience, when I don't get it after 3 attempts.

Note to self - Try again and analyze where I'm going wrong and breakdown the steps into smaller bite sizes.

4. I am a senior in age only. So I don't fit the criteria you are targeting.

That doesn't stop me from learning how to be an effective teacher, to help onramp the generation that follows. Their future is bleak.

Result - I am reposting your note that hopefully commands the reach you deserve.

5. There is so much noise out there. Its time to take stock of what is important:

Bitcoin

Tor

Nostr

Your note and blogs on your website are the signals.

Thank you for sharing and pushing me forward.

Awesome quote.

Based on being true to self.

Not easy to do. Takes you out of your comfort zone.

But when you do it - the end result is exhilirating. Clarifies the bs(perception) from reality (perspective).

Nice work.

Agreed. Relays and DB are the same.

So what sort of system are you suggesting that doesn't sound like centralizing ?

Hey friend. I haven't forgotten you.

1. Looking at Tor for alternative email and their built in vpn.

2. Looking to dump proton.

Something amazing happened this week. Met this random guy, while out walking. Talked about things happening in the world . He knew something was wrong, but couldn't be specific. Then he talked about crypto.

We swapped addresses because neither of us had our ph.

Next day 4 hours of intense question and answers.

Today is day 3 - his cousin lives 1.5 hours drive away is coming to meet me. I'm meeting the rest of guy 1's family this weekend .

Can't believe how fast this is happening .

Guy 1 has offered to pay for my time.

Told him No.

Short term plan is to onboard as many as I can to sats/BTC/Monero.

Long term plan is to help secure a better future for our young ones and that's the payment.

Study time now - looking at Jack Mallers new offering .

Update laters Aaliyah.

Clarify please.

Database under control of service providers? Who decides who the providers will be? Is this different from relays?

Not sorry for the dumb questions . I want to understand your perspective relating to database storage .

Taking minimalism to a whole new level.

At least a cushion for maximum comfort.

Bookmarked .

A powerful example of why BTC should be adopted.

USD used to weaponise trade. BTC weaponised to free trade.

A fliptop head. A big mouth. A happy stomach.

I can almost smell that. Drooling.

Oh yes. Roger Ver and bcash.

Chizelled into my memory bank.

This will haunt him for the rest of his life.

Agreed. Saw it through the vax jabs, the mask bs, the climate crap, the BTC volatility and today the Epstein files.

Being told idiot, nutjob, looney tune, wasting my time etc etc - I wore them as badges of honour.

I've done some incredibly dumb things in my life. BTC is not one of them.

Thank you for responding, and its awesome that you are an original since Nostr's inception. Forgive my anger.

Prior to Nostr I was following Lyn Alden (her macro view on broken money), Jeff Booth (his comparison of BTC/USD), Matt ODell/Marty Bent (geopolitical, BTC updates and regulations likely to impact BTC), Jack Dorsey (the various projects to create software to help onboard people into BTC), Peter MacCormack (the impact of BTC people in countries suffering high inflation and their currency is practically toast).

I've never considered them influencers . I respect them for their knowledge and their willingness to share what they know. Influenced by them? Of course. When they have something to say - I sit up and listen. The kicker is - I don't blindly follow them. I don't worship them. I apply their teachings to my bubble. We all have different realities, different priorities and yet they have helped shape my education on what is money. There are many more out there that deserve a mention.

All have one thing in common - they see Trumps train wreck coming and its picking up speed. They are helping us get off the train track.

I'm sorry I misunderstood your comparison to ethereum. I get the point.

Best you stay lost in the whispers of the wind. Lost being the operative word.

You make assumptions, claiming that influencers are hogging Nostr. The other side to that coin is you imply those that follow are too stupid to think for themselves.

I am here to learn stuff. For me its about content in the one place that's vibrant with developers, Bitcoiners, cybersecurity and a host of hardware/software information, AI and everything in between.

If ethereum rings your bell - there's nothing to stop you from creating your own following.

Just cut the whinge / deport yourself or stay and create stuff.

Thank you very much for a great read.

I'm new and didn't do any of the step by step instructions you so eloquently laid out.

Just jumped in, blatted around, squawked here, there and everywhere and then realized this is deep water and I can't swim.

So I learned Nostr is a protocol like BTC, clients are like apps layered over the top of Nostr and relays are like depositing your notes in a filing system for anyone to read.

I've bookmarked it for further study, and appreciate the time you've taken to onboard new entrants.

Nostr has been so timely. Exploring the different groups within Primal.

I am so grateful meeting you here. So many people on this protocol - all with the same outlook, to see BTC fly. And it will.

Trump's BBB was the signal. The printing machine working overtime to service the bond interest payments. They can't afford to default , otherwise the USD collapses . But the printing makes USD devalue and goods and services is on a rocketship to Mars. Inflation begins.

The house of cards now in a spiral. Next few months - mortgagee sales, credit card debt, loan defaults.

And then Wall St and the stockmarket. 7 will survive and expand. 493 will die or get swallowed up.

Same with the banks. Crushed and everybody's money vaporized never to be seen again.

No bail outs this time.

Money/assets are not lost. It flows straight to Blackrock, JP Morgan and the big 7.

At the same time - the impact of Americas plight, will crush or cripple all Western countries . Some are panicking now - India stopping currency outflow, NZ banning BTC ATM's.

BRICS+, GCC and sanctioned countries don't care. They seen it coming, much like we seen BTC coming.

Now, I'm really bullish on XMR.

Great time to be alive.

Great time to be on Nostr.

Nope.

Wrong label.

You meant Fucktards.

Every idea is a remix of survival - I love that.

And you are right about survival. We are in a war right now.

Health is under attack from the air we breathe, to the food we eat, the water we drink, the hygiene products we slather on our bodies, the clothes we wear and worst of all, trust in our doctors who are paid a bonus to keep us sick. To kill us. Reports from embalmers. You don't need to watch a horror movie - just watch one of these.

And then we come to the psychological attacks, weaponised in fear. Fear is the most crippling emotion that paralyzes , hypnotizes and breaks the mind.

Media uses it, influencers use it, political leaders use it, government bureaucrats use it, corporations use it, banks use it, politicians, preachers, teachers, family and friends use it.

Its like being in a game of whack-a-mole. Forever ducking, diving, dodging.

Paranoid? Yes. I'm a 10.

You've lost me.

Is the law to protect life, liberty and property working today?

Charles Hugh Smith makes an analysis called The Hollowed Out System that shows the complete opposite .

Agreed.

Securing our data is paramount no matter which money is used.

I follow hacker news - the looting is phenomenal . So many attack vectors - hardware, software, networks, apps, social media and especially data bases.

The good news is banks and governments are exploited too. But there will come a time when governments, banks and hackers will attack me.

Even worse - you buy storage ssd's only to find that they've upgraded, no longer support that version and you can't access your files. So, you have two choices - buy the next or shove it. And now we have AI.

XMR - provides hope to defend ALL attacks .

🌟 Crypto Queens, let’s talk Monero (XMR) love while repping Bitcoin (BTC) supremacy! 🚀 As a die-hard Bitcoin believer, I’m all about that decentralized dream, and Monero’s privacy game is the perfect wingwoman for BTC’s revolution! Here’s the latest XMR tea as of June 17, 2025, and why it’s got my heart (right next to Bitcoin, ofc!):💻 Fresh Monero Updates: The Monero squad dropped v0.18.4.0, “Fluorine Fermi,” squashing some daemon network bugs to keep things locked tight. Chef’s kiss.🌍 Ecosystem Slay: The MAGIC Monero Fund’s raising cash to make code safer with fuzzing for FCMP++. XMRbazaar’s new features are giving us a Monero-powered shopping spree vibe—yes to that circular economy! And Tari, a privacy chain merge-mined with XMR, just hit mainnet. Monero’s building a world Bitcoin can vibe with!⚖️ Real Talk: Monero’s privacy powers are so fierce, they’ve got regulators side-eyeing. Kraken delisted XMR in the EU, and its use in darknet markets (plus that $330M BTC theft) has the feds buzzing (even sanctioned an Iranian darknet op!). But like Bitcoin, XMR’s just tech doing its thing—freedom isn’t free, right?⛏️ Community & Mining: The Cuprate node slashed sync time to 20 hours—speedy! But 2Miners ditched XMR mining, pushing Zephyr (ZEPH) for RandomX fans.
